22/07/2025: The rooms are cosy with nice view but, construction site next door, main road, long walk to town, small stairs difficult with luggage. The breakfast was nice but you should be allowed to help yourself. I don't accept the hygene argument. Utensils are a wonderful thing. The food in the restaurant was about average food but double the price of others we found and small portions. The owner may be somewhat out of touch with their competition.

30/05/2025: An awkward experience at best, where they pack the restaurant like sardines while the other half sits empty. Weirdest thing. Some of the servers are rude and make you feel like you are in the way although you are just trying to pay for the meal. Would not recommend.

21/04/2025: Male Evidentemente pensano che visto il nome possano chiedere gli stessi soldi di un ristorante stellato ma allora dovrebbero garantire lo stesso servizio e la stessa qualità. Il cibo è stato anche buono, i formaggi in particolare, ma il servizio è stato inqualificabile. La sala era nel caos e tutti i commensali si sono lamentati. Hanno anche richiesto una caparra con la carta di credito per prenotare e quando sono arrivata mi sarei aspettata quantomeno le basi del servizio della ristorazione.

Snack bar excellent for a stop, surrounded by greenery, few tables inside but veranda quite large, green area for children, friendly staff, prices more or less average, service times vary from season to season, generally there is not much to wait, but it is subjective. 21/02/2025: Stunning location, very nice cabin. For the rest, 2 stars are too many. Poor offer of food and drinks, for the aperitif 4 chips and that's it, opening hours suitable only for grandparents and children (and they have also removed the games for the little ones who were there before)

03/05/2025: Chiamo alle 9 per prenotare ma non risponde nessuno, ovviamente era troppo presto, verso le 10:30 mi richiamano dal ristorante: servizio eccezionale che già merita la visita. Alle 12 ci accomodiamo al meraviglioso tavolo sul laghetto, prima cosa portano l’acqua alla nostra cagnolina ( top!) il menu e’ molto accattivante, opto per il carciofo e le fantastiche patatine fritte con la buccia; ci portano un amuse bouche eccezionale che già di per se vale l’intero pranzo per non parlare della bontà del carciofo e delle patatine, concludiamo con un bombardino con mele alla grappa delizioso. Il tutto accompagnato dalla gentilezza, simpatia e professionalità della titolare. Tutto perfetto anzi di più

10/03/2025: Il migliore ma il personale è maleducato. Premetto che ogni anno a marzo, nel corso della settimana bianca, andiamo una sera a cena. Sono ormai diversi anni. Qualità eccezionale, ricercatezze e rivisitazione di piatti tradizionali. Prenoto in genere 15 giorni prima di andare i ristoranti per tutta la settimana. Ho chiamato e prenotato per questa sera. Devo evidentemente avere fatto confusione perché ricevo alle 20:30 una telefonata piuttosto sgarbata della signora che esclama: è lei la signora laura? Sa che avrebbe dovuto essere qui da una mezz’ora almeno? Mortificata rispondo che ero certa di avere ricevuto una telefonata di disdetta. Ero infatti a cena in altro ristorante. Insisto, in totale buonafede, e la signora esclama: la smetta di mettere delle scuse! Nelle mie prenotazioni avevo ricevuto due disdette ed ero certa che una fosse di questo ristorante. Mi scuso ancora, ma avrei voluto mandarla a quel paese. Ma che modi? Ma che gente? Ma quanta prosopopea e maleducazione! A cortina di ristoranti eccellenti ce ne sono e, davvero, sono anni che ceniamo al Pianozes. Da oggi, non più.

23/04/2025: Il rifugio gode del nome per via della storicità e della posizione; personale nel complesso cortese, location molto bella (scomodi i tavoli per via della struttura sottostante ingombrante), cibo non all’altezza del contesto (anche se non ho avuto modo di provare molti piatti).

10/07/2025: A wine bar run by a conscientious owner. The wine list is excellent. If you feel hesitant to order a whole bottle, I recommend trying a glass. Trust the owner's taste.

06/07/2025: I just opened a business next to this Enoteca which is located in Corso Italia 137 just down a few steps next to the municipal fountain. I met the owner and I went to lunch to eat an excellent tartare, delicate with a right balance of the condiments that composed it. The menu also offered cutting boards of researched cured meats with particular seasonings to make them sophisticated, I would have tried them all, but I will save them for the next time. The proposals differ from the commercial ones found in traditional bars where you don't even know where the cured meats come from and often you know to have more margins you don't offer quality. Of course you have to know about it to taste the products offered and not all palates can interpret their refinement well. The environment is absolutely relaxing and offers tables in the shade of a beautiful tree. The price is in line with the quality offered.

06/04/2025: Non lo consiglio, noi abbiamo preso delle tagliatelle con i funghi ma non avevano di niente, poi abbiamo preso anche una cotoletta di vitello con patatine e mi portano un pezzo di “carne” cotto nel olio che non so che carne era, il tagliere dei affettati era buono…..

20/03/2025: Este restaurante en Cortina es muy grande con muchas mesas, así que a pesar de no haber reservado pudimos cenar después de esperar un poco de cola. Tienen una gran variedad de pizzas, estaban muy ricas y también la panna cota.

