Although there was considerable confusion, we were served in an acceptable time. The tables are outdoors on the main street of Chianalea.
We ordered the tasting platter, the Calabria Slowfood dish and a simple focaccia to accompany, all good.
It is a valid alternative for lunch if you are in the area for a walk.

We quickly stopped to eat for lunch before continuing with our activities, very friendly waiters, excellent cold cuts and cheese platter, wonderful bergamot spritz. Good value for money. I'll come with more time next summer!

What a lovely and unexpected place in Scilla! We were looking for a shop with a typical calabrese products and that’s how we got there. Delicious food and a great selection of wines from the region. And absolutely outstanding hospitality of Signora Barbara! Thank you 🙏

Besökte Casa Vela i juli och det var en av våra bästa minnen från vår resa till Italien. Atmosfären är magisk i byn. Rummet vi bokat var perfekt och utsikten från vår balkong var underbar. Rent, städat och mysigt. Servicen var så bra, bästa tänkbara. Frukosten vi fick avnjuta på morgonen var alldeles lagom och god, ett stort plus att det fanns glutenfria alternativ att beställa. På kvällarna drack vi vin och åt charkuteri som vi var väldigt nöjda med.

Aperitivo con due calici di vino, esito: vini buoni, ma è indecente che ci abbiano portato patatine e arachidi confezionate (e, queste ultime, praticamente sottovuoto)…anche l’occhio vuole la sua parte, soprattutto a Chianalea. Basterebbe qualche accorgimento per la presentazione e l’inserimento di qualche stuzzichino in più…
Inoltre, avremmo voluto assaggiare una lestopitta, ma ci hanno detto che sarebbe stato possibile solo a pranzo (erano le 18:00 di domenica e ci hanno riferito che la cucina quella sera non avrebbe mai aperto).
