03/05/2026: I went to Essentiale with high expectations... and they were surpassed without further ado. The cuisine has a clear identity, you can taste it right away: few ingredients, well-prepared, with a precise idea behind each dish. You can really feel the craftsmanship; it's not the usual "tourist" fare. Among the dishes that stick in my mind: the cuttlefish tagliatelle with cacio e pepe, ink, and chives is incredible—creamy, intense, with that ink that amplifies everything without overpowering it. It's a dish I'd call brilliant! The handmade tagliatella with clams was delicious! The pasta was incredible, with the freshest clams. You can also sense so much attention to detail: homemade bread (and it shows), and young but attentive service. This is precisely why I struggle to understand some of the recent negative reviews I read online. In my experience, I found the cuisine to be thoughtful, coherent, and full of personality—which is far from a given, especially in an area so full of similar offerings. The service was attentive, young, but passionate and friendly. In my opinion, it's one of those places worth trying for yourself, without being overly influenced.

03/05/2026: I was visiting Venice as a tourist and discovered Essentiale almost by chance: one of the best dinners of my trip. A beautiful terrace overlooking the lagoon, a relaxed atmosphere, and truly well-crafted dishes. The cuttlefish “cacio e pepe” with squid ink was an incredible surprise, as was the homemade bread. And the tiramisu? The best I’ve ever had in my life. Honestly, after reading some negative reviews, I was a bit hesitant, but my experience was completely the opposite. If you’re looking for an authentic, refined place with a great view, this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit.

09/03/2026: If you want to drink a good beer (and maybe try some others, getting recommendations) and spend time in a family atmosphere, this is the place. I've been coming here for a long time and I have to say it's never disappointed me. Whether it's a sandwich, a bruschetta, or a dish, the quality is always the same. What can I say about the beers? Nothing! Denis knows how to satisfy even the most demanding and particular tastes. I challenge anyone to leave and say the beer wasn't good! For me, it continues to be a guarantee.

03/05/2026: A large café with plenty of seating both inside and outside. We only stopped for breakfast. The coffee and cappuccino were average, good but not exceptional. There's a wide variety of croissants, but they all use the same dough and little else (small pastries and muffins). The service staff is quick and professional.

05/04/2026: A truly unpleasant experience. Yesterday morning I went to this bar for breakfast, but unfortunately the payment completely ruined everything. The bill was €13, and I paid €20 in cash (I didn't have any smaller bills) plus €4 in coins, as the waitress needed them. Despite this, the waitress, with a rather arrogant attitude, began to insist that I hadn't given her the coins, questioning what I had just done. I find this behavior extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to the customer. It's truly annoying to be treated as if you're trying to cheat, especially when you're sure you paid correctly. It's a shame, because the breakfast itself wasn't bad, but the rudeness of the cashier staff definitely puts me off returning.

29/03/2026: We got a table without a reservation. The food was typical Venetian, with lots of sauces. The food was okay, but nothing special.

20/04/2026: Excellent food with paella on reservation, excellent grilled meat cooked on the spot before your eyes and tasty self-service vegetable side dishes at will

02/05/2026: Beautiful terrace restaurant overlooking Venice. You don't have to be a hotel guest to eat or drink. Attentive service and a daily and fixed menu are available.

05/05/2026: Nine of us had dinner. Everything was good and well-prepared, but within the norm. The service could perhaps be improved, given that the wait was a bit long (50 minutes) and that we didn't all dine together. We'll be back to try it again, hoping for an improvement.

04/05/2026: Great ambiance in the very cute ‘varanda’. Appetiser we had a superb warm octopus salad. We had the spagethi allo scoglio which was without a doubt the best I ever tasted - great amount of seafood and very fresh! The marination on this dish was also very tasty! we also had the bagoti with guancale e pepe, was also quite nice but not as an highlight as the seafood pasta 😊

03/05/2026: This morning, four of us had an aperitif at the outdoor tables while waiting for the First Communion children to emerge from the church. We were greeted by a rather rude and condescending gentleman. We ordered inside: two Spritzes and two Proseccos, which weren't Prosecco but sparkling white wine on tap. Fries were purchased separately. 18 euros total. To conclude, we still had to finish our drinks when we were asked to vacate the table because they were setting the table for lunch. The only consolation was the view of the church square and the beautiful sunny day!

26/04/2026: The place is nice and the staff is friendly. But the pizza is one of the worst I've ever eaten, and the prices are excessive. A pizza with ham, fries, and water costs €22.