22/03/2025: Ho tanti bei ricordi legati al Rifugio Scoiattoli, dove vado abitualmente fin da quando ero piccola con i miei genitori, ma il trattamento di sabato 15 marzo è stato molto deludente. La direttrice di sala e una delle cameriere ci hanno trattato con scortesia e prepotenza, evidentemente con l'obiettivo di far mangiare il maggior numero di persone nel minor tempo possibile e liberare i tavoli velocemente. Nonostante fosse in corso una nevicata e stessimo aspettando un’amica in arrivo, una delle cameriere ci ha intimato di mangiare in mezz’ora, una richiesta che non è stata fatta agli altri tavoli arrivati dopo di noi. La situazione è degenerata con un'aggressione verbale della direttrice di sala, solo perché cercavamo di fare partire l’ordine della nostra amica un po' dopo il nostro, per far sì che potesse mangiare al suo arrivo. Nonostante avessimo ordinato vari piatti e dolci, ci continuavano a mettere sotto pressione per liberare il tavolo, anche se ci stavamo mettendo lo stesso tempo degli altri tavoli (in tutto un'ora e 10 minuti, incluso il pagamento del conto). A un certo punto, la direttrice ci ha detto, in malo modo e con toni alti, che forse avremmo dovuto andare a mangiare in un ristorante stellato. Questo trattamento ha rovinato la percezione di un posto a cui eravamo affezionate e non è certo il trattamento accogliente che ci si aspetta nelle Dolomiti. Non è ammissibile trattare male i clienti e mettere questo tipo di pressione per accomodare più persone possibili. La reputazione che il rifugio si era costruita era basata sulla qualità del cibo e l’accoglienza. Si invita la direzione a una seria riflessione su che tipi di trattamenti e messaggi vogliono mandare ai clienti.

16/03/2025: Estábamos de excursión en la zona de montaña Cinque Torri y paramos para almorzar aquí como nos recomendó nuestra recepcionista del hotel. Era un día soleado glorioso, así que estaban muy ocupados. Por suerte consiguieron encontrarnos una mesa fuera de la cual era perfecto. ¡Tenía los mejores raviolis caseros de remolacha! De hecho, todos los platos que se estaban sacando se ven fantásticos. El pan era excelente también - siempre el signo de un buen restaurante. Recomendaría encarecidamente este rifugio para el almuerzo en las montañas!

24/06/2025: Would have given this a 5 star review but there was a couple of issues for improvement. In the bar, a local came in and it appeared he was trying to scam drinks from American visitors. It made several uncomfortable. The staff kind of laughed at him, but they probably should have asked him to stop or leave. He eventually left on his own. The safe didn't work and a staff member had to be called whenever it needed opened. Other than these two things, the hotel hit all marks and was excellent.

19/06/2025: After returning to Cortina from our hike to Lake Sorapis, my friend and I were both hungry and in need of some refreshment. We enjoyed a late lunch at Pontejel Bierstube Forst (which I highly recommend), followed by a celebratory drink at Hotel Poste to mark the end of a memorable day. Unfortunately, our experience at Hotel Poste was marred by the oddly discourteous behavior of one of the waitstaff. While the waitress who initially served us was lovely, the waiter who later attended to us displayed a level of rudeness that felt entirely unwarranted. Over the course of two hours, each of us had two Limoncello Spritzes and one glass of wine—hardly an excessive amount, and certainly not indicative of disruptive behavior. As two quiet English women, we were simply sitting and enjoying our drinks in peace. However, when we placed our order for a third drink, the waiter abruptly told us to "slow down," offering no justification for the comment. It felt accusatory and out of place, especially given our calm demeanor. The situation escalated further when I politely asked for the bill and requested to see the card machine to confirm the total. In response, the waiter dismissively thrust the receipt into my lap with a terse “see,” implying I had questioned the cost—which I hadn’t. My friend and I were left perplexed by the entire encounter. We’ve speculated on possible reasons for his attitude—perhaps our appearance after a long hike gave a misleading impression, or perhaps there were assumptions made about us personally. While we can’t say for certain, the experience left us feeling judged and unwelcome. In summary, while Hotel Poste may offer a picturesque setting, I would caution others who value respectful, inclusive service. There are plenty of other venues in Cortina where hospitality and professionalism are still taken seriously. P.S. The limoncello spritzes earned the 1 star

15/05/2025: Gestión grosera. Servidor amigable la única vez que la vimos. Servicio totalmente indiferente. La comida estaba bien. La noche anterior, los dos habíamos entrado a las 7:00: 30 pm y fueron firmemente castigados que el restaurante estaba cerrado! No hay problema. Entendimos que era un lugar pequeño, así que hicimos una reserva para la noche siguiente. Llegué a tiempo y estaban sentados en la esquina detrás del perchero en una mesa para un grupo más grande a pesar de que sabían que solo éramos dos. No hay problema. El pan de una cesta se caía sin platos hasta que, después de muchos minutos, pedí platos y un poco de aceite. No hay problema. Pedimos uno de los cinco vinos tintos del menú. Después de unos minutos, nos dijeron que estaba terminado. No hay problema. Pedí un plato estándar de pasta. Después de un rato, me dijeron que estaba terminado. De nuevo, no hay problema. Un servidor diferente dejó caer nuestra comida y nunca regresó. Nos sentamos un rato y finalmente nos pusimos las chaquetas como para irnos, y apareció un servidor diferente con el cheque. Nunca nos preguntó sobre el postre, cómo fue su comida, gracias por venir. No hubo contacto visual cuando nos fuimos. Experiencia deliberadamente negativa que la dirección creó. No estoy seguro de lo que hicimos mal aparte de aparecer a tiempo para la cena.

20/04/2025: Platos de menú deplorables. El risotto de carta pasable pero crudo. Y música de reguetón durante toda la comida... volver a Dolomitas sí. A este restaurante jamás. Recomendable ayunar.
