14/06/2025: We stumbled upon Bar Moka by chance because everything else was closed for lunch. We were won over by the extremely friendly and enterprising owner, who seems to be there day and night, the motivated team, the delicious baked goods (everything is still available in the evening!), the creamy ice cream, the super-fast and friendly service, and the absolutely authentic, relaxed atmosphere. We were in Crotone for several days and were there every day. We'll be back! Best wishes from your German rum ball friends.
04/05/2025: Comprato un bel vassoio di pasticcini freschi , buoni . Però le dimensioni della paste sono piuttosto grandi e l' assortimento dei tipi e dei ripieni non è molto vario . I prezzi in compenso , paragonati a quelli di qualsiasi località del nord , sono straordinariamente bassi ( 20 euro al kg ) . Personale gentile .

Hotel Residence Ristorante Il Gabbiano

26/08/2025: We spent fourteen days at this residence, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. Starting with the sewer smell in the room every day, which they explained to us was due to nearby drains (I would have liked to know this before arriving). The cleanliness of the rooms needs to be improved, the sheets sometimes had holes in them, and sometimes they weren't changed.
The breakfast service was terrible for a 4-star hotel, so much so that we only used it for a few days, then we left. There's little supervision from the staff in general throughout the property. The location is beautiful, but poorly managed. Our holiday was saved by the lounge bar area, where we were pampered with delicious cocktails and platters. The staff were kind and super helpful. The beach is very beautiful, but in Calabria, when it comes to the sea, there's not much to say; it's a shame about everything else.
It's a property we definitely won't return to.
25/08/2025: The structure, staff, services, and high-quality cuisine, all bathed in a wonderful sea, are the best you can find on a vacation.
An experience to repeat.

Refined cuisine, a refined and elegant atmosphere, and quality service.
The waiters were all very friendly, with a special mention for Kevin, who gave us excellent advice on which wine to pair with our dinner.

31/12/2024: Mi recavo in questo ristorante attratto dalle recensioni molto positive. Partiamo dalla location, veramente elegante e suggestiva, atmosfera calda ed accogliente.
Il loro forte sono gli antipasti, davvero eccellenti. Abbiamo mangiato tra le altre cose, delle polpette sia fritte che al sugo davvero ottime, molto buona anche la polenta servita con funghi, affettati di alta qualità. Abbiamo continuato con i primi, ottimi i cavatelli fatti a mano con ragù, seguiti dagli gnocchi con fonduta di formaggio e pistacchio di bronte. Abbiamo assaggiato anche dei paccheri con funghi serviti sempre su fonduta di formaggio. Devo dire che lo chef ha un amore particolare dalla scelta presente, dei formaggi fusi, magari direi di non esagerare con questa tipologia di piatti, ma è una mia opinione, naturalmente. Ampia scelta di carni alla brace, ma non ci siamo arrivati, poiché l’ antipasto è davvero abbondante. Ottimo anche il dolce, anche se non di produzione propria. Dovessi ritornare, punterei sui funghi, il proprietario ha una grande passione. Tutto ottimo comunque. Servizio attento e cordiale. Il migliore in zona, sicuramente ed ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
30/12/2024: un bel ristorante anche se visto da fuori non sembra curato e piccolino , ma inaspettatamente all' interno e' un classico ristorante di montagna, curato e piacevole e spazioso. Personale super accogliente e del mestiere ,ti consigliano e ti guidano nella degustazione dei piatti che propongono gli chef. Ovviamente non può mancare il porcino in tutte le sue forme e il tartufo. Vino Rosato della casa scende bene. Antipasto della casa davvero ricco e gustoso.

22/08/2025: At the recommendation of some local friends, we went to dinner at this restaurant. The location overlooks Ciró Marina, offering a charming view, and the staff were welcoming. The appetizers, featuring local produce, were sublime, but unfortunately, they used frozen products, which you wouldn't expect in a seaside town. The fried calamari was inedible. Overall, we had a good time, but I wouldn't return.
17/08/2025: Unacceptable service!!! Disorganized and rude! In two hours, we only ate the appetizer. Don't go! I highly recommend not going!

06/09/2025: Good, but not great! Good food, the starters are better than the main courses, but the fried fish needs a rethink. Either the plate is too big, or the portion is too small! Waiters shouldn't stand around chatting on the stairs, and then, what a terrible mistake! They don't clear the table until everyone at the table has finished eating. They should know this! Also, don't abandon a table, especially if it's a quiet evening and there are plenty of waiters. Just one person taking orders is not enough; you can't wait almost half an hour to order!

22/08/2025: The view from the roof terrace is fantastic; you can see the entire bay.
The food and the ambiance were very good.
We barely had to wait.
However, the service was as some of us have complained about...
After the food arrived, it was difficult to get staff to take your order.
Parking is available about a 10-minute walk from the harbor or a little closer on the streets that are still passable.
20/08/2025: As a Neapolitan, I can say that this isn't "real Neapolitan pizza." We ordered takeout. One was hot, the other almost cold. The dough was a bit undercooked and didn't rise well, hard to digest. The tomato sauce was acidic, and there wasn't much oil.

31/07/2025: We had a truly impeccable culinary experience. From the warm welcome to the attentive and friendly service, everything was simply excellent. Each dish elegantly and authentically showcased the richness of Calabrian tradition, and beyond, revisited with great care and creativity. The intense yet balanced flavors, the extraordinary quality of the ingredients, and the meticulously crafted presentation made the dinner a true journey through the region's finest.
The wine pairing was another highlight: each glass perfectly enhanced the flavors of the dish, demonstrating the meticulous selection of local wines.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for their professionalism, passion, and smiles throughout the evening. A special thanks to Giuseppe, whose expertise and kindness made the experience even more enjoyable.
We will definitely be back!
16/07/2025: Impeccable, unobtrusive service, a refined and elegant venue, and top-notch dishes. We chose "Barefoot on the Sand," a surprise menu that truly surprised. Eight delicious courses were chosen by the chef, except for the dessert, which I chose and which was truly a treat. It's definitely a place I recommend and would gladly return to. Congratulations, chef, and goodbye.

12/09/2025: We ordered a mixed platter and bruschetta. The food was quite good and satisfying. The service was good.
10/09/2025: We had a great time. The place is small, with outdoor tables overlooking the main street, which is full of cute cafes and shops, so it's a busy area. We came for a light meal, and despite it being quite busy, they served us promptly, were kind, and attentive to our requests. The platters were well-presented, featuring a variety of high-quality local products; the bergamot honey was amazing. The price was fair: two platters, drinks, and bread for €37.

28/08/2025: I have known the place for over 10 years now, excellent quality... courtesy, excellent service... dishes that only you can taste... terra cotta lamb... a world heritage site ❤️ the thing that surprised them the most is certainly the integration of "SPECIAl" kids who are allowed to feel an integral part of the world of work... ..❤️ from the kitchen to the tables... kids who with their smile fill your heart making us experience an absolutely familiar context and not at all taken for granted in today's society... which instead of valorizing these kids... from whose sensitivity we have so much to learn... sometimes marginalizes them. much honor to the whole team but especially to the boss❤️❤️❤️
