24/01/2026: I'll be blunt: this is a family-friendly place with a children's play area, which causes annoying chaos on busy days.
The food is good, and the quality of the meat is paramount, even in the burgers, which are quite generous, but it really shines in the mixed grill.
The only flaw with the sandwiches is the bread, which gets too wet and falls apart, making them awkward and difficult to eat.
The piadinas are large and generous.
The fried foods are decent.
The real downside of Griglia Matta is the wait time, which can be up to an hour and a half on weekends.

17/11/2025: As a Modenese on a trip to Giaveno, we went there yesterday for lunch. Wonderful place, excellent service, true Modenese food, lasagna, tigelle and gnocco with excellent cold cuts. We will be back soon.
28/09/2025: We celebrated my wife's retirement. Mrs. Serena, incredibly friendly and helpful, prepared a top-notch dinner, thoroughly enjoyed by all the guests. It was a truly enjoyable evening. Thank you, Mrs. Serena. See you soon for the porcini mushroom lasagna...

23/02/2026: The restaurant is large and quite crowded. When we arrived, they indicated a generic table (reserved), but after we sat down, they told us it wasn't the table at hand, but a nearby one of the same size. We had to rearrange our seats, with the help of the waitress. Nothing wrong with that, but they just needed to show us the right table.
The food is good and the dishes are plentiful, but the menu should be more detailed; any unavailable dishes should be reported immediately. Efficient service...a few more smiles wouldn't hurt. I understand the tiredness, but you go to a restaurant to escape your worries!!! Wheelchair ramps available.
21/02/2026: We ordered five dishes: pizza, appetizers, and orecchiette with shrimp and zucchini. They were delicious.
The spaghetti with clams was flavorless, especially since the clams were almost all closed.
The fried porcini mushrooms were almost inedible, flavorless, and above all full of water and oil.
And they cost 18 euros! When we told the waitress, she smiled, but then she never showed up again for dessert or coffee.
When we pointed this out at the cashier, the other girl didn't flinch and said, "I'm sorry."
Discounts or remedies are out of the question.
Never again!! A sad experience and lack of customer service.

The frying oil, first and foremost, needs changing.
Artichoke risotto was average quality.
Porcini risotto with coarsely chopped mushrooms.
Pumpkin gnocchi tasted only of flour.
French fries left on the plate.
Baked potatoes covered in unpleasant oil.
Average price: €15 per dish.
I was hoping for something better.

14/12/2025: We were there last night and were all thrilled: the food was excellent, with attention to detail and high quality. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel truly at ease throughout the dinner. All this at a very reasonable price for what you get. A restaurant that deserves to be recommended without hesitation. We'll definitely be back!
08/12/2025: My partner and I have been here several times. This is about our tenth visit. We've been hooked ever since. The waitress is generous and tries to make you feel at home, even though the place is already quite cramped, as it's very hot, especially during the Christmas season. The owner and the chefs also do an exceptional job, ensuring excellent dishes with punctuality and precision.
