26/07/2024: Nothing to note negatively. It was not the first experience but nevertheless the first time of the evening (Thursday) exclusively Japanese cuisine. Knowing the chef from the other restaurant in Lucca, Nidia, which is only Japanese, we expected the confirmation which promptly arrived. Particularly appreciated in summer since you dine outdoors.

15/08/2024: I'm surprised to see such positive reviews, I went for lunch and ate terrible, pre-cooked pasta and every sauce tastes the same. Maybe in the evening we eat better, I don't know, but the menu of the day is horrendous.

07/08/2024: We ate the famous steak here during our holiday. It is advisable to verify approximately how much you want to eat. We were served a steak weighing over 2.1 kilos (two adults and two children). The meat was delicious and well prepared, but way too much. The meat is also good red on the inside, you have to like this.

10/08/2024: The new management has recovered the initial confusion, but has not been able to maintain the quality of the cooking, made of traditional local flavors enriched by the flavors of wild herbs, mastery of the previous cooks Paola and sister-in-law. The famous frantoiana is different, less dense and tasty, the cod of a strange pink color has no flavor and the cod, cooked in various ways, was the main dish! The fried fish is not crunchy and just not good. The rabbit and chicken are fine, but some side dishes are also not good, such as sautéed herbs, mushy and too wet, certainly not sautéed. In the previous management the side dishes were carefully prepared, fresh and delicious (sweet and sour vegetables, various flans, stuffed vegetables, fennel au gratin...) Furthermore, the lady who coordinates, in addition to working hard, with her constant shouting towards the kitchen and the waiters produces a sense of anxiety in the customers who don't know whether they will eat or not! Well done guys who wait at the silent and efficient tables Given the commitment that the new managers are putting into improving management, I hope to recover the kitchen's mistakes, perhaps with the help of the previous chefs, who were truly very good at calibrating the good flavors of tradition and what the fields offer.

17/06/2024: I visited here 2 days to grab a panini for lumch and i ended up walking out both days with lots more to eat as it all looked incredible. Friendly staff, good seating options inside and out. The pastries and my panini was lovely.

07/07/2024: In this pizzeria you can enjoy excellent pizzas. The burgers are also very tasty and well made. It has a couple of internal rooms, and a good plus is also having many places where you can park your car right next to the place.

21/06/2024: Recently visited this charming restaurant and couldn't recommend it highly enough! Just on the outskirts of Lucca, the views of the countryside were lovely and the venue had a really authentic and local feel. It turned out that a lot of the clientele were indeed local, which is hardly surprising, as they must know what a gem they have in their midst. It was a bit of a foodie's paradise. We asked for a selection of dishes from the menu that the chef and staff recommended, and they did not disappoint. We were treated to a seafood risotto and assorted fried and battered seafood which was super fresh, what with the coast only being a few miles away. The risotto was perfectly cooked, as was the unbelievably tender steak we were served next, and finally a beautiful meat ravioli which was a highlight and apparently a regional speciality. To be honest, all of the dishes were great examples of the authentic local cuisine, as the restaurant prides itself in honest, rustic food typical of the region, representing it's history of culinary delights. You could tell from the warm welcome we received and the attentive service from the staff (and chef, who took the time to come and speak to us) that everyone involved with the venue was proud of the place, and the food, and took ownership of the restaurant. The same amount of care put into choosing our meal was also put into recommending the local wines to pair with it. The wine was perfect and the experience was sublime. In conclusion, if you are ever out this way, come and dine here. They will not disappoint. Thank you, we will be visiting again!
