26/07/2025: A wonderful vegan restaurant in a picturesque setting. We sat on the summer terrace and couldn't get enough of the view. The dishes were all exceptional and lovingly prepared down to the last detail. A poem! We especially recommend the sharing focaccia and the desserts. But everything else is also worth trying! We'd love to come back and are already looking forward to next summer. Best wishes from Germany!

26/07/2025: Everything was fantastic. The food was of good quality. Delicious, fresh ingredients and a large portion. The flavor was perfect. Even though we didn't finish everything, we were allowed to take the rest home. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this pizzeria.

15/08/2025: Pizzeria da Pippo – Pizza the way it should be in Italy Best pizza in a long time! We went there on a Saturday evening – without a reservation – and despite it being packed, mostly with locals, we still managed to get a seat. A typical Italian pizzeria with a cozy atmosphere. The "Momi" pizza was simply perfect: crispy crust, aromatic tomato sauce, fresh ingredients, and prepared with love. The desserts were also a dream – from panna cotta to tiramisu to crème brûlée, all homemade and delicious. A special shout-out to our super-friendly waitress, who looked after us warmly and attentively. The food here is cooked with passion and attention to quality – fresh, local ingredients make all the difference. Highly recommended!

30/07/2025: When visiting a restaurant, three factors are important: 1. The food, 2. The location, and 3. politeness. Unfortunately, I can't comment on point 1, because the utter rudeness with which we were greeted prevented us from staying longer. The location is already modest, right in the middle of a main road, uncomfortable and noisy. We could have easily overlooked that, but then the waiter came. There were two of us and we wanted to reserve a table for the evening. We told a waitress this, who directed us inside. Inside, a man greeted us in Italian and asked how many people were there. Since his colleague had already told him that we wanted to make a reservation, we didn't think it was unusual for him to ask us whether we wanted to eat inside or outside. It wasn't until the waiter tried to show us to a table that the misunderstanding became clear. We then pointed out to him in Italian that we only wanted to make a reservation; it was just a misunderstanding; it can happen. He simply asked where we came from and then made it clear to my companion that he wouldn't continue speaking Italian to her because she apparently hadn't understood him. This very snotty and passive-aggressive "lecturing" was not only rude but also highly inappropriate. My companion speaks the language at a native level, regularly travels to Italy for language courses, and loves to speak Italian. Instead of handling the situation professionally and as the misunderstanding it was, the reaction was very unprofessional and completely unnecessary. The restaurant was almost empty at the time, so you can't even blame it on stress... I don't even want to know how people are treated here in truly stressful situations. Instead of treating customers with mutual respect, they seem to prefer a condescending attitude, and for various reasons, this is unjustified. Especially since the waiter himself spoke very, very poor German. The situation could have been easily resolved, as it wasn't actually anything serious. The waiter should perhaps reconsider his manners, or put up a sign indicating that he'd rather showcase his limited German skills than speak his native language. It's a shame, really; we just wanted to reserve a table.

29/07/2025: Great staff, great dinner and drinks. The owner or manager found us a place even though we didn't have a reservation. A small child was no problem. I recommend!

19/08/2025: Very nice pizzeria with a wood-fired oven, modern and cozy interior. Unassuming from the outside, and unfortunately, no outdoor seating (but that's not always possible in a big city). Centrally located near the castle. We found the pizza very good and felt completely at home. We'd gladly return if we ever come back to Trieste.

29/07/2025: A truly hidden gem – a unique experience! 💎 We've never found such a wonderful place to dine as here at Pizzeria Osteria Ambaradan. In our opinion, it's truly a hidden gem. From our stay in Croatia, we planned a day trip to Trieste and asked ChatGPT for a special place to end the day. Their recommendation: a pizzeria in a small Italian village, about an hour and a half's drive from Trieste. We didn't regret it for a moment – quite the opposite. What we found was a location with character: on a deserted village square, in a sleepy Italian hamlet, stands this restaurant, which doesn't immediately stand out from the outside. But appearances can be deceiving. Inside, a warm welcome awaits, a welcoming atmosphere, and above all: fantastic food. The pizzas were delicious, the wine well-chosen, and to finish, we enjoyed a phenomenal tiramisu and a strong caffè doppio. The staff—presumably the owners as well—helped us kindly and patiently, despite our limited Italian vocabulary. It's precisely that genuine interaction that makes it complete. Here you dine far from the tourist crowds, in a place that still feels pure and authentic. Thank you for your hospitality—and rest assured: we'll take good care of the cactus 🌵 we received.
