27/09/2025: Dont often review, only if something comes up outstanding! Room cheaper than others in area but immaculate and spacious. The real fun comes with the food! Ive done a lot of travelling and restaurants, though not an expert but know ( at least i think 😀 i know! quality. I pinched myself from laughing at the level of taste, Michelin level, local produce, precise cooking, master level recipes, Partridge 3 ways smoked in local herbs, cheese selection 2 year aged Fontina and 5 year aged Parmegiano for example.

12/09/2025: We got takeout twice. The owner recommended this place, and I must say we weren't disappointed! The food was generous and the quality excellent! I'd definitely go back!

01/10/2025: Reachable from both the Oropa sanctuary in the Biella area and the Gressoney Valley in the Aosta Valley. Starting from Coumarial, follow a path through the woods, but you can also take the farm road. The hike takes about 3 hours, even less if you're a bit fit. The refuge, practically a small hotel, is made of stone and can be glimpsed as you reach the hill above the small dam. Camouflaged and very beautiful. Super welcoming, excellent lunch with plenty of choice. A mountain setting with beautiful lakes. The circular route is interesting: Coumarial-Oropa or vice versa if there's the possibility of being accompanied and picked up by car. September 2025

16/09/2025: The refuge is located along the Alta Via 1. It stands out for its architecture and location. It is well-maintained, clean, and tidy. A beautiful and welcoming refuge. The staff and the refuge manager are passionate about their work, and hospitality is undoubtedly a strong point. The dishes served are of excellent quality and variety. The cellar is well-stocked, and you can order wine by the glass. The price includes a varied and plentiful sweet and savory breakfast, a three-course dinner, a first course and a second course with a side dish of your choice, at least three different options for each course. The portions are adequate, along with a choice of dessert, and three types of bread. Drinks are not included. A hot shower is included with no time limit. The bathrooms are clean and spacious. The rooms are heated. Boots can be left outside, on a designated rack at the entrance, and several pairs of slippers are available. Absolutely flawless! Highly recommended.

24/09/2025: I've been going to this place for years, more often lately because I work nearby. Alas, I won't be going there again. Lately, I've been treated badly, with the owner making us feel uncomfortable by taking away our unfinished dishes, rushing us to order. Yesterday, I found a hair in my food, and the waiter mocked me. Naturally, I paid the bill without even an apology from the owner. Furthermore, they now cook with margarine (a fact confirmed by the owner), and as you can imagine, the taste of the dishes I've always enjoyed is unpleasant. I'm sorry, but you've lost a longtime customer.

02/07/2025: Lasciare lo Stefenelli desk è stato quasi traumatico, come atterrare dopo un volo indimenticabile. Non è un ristorante per tutti i giorni, ma un'esperienza da regalarsi (o da regalare!) quando si cerca qualcosa di veramente straordinario. È il tipo di posto che ti fa riconsiderare cosa sia possibile fare con il cibo, spingendo i confini del gusto verso dimensioni inesplorate. In poche parole: se siete pronti a un'avventura culinaria che vi farà toccare le stelle con la lingua, lo Stefenelli desk è la vostra prossima destinazione! Non posso che raccomandarlo con ogni fibra del mio essere. Andateci, e preparatevi al decollo!

02/10/2025: We were here this evening, having been referred to us through an acquaintance. We had fondue and polenta from the Aosta Valley. Unfortunately, the flavors were a bit bland, probably due to the Fontina cheese not being aged for long enough. The waiter was very professional, but unfortunately, the chef should be in the kitchen instead of in the dining room, as happened at times, with an inappropriate attitude. The food was mediocre, prices average. I probably won't be back.

21/09/2025: The food is decent but not making Wi-Fi available to customers is just not a good idea (since there is no cell phone coverage). I wouldn't go back there again.

21/09/2025: An easy, almost flat walk through stunning scenery. The refuge is beautiful, and the food is top-notch: the polenta concia and desserts are excellent. Go and you'll be happy and satisfied.

03/10/2025: A wide selection of delicious sandwiches, carefully crafted down to the smallest detail, with a variety of flavor combinations. Recommended beers to complement each sandwich. Welcoming place, knowledgeable staff. Excellent experience.

13/07/2025: Très beau restaurant, décor soigné. La cuisine est raffinée et le choix des vins intéressant. Le service est moyen car le sourire ne semble pas être la marque du lieu. Néanmoins, si vous logez dans le village ou dans la forteresse, c’est ce restaurant qu’il faut choisir.

16/10/2025: We ate at this trattoria on Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was fully booked, but the service, which was initially slow (though we had requested a soufflé, which requires cooking on the spot), was quick and punctual. We ate well, with refined, home-style cooking. I personally enjoyed their mixed salad, which I made again for my family when we returned from vacation. Excellent value. Recommended.

29/09/2025: For work, I spent three days in the beautiful village of La Magdeleine. I only tried the restaurant (not the hotel). The dishes are all excellent and plentiful, with the pork cheeks standing out. The staff is always kind and attentive to every request. It's definitely worth trying again and again.
