08/02/2026: Three stars for the place, which is a bit small and the loud noise doesn't help much. Otherwise, everything is delicious, from the appetizers, the cured meats, the cheeses, the excellent first courses, and the tasty second courses. The dessert experience is heavenly, delicious, and unforgettable. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it.
01/02/2026: A well-maintained restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a stunning view of Rocca di Cambio. The food is excellent, starting with the Rocche antipasto, which offers not only uniquely flavorful cured meats and cheeses, but also hot dishes. The first courses are also delicious, such as the polenta with porcini mushrooms and truffles, a true revelation. The lamb shank, too, was a first, with an intense yet delicate flavor. And to finish, the desserts included a delicious apple tart, the Scomposta, and finally, a proper tiramisu, with excellent flavor. Aside from a small mix-up during service, I can say we had a wonderful time and are sure to return when we're in the area again.

05/03/2026: Always a guarantee. Obelix-sized portions and exceptional quality. At lunchtime during the week, you might be lucky to find a table. On weekends, you have to book, with waits lasting almost three months. This proves the 5-star rating is real.

04/01/2026: La Baita a Scanno is an excellent restaurant to stop at after a day spent in nature. Lunch was delicious and of high quality, featuring traditional local dishes. The arrosticini, in particular, were excellent: well-cooked, flavorful, and truly delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service courteous, making the experience pleasant and relaxing. It's a recommended place for anyone who wants to sample Abruzzo cuisine in a family atmosphere.

09/02/2026: Pity we only discovered this restaurant on our last night at l'Aquila. We shared a lovely starter, then had the most exquisite pizza and pinsa ever! A gem of a restaurant offering an extensive menu, not just pizza. Other dishes seemed delicious too! And all at very affordable prices. Very friendly staff and efficient service. Complimenti Nonna Cristina!!
25/01/2026: We entered a little pre-emptively, but we left very satisfied. The wait times were proportionate to the freshness of the dishes. We tried three different starters, each better than the last. But a top score definitely goes to the pecorino carpaccio, which I ordered as a main course, but could easily have been a standalone dish due to the generous portion. Kudos to the entire staff.

07/01/2026: We went last night and were truly disappointed. The pizzas pictured on the digital menu were completely different from what we received. Even the price when we went to pay was different. (Higher) Old, smelly ingredients. The only person who was happy was a friend of ours, who had a Margherita. Everything else was served with old ingredients, definitely defrosted directly on the pizza in the oven. In fact, we were sick all night. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.
21/12/2025: Spectacular welcome!! The owner, Nicola, is a wonderful "Southern" person... as are the staff who cooked and catered to our needs. I ordered the pizza by the meter, which was devoured, accompanied by a draft beer.

21/02/2026: I'm recounting the rather unusual experience the other evening. Four of us went to this restaurant and were greeted warmly. After ordering, they informed us that the walnuts in the "Pizza d'Uomo" had run out and had to be replaced with almonds, but so far, nothing unusual. Along with the pizza and the girls' first course, my friend and I ordered the complete antipasto from the old station, as I hadn't been to L'Aquila for several years and wanted to try the cured meats from L'Aquila again. The rest was more of a side dish. Several minutes after the platter and soup arrived, I asked why the cured meats hadn't arrived yet. The younger girl told me to wait, as she would go and ask. When she returned, she pointed out that there was prosciutto... and I pointed out that Norcia prosciutto is already mentioned in the appetizer. She then said that on the menu they carry typical, seasonal products, not necessarily cured meats, claiming they weren't mentioned. I'm attaching a screenshot of the menu, which I also showed to the young lady. She replied that they're currently "updating the menu and experimenting with alternatives using seasonal products." Now, the breaded pumpkin (despite the fact that none of us ate it) doesn't seem like it's from February to me, and it doesn't seem on par with the cured meat from L'Aquila. Sometimes, it would be enough to apologize and clarify the misunderstanding, trying to remedy the situation without making up excuses and making us look like picky eaters. Given the festive occasion, I didn't want to continue the debate, but know that if something is listed on the menu (which still costs €26), you can't leave it out because you've decided to try new things that evening; customers aren't guinea pigs. Unfortunately, the skewers weren't any better: they were too thick and stringy, clearly overcooked, and the meat was brought to the stone in its entirety, so a kilo of meat needed to be eaten quickly along with the skewers because it continued to cook. The last pieces were burnt and dry. I've never seen anything like it. The meat is served rare, and then the customer decides when and how to reheat it, and whether they want to cook it more on the stone. Salt was also missing, but we couldn't ask for it because unfortunately, no one was coming by, and we had to eat quickly because it would either burn or get cold. A first course, a pizza, an appetizer, 10 arrosticini, a rib-eye steak, and two rosé wines cost €210. Not bad for the price, but it's a shame about the quality and the insufficiency of the ingredients, which were in short supply. I definitely won't be returning, and I don't recommend it. I'd advise you to only list what you have on hand on the menu and change the way you serve the meat.

The first courses were excellent, lasagna and gnocchi with lamb ragù in bianco were special. It's definitely worth trying. Try it to believe it!! My word!

I stayed there for a few days and felt welcomed like family... I had considered dining at other restaurants as well, but in the end, given the wide selection on the menu, I dined at Massari every night!!! TOP TOP TOP... try it and believe it! Emanuele, the owner, is a guy with a big heart!
