27/08/2025: A very cute little cafe/bar. My friends and I were very impressed. We ordered Aperol for €7 each and got a huge free snack platter (with olives, ham, salami, and cheese). Excellent value for money, cute atmosphere, and friendly service. We'd be happy to go again.

26/08/2025: A very good time in a discreet location. The only problem at the moment was a neighbor clearing brush between 12 and 1 p.m. No luck. This didn't detract from the service or the culinary pleasure. A fish hors d'oeuvre as a starter and sea bream fillets afterward. Thank you. Great!

09/08/2025: Everything was delicious! I was there in March 2025 with friends. I'll gladly return. I want to mention the kindness of the staff. I have one regret: there was an amazing lasagna that I didn't order. I regret it. Don't make the same mistake I did!

20/07/2025: I arrived at the restaurant following the wrong directions on Maps, but was saved by a very kind lady who helped me park and showed me the right way to return after dinner. The restaurant is located high up, with a breathtaking, unparalleled view. The food was excellent, as was the service.

07/09/2025: A small location with mostly outdoor seating. The menu specializes in burgers and Pucce Salentine, with a few exceptions: salads and grilled meats. Excellent quality ingredients, excellent meat. Good value: the burgers are slightly above average. Quick service and very friendly staff. Unfortunately, they don't offer takeout.

27/08/2025: A very quaint place, with fast and very friendly staff and excellent food (I recommend the Neapolitan pizza, the fried food, and the Spritz). I've been to Stresa twice and eaten here twice; it's best to make a reservation because it gets very busy.

27/08/2025: We came here for the Neapolitan pizzas, and it was wonderful. The service was very friendly, and the food was extremely delicious. We had pizza, lasagna, and spaghetti. Everything was homemade. Highly recommended.

14/09/2025: If I could, I'd give it six stars: one for our lunch (pasta, fish, and the freshest desserts); one because we were lucky enough to sit at an intimate and romantic table overlooking the lake; one for the owner, who was exquisitely kind; one for both waiters who served us; one for the positive atmosphere in the restaurant (which was once the home of a violinist)... and one, finally, for the overall experience and the choice of background music. Highly recommended!

14/09/2025: The service was subpar. They served the wrong dish, didn't replace the cutlery between the first and second courses, and didn't bring more plates for the shared appetizer. The menu displayed empty dishes, which they only informed us about when we were ordering. The waiters were inexperienced.

04/09/2025: La botte Stresa, a refined and stylish place, small and welcoming, the owner Matilde is always sunny, the staff and dining room are well-trained, the cuisine is delicious and will make you lose your mind.

02/08/2025: Overall a very nice find in Stresa, Italy. Went there for dinner as a couple. It’s a Michelin listed restaurant (2024 and 2025). The food was quite nice though I wouldn’t say all the dishes were exceptional. The flan was very nice as was the seafood pasta. I would definitely recommend having a meal there once if you like authentic Italian fare. Prices were very reasonable as well.

02/08/2025: We ate on the terrace, so the atmosphere was very nice. But the interior didn't seem very refined. The portions were very small and the prices were way too high. The staff were friendly, but they asked us several times if we wanted dessert, and it seemed like we needed to vacate the table as soon as possible. Other customers got up to ask for water. Others showed up at 8:15 with an 8:00 reservation, and their table had already been taken. They don't deserve a Michelin recommendation.

26/07/2025: A classy restaurant that uses top-quality ingredients, many of which are locally sourced. We ate divinely! Not to mention the price, which is proportional to the quality and kindness.

21/07/2025: We dined at this lovely, intimate restaurant. Small seating for an excellent dinner featuring local dishes. The price is definitely not for everyone, but it's worth it.

