23/04/2026: It's the perfect place for a quick bite before heading back to work or continuing your exploration of this fantastic city. The staff is very helpful: during my last stay in L'Aquila, they let me leave my suitcase for a few hours while I explored the L'Aquila countryside.

07/07/2026: Passing through Castel di Sangro, I decided to stop at Sabatino. A simple trattoria serving typical local dishes, this place is spartan, no-frills, and fairly clean. I preferred to make a reservation for lunch; although I arrived early, I still found a table. I tried the appetizer with cured meats and cheeses: homemade and very flavorful ingredients. Tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffles was adequate, but the sauce was "untidy," a typical dish from a village festival, made in a hurry. The fusilli with white lamb and saffron ragù was more flavorful than the tagliatelle. The pan with sausage and provola cheese was very flavorful. The mutton arrosticini were well-made. The only downside was the service; unfortunately, I waited a very long time for my food, about 2 and a half hours, amidst general dissatisfaction, as all the customers at the tables were furious about it. If you're looking for something good and authentic, I recommend it, but arm yourself with saintly patience because the times are biblical.

26/06/2026: I am an Italian Aurtralian. Travelling over Apennines to Rome from Vieste. 1400 and places with 1500 closing times were all shut. Came across Trattoria Da Sabatino. Said they never close. Fantastic. So good I would not hesitate to come back. Great stop and best plate of pasta. As good as my Nonnas. Steven

20/05/2026: Bolla: where atmosphere meets service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bolla has that rare mix that makes you say "see you there" without thinking. A well-kept venue, just the right lighting, music at the perfect volume for conversation. The drinks are excellent, the food is impeccable, and the details are what make you understand that nothing is left to chance here. Then there's her, the girl in the dining room. And the level is raised even higher. She welcomes you with a genuine smile, the kind that sets the tone for your evening. She's smart, attentive, and knows when to stop by for advice and when to let you enjoy your table in peace. She remembers your tastes, has a quick joke, and manages the dining room with a natural ease that makes everything seem effortless. The combo is this: Bolla sets the scene, the drinks, and the food are top-notch. She puts her heart and soul into it and makes you feel like a guest, not a customer. The result? You leave with a full belly, an empty glass, and the desire to return tomorrow.

09/05/2026: We were greeted warmly and ordered appetizers and a main course with wine. The appetizer arrived after 25 minutes and was very good. After a full hour, the side dishes were placed on the table... ONLY the side dishes! After another 10 minutes, we asked the waiter when the main course would arrive... in 2 minutes... Well, the Filetto di Manzzo arrived, but it was still raw and riddled with sinew... probably the worst piece of meat I've ever had. I sent it back. On the plus side: The waiter apologized and didn't charge us for the meat or the wine.

07/06/2026: The welcome and general management were NOT AT ALL professional: it was noticeable days before the event, with unhelpful attitudes and, I should emphasize, rude and impolite behavior from the owner, while the manager was not up to par, at times ruder than the owner himself. During the event, tension among the staff was palpable, ruining the atmosphere. The food was below average (not to be harsh) for the price, with simple and poorly crafted dishes, boasting a menu that, when printed on paper, seems more refined than when presented at the table, almost like a 1980s trattoria. The quality-price ratio was decidedly poor. Not recommended for large events; perhaps a birthday would be better, but we still doubt it. It's certainly a beautiful location, but in the wrong hands.

06/04/2026: We spent the Easter Monday 2026 event with friends in the Lance room. It was a lovely location, with engaging music, but the food was meager. The appetizers were awful, the first course inedible, and the second course was meager and tasteless. In short, to get something to eat, we were forced to buy some arrosticini from the drying rack in the garden. We won't be returning!

15/05/2026: Not suitable for large tables with children (10 years old) or for class dinners! Even though it was a weekday with only children and parents as customers, the place could allow it, but the staff isn't used to it! It's a shame.

02/05/2026: Very nice place, impeccable service, good food, and I really like the gluten-free pizza, even though they use a crust. The other night they didn't have the gluten-free tiramisu, but that's also a sign of authenticity and consistently fresh ingredients. Congratulations!

30/06/2026: Exceptional artisanal gelato. I live in Rome, and the gelato at Bar Voca remains one of the best I've ever had. The summer aperitivo on the outdoor seating is also very pleasant, as is the hot chocolate on chilly winter evenings.

07/06/2026: I remembered the historic Adriatica pizzeria. Now it's Esposito pizzeria, serving Neapolitan pizza. The atmosphere is Neapolitan (with photos of Naples that have little to do with the Adriatic...). Nothing special. The flavors are sparse and not very appealing. The person at the counter isn't friendly. Quite expensive (7.50 for a slice of pizza and an Icnusa beer).

22/04/2026: On Sunday, April 19th, my father died out there under the gazebo. You had neither the respect nor the decency to close that wing or lower a shutter! In fact, customers consumed as if nothing were happening near his body!!! Shameful to say the least! You've confirmed with this that the name you've kept is no guarantee of the quality it once was!

13/03/2026: Besides being a bar I enjoy stopping in when I'm in Chieti, I now appreciate them even more for tracking me down after I left a bag with my glasses. I'd asked in the wrong place, not knowing the name of the bar, but everything has a purpose...making me feel this immense gratitude for the find. Thank you 💖
