Years of Matera tradition where bread, focaccia and biscuits have an exceptional flavour, a place where the eyes, nose and taste buds want their share😃😃😃 Chapeau

03/05/2025: An experience that teaches how much the way we feel welcomed matters. Saturday evening, 7.30pm. A friend and I enter the Ducale Ristorante & Pizzeria in Irsina, we smile, we greet with a simple and genuine "Good evening". The answer? A dry, cold and almost aggressive "Say!", pronounced by a man behind the counter, as if our greeting were an annoyance and not an act of education. We ask: “A table for two, please.” Without really looking at us, he replies icily: “At 8pm.” And he sends us away. In that moment, more than rejected, we felt invisible. The "no" is not the problem. It's as they say. It is the absence of empathy, of respect, of minimal human hospitality. The mind records these experiences more than one imagines: a door that closes, a wrong tone, one gesture too many can leave their mark. Yet, it was 7.30pm, and Google clearly indicates that the place is open from 6.30pm to 12am. The refusal was not justified by any rule, but only by an attitude. Welcoming isn't just serving food, it's creating connections. It's about making people feel welcome. And in this, unfortunately, the Ducale failed completely.

09/06/2025: Not good. Picked up a few pieces of focaccia for lunch around 1pm and it was inedible so stale and tough! The one we had left from yesterday afternoon was still much better!

04/12/2024: I was in Montescaglioso with a group and we had the pleasure of having lunch at the Rock Oasis. The experience was fantastic. The welcome was impeccable: the staff, in particular Stefano, was attentive, kind and ready to satisfy our every need. Lunch was excellent, with typical traditional Lucanian dishes prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. The quiet and family atmosphere made the moment truly special. We also visited the surrounding area and the rooms of the farmhouse: simple, but with that touch of ''rusticity''. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic cuisine and a welcome that makes you feel at home. The icing on the cake was the large fireplace, further warming the Christmas atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

06/05/2025: We came across this restaurant, passing by it caught our attention... and I must say that the choice to have lunch there was more than right. An excellent restaurant from all points of view. Food, staff, location all perfect. We will certainly return to Matera to try other specialties in this sublime place. Compliments!!

08/06/2025: ❌ Il Pasticcio by name… and unfortunately also by fact. An experience to forget. If you are looking for a pizzeria in Matera where you can spend a pleasant evening, with fast service, tasty pizzas and impeccable organization… I strongly advise you NOT to choose Il Pasticcio. ✅ We had organized everything in detail: there were 39 of us, with advance reservations and a menu agreed upon as we arrived. ❌ They made us wait more than an hour before starting to serve (while other tables were served before us). ❌ The chips were burnt, without salt. ❌ The pizza was excessively salty and of poor quality. ❌ The bruschetta arrived cold and late. ❌ We asked for water several times and no one bothered to bring it carefully. And as if that wasn't enough… 💸 They also got the final bill wrong, calculating 42 people instead of 39. Result? I personally had to cover the difference due to their mistake. No apologies, no solution. Only confusion and approximation. 🤯 Have you ever had the feeling of not being listened to, of being invisible as a customer? Here. This was the dominant effect of the evening. 📍 In a world where competition is high and it takes very little to make a service special, here I found disorganization, lack of attention and a total lack of professionalism. Those who love good pizza and respect for the customer... should look elsewhere. With a disappointed heart (and wallet), we will not return. 📌 Review left by someone who has personally experienced an experience that no one should have in a public place. UPDATED REVIEW - RESPONSE TO THE PLACE'S REPLY I am writing this reply for the sake of clarity, without controversy, but with respect for the reader. During the evening, the waiter told us a fee of 15 euros per person. Some participants, having to return home early for work reasons, paid and left the restaurant. Later, when it came to the bill, a greater number of covers was counted than the actual number present, causing a misalignment in the accounts. To resolve the situation, I personally added 3 installments of 15 euros to cover the error, even though it was not my responsibility. The initial request was for a per capita bill, precisely to avoid confusion. Furthermore, despite having declared a lactose intolerance, I was served a pizza declared "lactose-free" which caused a significant physical reaction, preventing me from working the following day. I did not want to report this episode, but in light of the response received, I believe it is right to clarify this point as well. I chose not to proceed with formal reports, trusting in good faith and in the possibility that a civil report stimulates reflection and improvement. A review is a tool for protection, not an attack. 08/06/2025: Excellent quality food, welcoming and polite staff, excellent value for money. The waiters were very helpful and friendly, especially Fiorella, Massimo and Claudio.

12/05/2025: MI hanno proposto un percorso gastronomico composto da 4 antipasti ed un primo ai quali i ho aggiunto il dolce. Le portate tutte di ottima fattura, intrecci di gusti interessanti e golosi. Ho particolarmente apprezzato gli involtini di melanzane con mortadella e besciamella al pistacchio e la pasta fresca con pesto di agrumi e veli di zucchine fritte. Non posso infine non apprezzare il rapporto qualità/prezzo. Molto bello anche il panorama se si prende un tavolo all'esterno o in veranda.
