04/08/2025: In a Rome of stone and light, a stone's throw from that eternal heart that beats between Monti and the Quirinale, I rediscovered a discreet and refined gem: the Matermatuta restaurant. The atmosphere in the internal courtyard was suspended, thanks to a balmy, bright evening and impeccable service that welcomed without being intrusive, with sincere smiles and an elegant professionalism that can't be learned from a textbook. Then came the pink shrimp tartare. And here every word risks sounding like an exaggeration. But no. It was perfect in texture, fresh as the sea in the morning, delicate yet with a precise character, almost musical in the way it harmonized with the aromas of the dish and the sweet air of the courtyard. It wasn't just good: it was just right. That tartare spoke an ancient and simple language, that of the sea and the art of savoir faire. The restaurant is centrally located yet secluded, like those places that offer themselves to those who know how to look without haste. Inside, warm lights and refined spaces; Outside, a Roman corner that seems designed for slow conversations and toasts that come slowly. The entire staff moves with grace and ease: nothing is mechanical, everything is authentic. And this, in Rome, has a rare value. If I had to describe what elegance means to me, I'd say it's precisely this: a place where everything is carefully thought out but nothing is ostentatious. And in a city where the offerings are endless, finding a restaurant like Matermatuta is like finding a friendly face in the crowd. One of those who, once met, are never forgotten.

30/08/2025: A great find in San Vito Romano. A very well-maintained location, friendly and courteous staff, and excellent food. We loved the bingo game and the friendliness of the staff. Highly recommended.

27/08/2025: A Saturday evening with a bit of a bustle, service a bit slow, food quality was decent, with some dishes lacking in flavor, and a simple atmosphere. Prices were high for the location, service, and quality.

15/09/2025: We opted for the tasting menu recommended by the owner, and I must say we couldn't have made a better choice. The food was excellent, and with the tasting menu, we were able to try many more dishes than we would have with the à la carte menu. The owner is very cheerful and friendly. I definitely recommend it.

09/09/2025: Fantastic restaurant! We had the 4 course tasting menu for lunch. The food was incredible. The talented chef was extremely tentative and accommodating to our preferences. Moreover, she served my partner and I different primi and secondi courses so we had the benefit of trying 4 different courses between us. She also gave us some wonderful recommendations for sightseeing in the local area, which we would have totally missed otherwise. We had a great time exploring these in the afternoon and evening. Thank you!

24/08/2025: I just returned home after a four-day stay with my mom and my four-month-old baby, and I can only say I was pleasantly surprised. The location is truly a dream: surrounded by nature and cared for down to the smallest detail by Anna, who welcomed us with great care and helpfulness. From the freshly made, quality food cooked with passion by her, to the spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms that make you feel at home, to the splendid pool with a breathtaking view... everything speaks of the love and dedication Anna puts into her work, along with her staff, always discreet and never intrusive. What more can I say? It was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back! ❤️

16/07/2025: Potrei scrivere un poema o potrei essere estremamente sintetica e direi solo: una fiaba nel verde. Anna è una donna come poche, forte in gamba tenace e soprattutto bravissima .ottimo gusto in fatto dia tile, scelta degli ingredienti e del personale. Tutto sapeva di stupore. L'ottima cucina, la bellissima location, la pulizia in ogni dove, e non è facile quando un posto è davvero grande. Piscina bellissima con stupenda vista. Tutto nuovo, ben curato, attenzione per i dettagli, dalle.bustine di zucchero ai loghi nei tessuti a tavola, nelle tovaglie in camera, ai bicchieri. Tutto glicine e verde. Ordine e pulizia regano sovrane e la parole d'ordine è " pace" . Respiri un relax Senza pari, godi di un tramonto Senza eguali, mangi in modo sublime. Sei meglio che a casa, sei in un paradiso dove si prendono cura della tua anima..grazie Anna e grazie marco. Tornerò a riprendermi un po' di aria incontaminata.grazie Giovanna e Angela da trapani

31/08/2025: I love this place. I've been there several times, though I've personally been there less recently for other reasons. But I think it's beautiful and unique. 💪

24/08/2025: Today, after walking along the Chia waterfall and tower trail, we stopped for lunch at Rottezzia while strolling through the center of Soriano nel Cimino. The restaurant is beautiful, completely carved out of the tuff. One of the owners showed us around the restaurant. There's even a tunnel that descends 35 meters underground, once used as a cellar and later as a shelter during the war. Very impressive. We ate wonderfully. The tonnarelli cacio e pepe with guanciale and broad beans were out of this world. The wine was also excellent. The two guys who run the restaurant are very kind and professional. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you.

14/07/2025: The food was amazing, I've never eaten like this, not to mention the location, it was truly jaw-dropping.

09/07/2025: Consistently good cuisine, but with a few setbacks compared to the past I returned to Frantoio di Lubrano after some time, driven by the excellent memories of previous experiences. A restaurant nestled in the tranquility of the countryside, with a rustic and welcoming atmosphere, which had won me over in the past for both the quality of the dishes, the generous portions, and the variety of the offerings. Unfortunately, this time the experience fell a bit short of expectations. The quality of the cuisine remains good: the dishes are prepared with fresh and well-cooked ingredients, the flavors are authentic, and the attention to detail in the preparation is evident. However, what I noticed—and what made the difference—was a noticeable reduction in portions, which in the past were one of the restaurant's strong points. This time, the portion sizes were rather small, and in some cases barely adequate. Another slightly disappointing aspect was the menu, which seemed much more limited than usual. There was little choice, especially for first and second courses, and no real surprises or specials of the day. I understand the desire to focus on quality or seasonality, but such a limited menu makes it harder to find something to please everyone, especially during a dinner with friends or family. The service was courteous and prompt, as always, and the staff was helpful and friendly. The atmosphere remains pleasant: refined, quiet, and perfectly in keeping with the setting. The atmosphere, therefore, continues to have its charm. I sincerely hope it was a special evening or a temporary phase, because Frantoio di Lubrano has everything it takes to offer a high-quality experience, as it has always done in the past. I will definitely give it another chance, hoping to rediscover the mix of abundance, variety, and flavor that made it a must-visit in the area.

09/09/2025: The place is nothing special, and the cuisine is very Sardinian. The food: the appetizer, a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, was presented in a way that was unpleasant and tasteless. The braised beef, which should have been cooked in Vernaccia, was very questionable; it tasted like a classic boiled meat in broth, and was flavorless. The pork shank with potatoes was good. The 375cl Cannonau wine was delicious. I would have expected something more from Sardinian cuisine. The price was a bit high for what I mentioned above.

06/09/2025: Nice place and fast, professional service. We ate very well, perhaps a little expensive, but the quality was high.

18/07/2025: Beautiful restaurant with tables in the Torre Lavello square, offering a wonderful view of the hills opposite. The staff are attentive, friendly, and professional, yet make you feel at home. Impeccable service, with meticulous attention to detail. The quality of the food is excellent, and you can taste the local ingredients, as the flavor is unique. Highly recommended for both a romantic dinner and a family dinner with children (the menu offers a varied selection of first and second courses, including meat and fish, and even the truly delicious pizza). The friendly and welcoming owners gave us tips on nearby attractions and a smattering of Tuscania's history. Highly recommended!
