27/10/2025: Every visit to the funny crocodile is an experience! The atmosphere alone is special. Peter's service is personal and makes you feel right at home. The menu is small but delicious, and Stefan cooks the best lasagna ever (but he's not the only one ☺️). A must-visit on any holiday in Kaltern!

15/10/2025: During our vacation in South Tyrol, we found this small restaurant on Goldgasse in Kaltern. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food: tortellini filled with porcini mushrooms and truffle foam, and very well-filled herb pasta. We sat across from the restaurant in a small garden with only five tables. It was incredibly cozy and elegantly set, and the weather was perfect on October 15th. A dream, with very friendly service. Thank you, it was a very nice lunch.

23/10/2025: The dumplings in broth could definitely be improved (the dumplings were too soft, the broth was rather bland); the grilled carne salada with beans was decent, and the mixed grilled vegetables were average. The service was prompt, and the bill was overall fair.

09/11/2025: Well, Heinz is an institution. The food is excellent, the staff are very friendly, it's clean, and it offers true gasthaus cuisine. The onion soup is a must. The goulash soup today was amazing, and the mushroom rosettes were amazing. For main courses, they're the only ones that serve a wiener schnitzel on the bone with fabulous thinly sliced ​​meat, and you can have it made with veal, pork (I love it) or chicken. The goulash is excellent, the unfiltered beer is excellent, and they know how to put it on tap. Anyone who hasn't been doesn't know what they're missing! Excellent value for money... the only downside is that I'm sorry to write this because they don't deserve criticism. The second course arrived while we were finishing the first course. Sorry, but that's something that particularly bothers me. Well done!!!!

09/11/2025: The service was professional yet friendly and engaging. The food was excellent. It was my first time here, and I had the pork shank with roast potatoes, their red beer, and a piece of strudel. My wife had the sliced ​​steak and cider to drink. Everything was good, but I expected more from the strudel, which wasn't among the best I've tasted. Anyway, it's a good place.

05/11/2025: We had an aperitif with a beer spritz and I'd say it was special! We stopped for dinner and drank two 40cl beers and ate a first course, two second courses and a beer tiramisu. In total we spent 90 euros.

03/10/2025: We ate at Bachler twice during our stay and were impressed by the quality and service. There's something for everyone on the menu. The daily specials are very good. Friendly, attentive, but never intrusive service. Their own pizza chef prepares pizzas at the oven. Truly a top recommendation.

03/10/2025: We were really looking forward to a good pizza and were unfortunately disappointed. The pizza in the photo is my own homemade pizza. I'm used to pizzas from South Tyrol that are completely different. The dough was very light, didn't bubble, and had zero flavor, as is appropriate for a dough made with, for example, Caputo flour. It tasted more like a crispy pie crust. Despite the wood-fired oven, it wasn't a truly good pizza. I can't recommend it. The atmosphere was okay, and the enterprising waiter was very nice. This is what my pizzas at home look like, and they're not from a wood-fired oven.

10/09/2025: I would have liked to give it my all. The place is wonderful, with a beautiful view outside, even more so in the rain. The first courses were excellent, the potato tortei were good, but not the best I've ever eaten. The tagliatelle with mushrooms were good, but I personally have a problem with cream in pasta with mushrooms, especially when the mushrooms are of excellent quality like those they offer here. Another sore point is that the quality of the pasta was excellent, but it's not made by them. Their ice cream is superb, as are the homemade liqueurs that you can taste at the end of the meal. I recommend the strangolapreti accompanied by a good Teroldego red. I highly recommend this place, and I'd gladly return. The staff are very welcoming and kind. My compliments for everything.
