14/07/2025: Locale affascinante e ben tenuto, con una ottima selezione di vini e piatti molto soddisfacenti. Il tutto con grande attenzione all'uso di prodotti locali e ricette tradizionali. Servizio ottimo: siamo stati accolti con grande simpatia e consigliati assai bene. Prezzi onestissimi. Un'esperienza eccellente, torneremo volentieri.

27/07/2025: Maybe it's because I'm from Milan and the surrounding area, and I'm no longer used to these prices, but €8 for such a generous and high-quality aperitivo was a pleasant surprise for all four people at the table. Everyone was very satisfied!

19/07/2025: Convenient and small bar located along one of the busiest streets, a pedestrian area, in the historic center of Asti. Interesting for the outdoor area, heated by powerful stoves during the winter season, it offers a wide choice of cafés, aperitifs, drinks and sandwiches. Friendly and helpful staff, service is fast.

05/08/2025: We stayed at the Relais (reviewed separately, and with a higher rating). Here we report our experience at the Bistro. We certainly expected more, considering the two-Michelin-star Locanda is also present and the restaurant is designed by Enrico Bartolini. The location is well-kept and beautiful, including the pergola where we dined. The appetizers were excellent (raw Fassona beef and veal with tuna sauce), as were the wine pairings recommended by the sommelier. So why 2 stars? There was a never-ending wait for a two-course dinner. The bread basket was meager (two pieces of bread), so we often had to ask for more, resulting in an interminable wait. The main courses we tasted were subpar. The beef was better, the shank was awful. Moreover, they were plated in the same way (soft cream on the bottom, with the difference being one made of potatoes, the other of chickpeas, but visually identical) with the same stewed vegetables on top. The dining room staff (only two people) were helpful, friendly, and polite, but insufficient to handle the large number of tables, and perhaps even inadequate for the type of establishment. This is, of course, a personal opinion. It's a shame. We wouldn't return.

03/07/2025: “Dinner, not for everyone” I must say that I recognize the qualities of the chef and the staff, but I cannot avoid issuing this review. The dishes offered are not for everyone, if you are even slightly susceptible, and I am not, you can find “surprises” on the plate, of which you were not aware, which may not be for all palates and all looks, even causing nausea, I am not exaggerating. This led me to give up some courses, it is clear that I took responsibility for it, but I do not believe it is ever 100% the customer's fault, which is why I would have expected a minimum of meeting at least the balance of the dinner, or a small gesture ... which however did not happen, bringing the total to just under € 400 for two people and for a dinner left at just over half. I do not allow myself to judge the taste of the food. But there are objective things that are not right. The aperitif is offered almost as if it were a welcome, only to be found on the bill at a high price. The place is nice and has a good atmosphere, but nothing can justify such a bill in relation to what is offered both in terms of food and experience, one of the worst starred, at least for me. I leave this review with regret. I dedicated the last evening of my trip to Piedmont to it, a mistake, I will not return.

22/06/2025: To start off, I would like to say a good word about the exterior, which has been greatly renovated. The food was good, although it had some imperfections, such as: too much cheese, a hair in the pizza, a sign of little attention, and a dough that was perhaps too sticky. For the rest, everything went smoothly, with good food (as far as the seasoning goes). This is not a criticism of the staff, I know it is not in their power, but in my opinion they should limit the excesses of other customers, such as the vulgar language of the latter, which does not make other customers feel at ease. I hope they can improve compared to this evening.

26/05/2025: Everything was very nice and very polite, excellent food products at the table, the only flaw, at least for me, was the lack of light... it was in the evening... a few more watts would have been the best.

11/05/2025: Tried it with the family. Local created from a former farmhouse in the Asti countryside, excellently renovated in rustic style. Typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine with some reinterpretations in the condiments. Excellent quality and freshness of all the dishes offered, abundant quantity, all courses with an encore: 4 starters, 2 first courses, 1 second course, fruit, dessert and coffee. The 2 bottled wines included are also excellent. All for a truly honest price. Professional and very friendly staff. We will definitely return. Highly recommended!
