04/09/2025: With four friends, we wanted to spend a fun day while eating well... and this place exceeded our expectations... very well-kept, clean and fun location (there are only four beautiful rooms, so book in advance if you want to go). The dishes are spectacular: delicious appetizers with refined ingredients, delicious first courses, spectacular second courses of meat and fish, both raw and cooked (see photo). The meats are tender and the quality of the meat and fish is worthy of a starred restaurant... the desserts are divine, the selection of wines and beers recommended by a sommelier and the people are really sweet and kind, ample parking outside, we will be back.
24/08/2025: Stunning location, meticulously maintained down to the smallest details. My wife and I stopped for lunch. The service was perfect, the staff attentive and extremely kind, and the cuisine was top-notch. It deserved 5 stars. The owner was incredibly kind, and the atmosphere was truly pleasant. 15/09/2025: First of all, the staff is truly friendly and pleasant. The ingredients are top-notch. I couldn't find anything wrong with them. Everything was perfect. The selection of appetizers was sublime, and every course was of the highest quality, from the prosciutto crudo to the carne crudo with bagna cáuda. And considering the quantity and the second helpings offered, I would have been pleasantly full already. But I had the Fritto Misto alla Piemontese. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but it was so good I even had second helpings. The house wine was excellent, almost 3 liters. 🤗🤗... with coffee, grappa, and bitters. I just couldn't finish dessert, I was so full. The only downside is that I can't go every night.
The price? Considering the quality and quantity, we didn't spend much. Congratulations!! You are truly excellent!!

02/08/2025: Very warm and extremely friendly service. The food was very good, honest, without any pretense, highlighting the main ingredients and their flavors with sophisticated combinations – all at a fair price. A lot of passion and dedication was palpable. We would be happy to come back!

Aperto ad agosto tutti i giorni tranne lunedì e martedì...

We are now on our fourth visit to Castello di Montecavallo, and each time it is an unforgettable experience. We chose to celebrate my birthday here and, as always, everything was perfect.
The castle is a magical place, cared for down to the smallest details and managed with passion. Martina is an extraordinary hostess: she welcomes you with a smile and tells the story and the work behind each glass with contagious passion. The wine, needless to say, is simply incredible — each tasting is a journey through authentic aromas and flavors.
This time we wanted to complete the experience by sleeping a night in the B&B inside the estate. The rooms are large, elegantly furnished and perfectly in tune with the beauty of the place. The view of the greenery is picture-postcard, everything is kept with a care that can be felt everywhere.
In the morning we were greeted by a dream breakfast, prepared by Erica, who with sweetness and attention makes you start the day with a smile and many delights.
In summary? A place of the soul, where you can always return. Highly recommended.

28/08/2025: Unacceptable behavior by a waitress and the owner: avoid if you don't want to risk being mistreated.
We went there for a couple of beers, ordering the first ones at the bar. The waitress at the bar was grumpy (I read from other reviews that I'm not the first to write this) and, in keeping with her behavior, was wearing a T-shirt that said "I'm not in the mood." We sat down and ordered two more beers.
We were pleasantly surprised when another waitress brought us a small plate of Ascoli olives, smiling as she served them. We assumed they were a small snack on the house to accompany the beers.
After about twenty to half an hour, the grumpy waitress at the bar arrived and, very rudely, told us that those olives weren't for us, but for another table. We immediately told her we thought they were a snack to accompany the beers. We were taken aback by her attitude, but we assumed the matter was over since it was a staff mistake.
However, when it came time to pay, the owner charged us for the olives without even informing us first, passive-aggressively joking as he handed us the receipt about someone having "eaten someone else's food."
We felt truly insulted. It wasn't our fault—we had no way of knowing they weren't for us, and no one had told us anything at the time.
When we pointed this out, the owner responded defensively, derisively, and inappropriately, claiming that "if they didn't charge everyone, they'd lose money and have to close the place down" (remember, all this for four olives, and because of their mistake).
They eventually refunded us, but only after 15 minutes of unpleasant discussion.
It was a disappointing and frustrating experience, and a sad end to the evening. I've been to this bar several times, and this time they showed a complete lack of professionalism and respect. They lost two customers, and I will warn everyone I know. I've never experienced such treatment from a restaurant's staff, either in Italy or abroad. A place that puts profit and rudeness ahead of basic courtesy isn't worth your time. Avoid.

20/06/2025: Special and refined combinations, attention to local products and a good wine list that does not offer bottles that can now be defined as "banal" even if good, a discreet attention to those who have problems with gluten, mean that I will return even if with the fish there is still room for improvement given the good quality of the raw material.

21/07/2025: E’ una certezza. Ho pranzato almeno venti volte in questo ristorante negli ultimi dieci anni. Perfetto per un pranzo di lavoro come per un pranzo domenicale in famiglia. L’ultima volta era giugno e si mangia all’aperto, nella corte piena di piante e fiori. I piatti variano a seconda delle stagioni ma con costanti deliziose. Il servizio prevede una serie di importanti amouse bouche cui seguono i piatti scelti da ogni commensale e, dopo il dolce, una elaborata serie di pasticcini. Sommeiller è responsabile del servizio di rara simpatia. Tutto il personale è in ogni caso cortese.

Premetto che questa recensione è in linea con le aspettative che uno ha quando va a cenare in un ristorante 2 stelle Michelin.
Sabato 5 Luglio siamo andati a mangiare per festeggiare il compleanno di mio papĂ e di mia sorella
Sul cibo niente da dire, molto buono e ben curato, forse non troppo innovative le preparazioni, però tutto abbastanza in linea con un ristorante di questo livello.
Passiamo al servizio: TOTALMENTE INADEGUATO.
Il servizio è stato peggio di quello che si può ricevere in una trattoria di basso livello.
I camerieri, parlo al plurale, perché siamo stati serviti praticamente un po’ da tutti, per niente professionali.
Il burro è quasi stato letteralmente lanciato sul tavolo anziché adagiarlo con garbo.
Una cameriera che pareva quasi infastidita nel servire i tavoli, con tanto di sbuffi e bonfocchi.
Inoltre quando abbiamo preso l’ordinazione, abbiamo chiesto se era possibile ordinare i secondi in un successivo momento e ci è stato detto che non c’era nessun problema. Finiti i primi, al posto di chiederci se desideravamo un secondo, ci è stato sparecchiato l’intero tavolo portando via condimenti e pane.
Quando abbiamo detto che volevamo ordinare il secondo, ci è stato concesso ma ovviamente né il pane né i condimenti sono stati riportati
E infine ciliegina sulla torta, quando la cameriera è venuta a dirci dei dolci, ha detto a mia sorella che non avevano dolci senza latte , mia sorella però è celiaca e non intollerante al lattosio, quando le abbiamo ricordato la cosa, ha smadonnato per ben due volte.
Per un ristorante due stelle Michelin il servizio è totalmente inadeguato

07/09/2025: I had my birthday lunch at this fantastic location, with a stunning view and a delightfully quiet setting. The kindness of the staff and the mastery of the chef's dishes made for an unforgettable experience.
I definitely recommend it and would definitely return. It was truly a fantastic discovery.
