15/03/2025: I have no idea how to eat but I know that after we walked around for an hour to find the place, we had chosen it because Google said that ABSOLUTELY NO disabled access, they don't even have a wooden slide. The justification is that Google makes mistakes and they do nothing to adapt 😡

27/01/2025: A really nice sandwich shop. Delicious breads and a cool atmosphere. The folks who work here are super accommodating and the food is good - it's no wonder it seems to be a local favorite. Enjoyed the board games at the tables too.

20/08/2024: Fresh and well cooked fish, good wine, kind and clean. The only flaw is the fact that there are tables almost on the street where the cars stop. You could put some dividers for more privacy, overall I recommend it.

05/08/2024: Why call gourmet something that isn't even gourmet in the water (in a plastic bottle)! In the pizza the food preparation instead of a nice fresh mozzarella, are we kidding??? Restaurant menu with very few dishes of which only one or two were available! Oh well, if they had been good at least, frozen fish with no taste, salt at will! Not to mention waiting almost an hour and a half for the first course to arrive! Too bad there is no possibility to give 0! Very high bill!

24/03/2025: Definitely disappointing experience at the Il Carretto restaurant in Racalmuto I write this review with a certain regret, as I don't like to express negative opinions, aware of the commitment that managing a restaurant entails. However, my recent experience at Il Carretto in Racalmuto fell so far short of expectations that I am willing to share it in the hope that it will be constructive for the owners. My wife and I decided to have lunch in this place, perhaps attracted by its reputation or simply by the desire to try something new. Unfortunately, right from the start, the day took an unexpectedly negative turn. Already when ordering, the first difficulties arose: the piece of meat I had chosen was not available, nor was a second option. My wife opted for a cut. We then asked for the wine list, but were told that it did not exist. A sommelier approached us to recommend a wine, but after a few moments he came back to tell us that the bottle was warm and, incredibly, that they had no ice to cool it! In the meantime, we noticed with amazement and concern several customers who, visibly annoyed, got up and left the place. The sommelier, in an attempt to remedy the situation, suggested we put the bottle in the fridge, then coming to serve us the wine at intervals of about five minutes. The wait for our dishes was considerable. When the meat finally arrived, the disappointment was bitter: my cut was completely burnt on the outside and stringy on the inside, while my wife's cut had the same problem. Before I even started eating, I asked for some bread, but was told it was out of stock, with the promise that it would arrive shortly, straight from the oven. Intrigued, I asked where exactly it came from, and the waiter indicated that a bakery they trusted had supplied the restaurant shortly thereafter. To avoid further waiting, I opted for breadsticks. Shortly after, the waiter returned with the breadsticks, informing me that the bread would not be able to arrive due to a bereavement that had struck the baker. The situation was becoming surreal and almost comical to say the least. I preferred to avoid controversy, but the scene that took place at the table next to us further undermined our already low trust. A customer, upon receiving his plate of meat, immediately got up and went to the kitchen to complain about the inadequate cooking and burnt taste. At the time of the bill, of 150 euros (without having consumed anything), the customer, understandably exasperated, threw the money on the table and left. At that point, my wife and I were practically alone in the restaurant, as most of the other customers had left before even receiving their orders. At the end of this "lunch", we asked for the bill. As a gesture of courtesy, we were offered a bitter, a coffee and some sweets (perhaps because we were the only ones who did not complain, in order to further humiliate the owner, who we had already seen as very mortified. We paid the sum of 85 euros, leaving the restaurant with the feeling of having spent our money in vain and with our stomachs far from full. I sincerely hope that this testimony of mine can serve as a starting point for serious reflection on the part of the management of the Il Carretto restaurant. Such gross errors, from stock management to the organization of room service and, above all, to the preparation of the dishes, are unacceptable, especially considering the prices charged. Although the meat, at least on the surface, seemed of good quality, the way it was cooked was absolutely not up to the cost. I hope that in the future you can significantly improve your offer to prevent other customers from having to live a similarly negative experience.

13/04/2025: Problem after problem...Salty and poor quality food, white wine that tasted like drinking plain water, not recommended.

13/04/2025: Food: couscous arrives after an hour and twenty minutes. Very salty, we can barely eat it without finishing it. Seafood linguine with cream, not the best pairing. The grilled sea bass were not grilled but baked. Decent, even if they had innards left. Unfortunately we waited an hour and a half to have dinner. At the time of the bill they tried to invoice us 6 euros more, also they asked us to pay in cash because the ATM wasn't working. After our refusal the ATM magically started working again… 75 euros for two for a fish dinner isn't much, but it's money wasted. One of the worst dinners you can find in Sicily.

11/10/2024: Arrusti e Manci: Fish shop in the Old Port of Lampedusa, which magically becomes an excellent fish restaurant in the evening, very fresh because it is 0 km!!! All the helpful staff, in particular Mrs Anna, who always welcomes you with a smile, Matteo the precious maitre with his advice and Mr. Nunzio, the owner generous with information. We liked it so much that we returned three evenings in a row, always remaining very satisfied. Not to be missed

10/10/2024: Pescheria al porto vecchio di Lampedusa,che la sera magicamente diventa un eccellente ristorante di pesce ,con pesce freschissimo perché a Km 0.!!!Tutto il personale disponibile,in particolare la signora Anna,che ti accoglie sempre con il sorriso , Matteo il maitre prezioso con i suoi consigli e il signor Nunzio prodigo di informazioni.Ci è piaciuto talmente tanto che siamo ritornati per tre sere di fila ,rimanendo sempre molto soddisfatti.Da non perdere.

12/11/2024: Terrible Sunday lunch experience leaves one wanting little appetizers and poor first courses inedible zero atmosphere. Empty place there was only me and my wife who asked if we can make a fish menu and another meat menu the owner said it's not possible so we settled for two fish menus. My plan was to spend a Sunday in a restaurant I would have preferred him to tell me it was closed since no one was there

26/03/2025: The quality is not in doubt but the price is too expensive for 4 piadinas €21!!!!!! Are you kidding????!!!! Inflation is understandable but it's too much!!!!!

15/03/2025: I ordered a sandwich and felt sick the same evening (taking into account that I don't have intolerances or allergies to certain foods). Other than that the environment and service were not bad.

09/03/2025: Lack of professionalism and very rude waiter. There were 12 of us at a table and we ordered 12 pizzas. First they served six, after about 10 minutes they brought three more. We hoped that the remaining three would arrive early so we could all have dinner together. Oh no! UTOPIA. The pizza chef had decided to prepare the pizzas not for the table he was waiting for (some were eating and others were watching), but for some customers who had ordered them to take away. ABSURD!!!! Following the complaint, the waiter didn't even apologize. Meanwhile, other customers came out with take-away pizzas. Simply shameful! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!

28/10/2024: We had a number of delicious pizzas here and they were fantastic. Service was friendly and quick and the staff could speak some English. Highly recommended.
