03/05/2026: My partner and I happened upon this place by chance a few weeks ago. The entrance to the restaurant is certainly unique, yet very authentic. The owner's welcome immediately gives you a sense of warmth and authenticity, and the rest of the staff is also incredibly kind. The quality and flavor of the food are beyond words; it simply has to be experienced! Thanks to Carlo (if I'm not mistaken, that's the owner's name) for this sensational experience!
02/05/2026: The food was good, average; I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either. The prices were definitely high (the first course was around €17-18).
The staff was very kind and helpful, which is probably its strength.
Unfortunately, the rest was nothing special: the atmosphere was dark and neglected, the glasses were all sorts of different (I dined with a cocktail glass, also used for wine), and the house wine was definitely not to be ordered.
I definitely won't be returning.

26/04/2026: Four of us dined at this restaurant on the evening of April 25, 2026, and it was a wonderful experience of flavors, aromas, courtesy, and familiarity. A 10 out of 10 goes to the entire dinner, from the platters to the first courses, the meat, and the side dishes, all enhanced by the friendliness of Claudio and his entire family. We didn't try the desserts just because we were full, but we promise to return with more friends and enjoy the dessert experience as well. The price was fair and honest.

07/01/2026: The space is spacious and clean. Despite the fire, there's absolutely no smell, which isn't a given.
The service is exceptionally polite and fast.
The meat is excellent.
The platters are delicious.
We were able to enjoy lunch with my furry friends, and we weren't the only ones.
Despite this, I repeat, everything is very clean.

29/05/2026: We went to Charlie tonight for the third time and it was just as amazing as we remembered it. The Risotto is a must have dish, every bite is a taste of heaven. Also had a fantastic pizza Diavola. When is Orvieto, be sure to stop here and enjoy great food, great servant great atmosphere! Reservations are recommended just to be sure you are able to get a table!

11/05/2026: We've been customers for a while, always choosing Vecchio Granaio for dinner. The food is excellent and refined, from the cheeses to the meats, not to mention the homemade first courses made by the old-fashioned ladies. The commendable courtesy is a great added value.

More than a restaurant, I would call Montenero a true Osteria del Cuore.
It's one of those rare places, an absolute certainty in an often overly constructed gastronomic world.

It's a wonderful place made up of exceptional and special people.
Incredible elements and synergies of flavor are the best you could wish for.

05/05/2026: Yesterday we had the pleasure of lunch at Ristorante Montenero, a true gem in the Amelia countryside, which this year celebrates an extraordinary milestone: 100 years in business, since 1926.
A family-run trattoria that has successfully reinvented itself in its hospitality without ever betraying its soul: that of authentic Umbrian tradition. Dishes that tell a story of authentic flavors and passion, such as the hearty and authentic handmade fettuccine with ragù, game, pan-fried chicken, stewed mutton, and coratella (a kind of lamb cutlet). All prepared with local produce and the highest-quality ingredients.
But beyond the cuisine, what truly strikes you is the atmosphere: a warm, family-friendly environment where you immediately feel at home. One of those rare places that still retains the profound sense of time-honored hospitality.
My sincere congratulations to the entire staff for preserving and passing on such an important tradition. And best wishes again on this splendid centenary!

01/05/2026: Great selection of meats, and the quality is excellent. The Florentine steak is unforgettable. Definitely worth a visit to try the different cuts. The location isn't quite as good as the food, but the taste is what matters!
The pizza is good, but a little thin for my personal taste.

05/05/2026: We came here after a day at the Tulip Festival. I highly recommend making a reservation given the large crowd. Four adults and two children ate, and we ordered the house antipasto and a selection of cheeses, excellent with the jams paired with the various cheeses.
Various pizzas, tagliata, and pasta all'aglione. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, the pizza dough very light and digestible, the tagliata was cooked to perfection, and especially the sauce for the sautéed vegetables, which in my opinion was perfectly balanced, like homemade. I didn't try the pasta all'aglione, but the aroma was truly inviting. Kudos also to the desserts; the Nutellamisu was delicious. Service was quick despite the crowds, and the staff were extremely friendly. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

26/04/2026: One of the best restaurants of our trip to Tuscany/Umbria. We were staying close by and ended up returning 5-6 times! We tried everything on the menu and there was not a single bad dish. As highlighted in an earlier review, the menu is not entirely traditional - they offer pasta and pizza (both of which are very good - the locals were all ordering pizza) but also dishes like tuna tartar. Our favourites were the truffle burrata, the beer marinated pork shank, and the margherita pizza (the kids’ favourite!). But more than anything, what made the restaurant so special was how warm and welcoming the owners were, and how this was truly a neighbourhood restaurant where people from all around the town gathered to dine, celebrate and be with friends. If the owners are reading this, we want to say thank you for making us feel like part of your family!

24/10/2025: It's the fourth time I've been there and as far as quality and service are concerned, there's nothing to complain about, just that (at least for my pockets) I can't afford it... spending €103.00 for 4 pizzas, 2 beers, 2 desserts and 1 coffee makes me think that it has become a place suitable for people with higher incomes than mine💁♂️

09/05/2026: I went to this restaurant with a friend for lunch after hiking in the area.
The restaurant is definitely in a strategic location, on the Flaminia road in Lugo, which connects the sea to Gubbio.
A classic yet well-maintained location, with a large indoor dining room and several outdoor tables.
Very friendly and helpful staff, fast service.
The menu is mainly meat-based, with a diverse variety of options, and in the evening the restaurant also serves as a pizzeria.
My travel companion and I were hungry, so we ordered a semi-complete menu, sharing only one appetizer between us.
The flavors are very good, the ingredients are fresh, the portions are excellent, and all at a truly fair price.
We were very satisfied and will definitely return if we are ever in the area again.
01/05/2026: An ideal place for those with hypertension, with almost entirely unsalted first courses.
Some of the arrosticini are burnt, some are raw, a perfect mix.
