We stumbled upon "Il Malombra" quite by chance – a beautifully situated restaurant high above Lake Lugano, with stunning views of the mountains and a special, warm atmosphere. We were there as a family – my wife, our 6-year-old daughter (currently a very picky eater), and our 8-month-old baby. Upon arrival, we received an incredibly friendly welcome; everything seemed relaxed, personal, and genuine. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, cozy, and unpretentious – simply authentic and run with love. The food was simply fantastic: I had a venison ragout with tagliatelle, my wife had homemade chestnut ravioli with pumpkin cream and local truffle – both dishes were absolutely delicious. Our daughter initially only wanted spaghetti on its own, but then tried my ragout – and liked it so much that she immediately got her own portion and devoured it all. That says it all! Absolutely great value for money, absolutely outstanding quality. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day—right before our departure. So if you're in the Valsolda area, go and enjoy!

02/11/2025: I just wanted to point out the way we were treated. Despite the place being very welcoming and the staff friendly and helpful, the waiters forgot our order, an understandable mistake that would have been resolved with an apology, even though one never arrived. Dishes arrived with unsolicited side dishes after a 2-hour wait. They were good, but not requested. After a brief comment on the review site, however, the owner showed up, not to offer a heartfelt apology, but to accuse us of having had nothing to talk about during the 2-hour wait, and of being good-for-nothings. Welcoming place, good food, but not recommended due to the rude and incompetent owner who doesn't understand the definition of the job. P.S. Delicious desserts and friendly staff, except for the owner.

03/11/2025: This place is amazing. The service is incredibly fast and efficient. If you're looking for a kebab, this is the perfect place. They gave us everything in just a few minutes, and in just as many minutes we ate everything, even the foil. The staff was friendly and helpful (we even took a photo together). Overall, everything was perfect (I'm not a bot).

06/11/2025: Lunch with my wife. We found a charming and intimate place. The setting was simple (3 stars). The service was very friendly and attentive (4 stars). We ordered pasta with paté and provola. Very good, although the pasta was overcooked. The fried food could be better presented. I expected more variety, but the price was generous (€6). I recommend adding to it, even if it's higher. The frying oil was barely usable. The Pulpititiello affogato was tasty even though it wasn't freshly made. The scialatielli raised the bar a bit (from 2 to 3 stars). The pasta was cooked perfectly, and even the cherry tomatoes and lobster sauce tasted freshly sautéed. The wine, chosen on recommendation, was average. I found the bill a little high for the quality of the food. P.S. For the manager: Campanian cuisine is undoubtedly among the most popular in Italy. Choosing traditional dishes with consistently fresh ingredients will make all the difference.

12/10/2025: Hi, I ordered some take-out pizzas. They were very small, and the mozzarella wasn't mozzarella at all, but more of a stringy cheese. The dough, on the other hand, had no taste whatsoever, it was flavorless.
