My partner and I happened upon this place by chance a few weeks ago. The entrance to the restaurant is certainly unique, yet very authentic. The owner's welcome immediately gives you a sense of warmth and authenticity, and the rest of the staff is also incredibly kind. The quality and flavor of the food are beyond words; it simply has to be experienced! Thanks to Carlo (if I'm not mistaken, that's the owner's name) for this sensational experience!

The food was good, average; I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either. The prices were definitely high (the first course was around €17-18). The staff was very kind and helpful, which is probably its strength. Unfortunately, the rest was nothing special: the atmosphere was dark and neglected, the glasses were all sorts of different (I dined with a cocktail glass, also used for wine), and the house wine was definitely not to be ordered. I definitely won't be returning.

We stumbled upon it by chance. We stayed for pleasure. Excellent cuisine. Carlo, the owner, offers products from his garden and his farms, such as ricotta, cured meats, and meat. Everything has an authentic and genuine flavor. The house wine is special. The portions are truly generous and reasonably priced. Finally, a complimentary bottle of water is offered for those returning home from far away. If you're passing through, stop by. You won't regret it!

We had lunch with four of us on April 25th. Carlo and his son are wonderful. The food is delicious and authentic, all homemade, from the cheeses to the meats. The portions are generous, both in terms of pasta and sauces. Don't let the restaurant's aesthetic fool you, because inside you'll feel right at home. He even gave us roses to all the women in the dining room, as well as water for the journey home. We'll be happy to return.

Simply put, CARLO, a wonderful person who immediately introduces himself as owner, waiter, and, of course, producer of all the delicacies you'll enjoy at his rustic restaurant. Assisted by his wife Valeria in the kitchen, Carlo brings joy, happiness, and cheer. He'll always explain what you're about to eat, and you'll see (but above all, FEEL) the love he puts into his dishes, from the ricotta, one of his signature dishes because it's UNIQUE, to the cheese, to the first courses, main courses, and desserts. Ristorante "La Primula" is a journey, one that should be undertaken with caution by those who appreciate simplicity and happiness, even in the little things.

Last night, returning from two days in Umbria over the Easter weekend, the four of us found ourselves enjoying one of those experiences that came about completely by chance... but are hard to forget. After a beautiful bike ride along the Spoleto-Norcia stretch, during our sandwich stop, we realized something rather obvious: finding a restaurant open for Easter dinner without a reservation would be a feat. In fact, after calling at least 15 restaurants—all open only for lunch—we had one last option: La Primula. We didn't look at reviews, we had no expectations. I called. On the other end, a shrill voice said, "Sure, I have room for four, I'll see you this evening!" And so, almost on a bet, we decided to go. We arrived in front of the restaurant and, I have to be honest, our impressions were mixed: from the outside, it didn't even look like a restaurant. But as soon as we stepped inside, we found ourselves in a timeless, authentic, almost suspended environment. Carlo welcomed us. He leads us to the table, and we look around: few people, a quiet atmosphere. Then the menu arrives, written in pen on a sheet of straw paper... and then something changes. Because then Carlo arrives, and magic happens. An incredible character, one of those who seem to have stepped out of a novel. One of those you have to choose to believe in to be transported by his stories: the life of a shepherd, the life in the inns, experiences, stories, pieces of life that intertwine with what arrives on the plate. And in the dishes, there's all this. Behind the stove is his partner, a woman you wouldn't expect at first glance, but who actually has expert hands, like those of true old-fashioned cooking. A mastery reminiscent of that of grandmothers, made of confident gestures, experience, and a love for what she prepares. Authentic cuisine, without frills, direct. Portions like you don't see anymore. Real flavors, which Carlo describes with such passion that they become even more delicious. A place frozen in a different time, far from the frenzy of everyday life. We'll definitely be back. Because more than a dinner, it was an experience. And because a little bit of Carlo... stays with you.

The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Carlo takes you inside and explains everything about every product he serves (all of his own production). A family-run business that makes you feel at home. We were offered a homemade amaro (also homemade) and a complimentary bottle of water. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat well and feel at home.
