Food if you can eat, I repeat if, it's not bad. Went yesterday March 24th to celebrate my birthday with my family, it took us almost 3 hours to eat. And we were lucky that at least we managed to eat. Many tables left without being able to receive the dishes ordered and at a certain point the umbrellas flew, in the true sense of the word and the waiters had disappeared so the various customers tried to close them and place them on the ground.
Absurd. Even the answers given by the owner were not at all polite.
What a pity.
24/03/2024: Sunday 24 March, to forget! 1 hour for a starter and then another 1 hour for the first course. Something must have happened in the kitchen, or lack of staff, or maybe poor organization,
definitely not the weather because I had lunch inside immediately. I don't know, but it remains a bad memory and the lack of excuses with a coffee or a bitter to resolve the embarrassment.
Ps: bread dry as stone, asked for a change, never arrived.

09/10/2023: A unique location in Arona with a veranda overlooking the lake, very romantic at sunset. The cooktails are good and tasty, as are the accompaniments, maybe a few more snacks. Fair prices for the area.
01/09/2023: Honestly, at 8 euros for a cocktail, I find it shameful that we have to go and order at the bar! The minimum would be for them to come and ask!

07/04/2024: My experience was negative, the landlord was not very kind in the way he responded to our request. So after ordering we preferred to get up and leave without consuming.
05/04/2024: We went the week before Easter, the weather wasn't the best.
We still sat outside and at a certain point it started to drizzle
The staff managed to manage the situation in an instant by opening large umbrellas and we finished our lunch.
I must say, however, that having frequented the place for several years we had the impression that the portions have been significantly reduced.

06/04/2024: Long wait for a bottle of wine (25min) only to receive a different bottle than the one ordered. We ordered a platter of Norcia crudo which were thick cut, like steaks. With just one fork when we were more people. Furthermore, the aperitif rule should be changed, because if I take a bottle something should arrive (without looking at the time, which is then half an hour plus half an hour less). Practically non-existent service, I had to ask the same thing several times from multiple waiters.
Mine is a constructive criticism.
17/03/2024: Unacceptable service, rude staff
We had to wait to order and after almost 2 hours the order still hadn't arrived. I've never had a situation like this happen to me. I don't recommend it.

02/04/2024: I recently booked at the Il Barcaiolo restaurant in Arona for an aperitif with family and friends, and I must say that I had a really good time.
The price of €16 per person for everything on offer is perfect.
Drinks are extra, but the price is fair.
The restaurant, located in the center of Arona, is beautiful, with walls adorned with vintage photos. There is also a large selection of gins available.
Six people, with aperitif, desserts, a drink each and two bottles of wine, spent €200.
I had a good time and highly recommend this place, especially for the location, the friendliness and kindness of the waiters.
31/03/2024: Nice atmosphere and very kind service. Good and well cooked dishes. The meat is the open kitchen just as the open kitchen is the kitchen itself. The risottos are excellent, the Nebbiolo one with fondue, those alone are already worth an excellent rating. The mixed cold cuts starter is also good.

03/04/2024: I organized lunch for my birthday in this splendid place, we did the Bolgheri rock's tasting menu, a perfect tasting for an alternative and interactive lunch, as well as being excellent the food and wine was really a lot of fun and different from the usual tastings, super recommended, thanks for everything again
31/03/2024: They found us a table the evening before Easter lunch, which was impossible but the owner was magnificent. Prices a little higher than average but with a view like the one they have it's worth it. Really good food, impeccable service, very elegant, friendly and not at all intrusive. Score ten for the gin and tonic! We will definitely be back.

07/04/2024: Easter Monday, I had the brilliant idea of going to Arona with the family after lunch in an attempt to avoid the return traffic by stopping for dinner at the lake.
After 20 minutes of uninterrupted hail we arrive and..... surprise there is no one.
We book this restaurant while walking cold in the pedestrian area, consulting the menu outside.
We sit down at 7.30pm, a small, rustic but well-kept place, wooden and straw chairs, checked tablecloths and menus written on blackboards hanging on the wall.
We choose 2 risottos with thyme and creamed Arneis in the form of Toma di Sant'Andrea, a beer-baked cockerel on potato rosti and a lamb shank with potato pie.
To drink water, a coke and a bottle of Barbera offered by the house, opened at the table, a discreet product.
Risotto served at the table in the form of toma, there is a lot of thyme, perhaps a little of the toma, but overall an excellent dish.
Cockerel served whole, good perhaps a little dry, shank I think is the dish of the evening, soft and delicate, cooked to perfection, pie that accompanies perfectly, one of the best I have eaten in recent years.
Grappa to conclude and final bill of 113 euros, admittedly not very low, but for the place, the service and the raw materials used, all deserved.

17/03/2024: Mi sono presentata sabato sera, senza aver prenotato. Nonostante ciò, sono riusciti a farmi sedere. Ho mangiato i tagliolini ai carciofi veramente ottimi,Insieme al caffè è stata portata una meringa. Bella idea!

02/04/2024: Very unwelcoming food, strange dishes, very small portions, the waiters were super rude, like they wanted to go home. The worst of all was the very ungentle cashier. And the expensive price to go home hungry. The only good thing is the view. I wouldn't go back anyway.
26/03/2024: Osteria directly on the lake, with an excellent view.
Good products and prices in line with the local average.
We will return in the summer, to enjoy the view from the square