19/08/2025: Ouch!... A good friend, who had stayed there the year before, had warned me: "It's old and the service is terrible." Attracted by the splendid photos and the perfect location, we ignored this experience. It was a shame we did... Magnificent entrance, magnificent building. Things get complicated upon arrival: no porter, no one to greet us for several long minutes. The way the doorman greets you suggests the worst. Unfortunately, it will be much worse than the worst you expect at that moment. At reception, it's a shambles: two people serving while a dozen customers wait in line. Welcome to Ibis Budget. The way they address you and the way they yell at you to get your credit card immediately makes you understand what will ruin your stay: the service and the lack of staff training. Meanwhile, management seems absorbed in their screens while guests wait, and the overwhelmed receptionists do what they can to cope with the overcrowding. Arrival at the room: balcony dirty and full of bird droppings, blinds stuck, double bed for the children even though we had made sure to call the week before and this had been confirmed to us in writing. At Ibis Budget, they are professionals; you don't have these kinds of problems. I call the head receptionist, who finally deigns to leave his screen to answer me: he explains that: "The bed is normal, it's 2:55 p.m. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m., that's why"!!! - The blinds are like that, they can't adjust them, it's normal, - The droppings, they can't do anything about it, every time they clean it comes back." I ask if my children can change rooms, to get double beds. He tells me it's not possible because the hotel is full. I point out that half the keys are at reception, suggesting that the majority of the guests haven't arrived yet and that a change is therefore not a problem. His response will long remain in my memory as the worst response I've ever received in a 5-star hotel: "It's because you're an inferior customer." Inferior in what way, I asked him? (We were staying two nights and had two deluxe lake-view rooms, paid at full price directly on the hotel's website). "It's because you're an inferior customer. I've worked here for 40 years, that's just how it is. If you're not happy, too bad." Armed with these explanations, I asked for the manager. A very stylish, elderly gentleman came to speak to me. I quickly understood that he was covering up for the shortcomings and mistakes of his longtime managers no matter what. He clearly no longer has the energy or the desire to maintain the standing of his establishment and is desperately clinging to his longtime employees to live in the illusion of the splendor of yesteryear. I contacted maintenance directly: miraculously, the blinds were repaired in 5 minutes. I spoke with the particularly kind and helpful chambermaid: the beds were separated in an instant. I even received an apology from her (she was the only one who didn't have to apologize since the instructions hadn't been given to her). In short, a disastrous arrival, staff whose attitude and training are as outdated as some of the hotel's amenities. Outdated management, trampled luxury standards. Finally, note that the pool and spa are open to outsiders, which gives you that delightful feeling of being at an aquapark rather than in a hotel exuding calm, luxury, and serenity. In conclusion: either you're invited for a sales seminar, or you find a 70% discount, or I recommend you run away and choose one of the lovely establishments in Stresa and on Lake Maggiore.

19/08/2025: We really don't know how to describe how wonderful our experience was. This hotel is a splendid pearl nestled on the shores of Lake Maggiore, where you're immediately transported to a bygone era. The service is impeccable, and the incredible kindness shared by everyone who works here makes you feel like the most important person in the world. An honorable mention goes to the spa, truly the hotel's crown jewel. If you want to live a dream, we absolutely recommend staying here; you won't regret it. Thank you, truly.

29/06/2025: Unfortunately, a cloud of dust hung over the mountains the entire day, so the mountains couldn't show off their beautiful beauty. The hotel is a lovingly run family business. Rekardo, who spoke good German, helped us a lot, e.g., (helped us jump-start our motorcycle), explained things, and gave us tips. A great hotel team. Thank you for the lovely, full breakfast.

29/06/2025: Very friendly manager and staff. The breakfast buffet was definitely worth the money. Our corner room had a somewhat small bathroom with a bathtub. Everything seemed newly renovated, and we had a small balcony with a lake view. Right on the street. Unfortunately, the street noise was a bit loud at peak times. But nothing that wouldn't stop us from booking again. Very animal-friendly. Our small dog was very welcome, even on the pebble beach. Water shoes are recommended. Sunbeds with umbrellas and towels were free. The town of Stresa was about 3 km away. Easily accessible on foot along the road. Not advisable due to the narrow streets. We recommend this small, friendly hotel. The price-performance ratio is excellent. Several German TV channels and free Wi-Fi (only available in the hotel)

25/06/2025: We didn't eat here, but we were able to leave our bags here whilst we explored Stresa and Isola Bella, which was really useful. It was €3 a bag, and they were locked in their store room.

21/06/2025: Best pizza in town, best food in town and the prices for bottled wine are very pleasant and stimulating compared to Germany
