I highly recommend this place; it's one of the best restaurants in Sardinia.
The potatoes, meat, and pasta are incredible.
The staff is amazing and attentive. The waitress was very kind and truly professional.

11/06/2026: Fantastic place. The atmosphere is incredible and the staff are very friendly. The variety of dishes is great and the pizza is one of the best. I went three times during my stay in Santa Maria Navarrese. You have to try the deserts, typically sardo and the tiramisu, of course.

02/06/2026: We went without a reservation and found a free table on the terrace, which is separated from the street and the waitresses have to cross to get the dishes from the kitchen.
The waitresses were chatting among themselves, and only at our request did one of them come to take our order. We ordered grilled calamari and mussel and clam soup. Both portions were truly paltry. The grilled calamari consisted of a skewer of six lukewarm baby calamari, the innards of which had not been properly cleaned, while the clam and mussel soup had no soup at all! We obviously complained, and they quickly remedied this with a generous helping of soup.
I definitely won't be returning!

06/06/2026: We have rarely experienced such exceptionally courteous and attentive service anywhere!
Our waiter was the epitome of professionalism. Very charming, yet discreet.
We were shown to our table, and my handbag was given its own chair so it didn't have to sit on the floor. 🙃 The waiter checked on us periodically to make sure everything was satisfactory and if we needed anything else. We rarely experience this level of service; elsewhere, you usually have to ask for anything you want.
We had pork chops in mushroom sauce. It was very tasty. However, the meat wasn't seared, but rather just simmered. Therefore, the texture was surprising and unusual.
It came with potato croquettes, which were perfectly seasoned. And grilled sea bream at a very fair price per kilo. This was also delicious. It was served with a crisp, fresh side salad.
For dessert, we had tiramisu. The chocolate sauce on top wasn't necessary, but it still tasted wonderful.
We had pork chops in mushroom sauce. It was hard to choose, as the dessert selection was so extensive. Next time, we'll try the fried ricotta ravioli. 😋
Overall, the service was on par with a fine-dining restaurant, but the prices were absolutely reasonable and fair.
We sat in the conservatory. During the day, the view of the valley must be fantastic. It was dark in the evening, though. 😉
04/06/2026: A truly excellent experience. We had pasta with clams, and honestly, I don't remember ever having eaten anything so good: flavorful, plentiful, and perfectly cooked. The octopus with potatoes was also excellent, tender and well-prepared. The mixed fried fish was light, crispy, and excellent quality, while the roasted pecorino cheese was a delightful surprise, truly delicious.
Also noteworthy is the kindness and professionalism of the staff, always attentive and helpful. The price was absolutely fair and reasonable for the quality and quantity of what we ate.
If we return to Lanusei, it will definitely be a must-try. Highly recommended!

The service is very friendly, and dogs are welcome.

17/07/2025: Ci sono stato ieri. Fosse L ultimo ristorante su questo pianeta non ci tornerei. Location bellissima ma praticamente non si mangia. Pesce surgelato e prezzi stratosferici per mangiare 20 grammi di pasta. Non andarci è l unica soluzione
05/07/2025: Siamo arrivati da lontano per godere del panorama e fermarci a mangiare in questo ristorante recensito in maniera ottima. Abbiamo chiamato più volte per prenotare, ma il telefono squillava senza risposta. Decidiamo di ignorare ogni proposta nel paesino di Baunei (grande errore), per presentarci al ristorante con grande entusiasmo. Entusiasmo subito smorzato dall’accoglienza pessima. Il personale correva disperato e ci ha ignorato, fino a che, una cameriera, dopo averci chiesto se avessimo prenotato, ci ha subito avvisato che saremo stati sistemati all’interno (a 40 gradi senza condizionamento). Subito una seconda cameriera in arrivo le dice che avrebbe sistemato un tavolo per noi, per poi finire a litigare con la collega, che insisteva a non volerci sistemare. Insomma, dopo un momento di smarrimento e non considerazione da parte loro, durato 5 minuti, le mie due figlie reclamavano cibo, così che ho voltato le spalle al locale sentendomi profondamente umiliata.
Ricordo al personale di questo bellissimo e prestigioso posto, che la Sardegna, merita di mantenere la sua fama di accoglienza senza pregiudizio, e di esaltare questa sua capacità di rendere un pasto un’esperienza unica per chiunque. Vi ringraziamo, inoltre, per averci fatto scoprire, che a 6 km da voi, proprio nel paesino, tutto questo è ancora possibile.
