13/03/2025: I have been to this place more than once and I can say that I ate well, nothing in particular but I can say that it was good and fresh fish, but this time it was inedible I asked for a lemon sorbet which was also bad and then two cold cuts appetizers 3 first courses and 1 fried dish almost 150 euros because the food was not good it seemed expensive to me. I'm sorry for them but maybe there was another chef.

14/03/2025: My husband and I were traveling from Assisi to San Casciano dei Bangni and because we had time, we chose a spot along Lake Trasimeno for lunch. We had the best meal since we have been in Italy! Our server Mauro, assisted us with understanding the menu and our choices were nothing but perfection! We were served complimentary champagne, a lovely croissant with a fish crème before our enteree. We typically don’t order the three courses and Mauro suggested the (in my English) the fish soup (many types of fish!!!) and I had the plate with shrimps on a towering skewer, prawn, a fish filet, octopus and crab. Amazing presentation! We also had a berry desert…..yum! We were given a tour of the lower level tasting room/dining room. What a treat to see all of the wines and liquors. The owner and my husband traded cigars and it was a lunch we will never forget. The establishment is a wealth of thought out design! Our accolades to the chef!

18/03/2025: Fotonico Restaurant! Original dishes with top quality and food processing. Infinite wine list, and it is a pleasure to listen to the owner Giuseppe describing them. Quiet and welcoming atmosphere, with artistic notes everywhere in the restaurant, from the music to the paintings. We ate 2 Fried veal brain with celery, Chianina meatballs with Brussels sprouts and mustard, and 2 desserts that I don't remember exactly. I leave the photo of the brain, which is a pleasure just to look at. More than fair price. Highly recommended!!!!

13/02/2025: A very nice place, with a quiet and serene atmosphere. I discovered it by chance on a Monday when all the other bars were closed and I was pleasantly surprised. The owner explained to me that all the wines present are organic and natural wines that he personally selects and I must say that he is very good at doing so! I was with a friend of mine and we were both very satisfied with the wine she suggested. Super recommended!

08/03/2025: Both the service and the friendliness of the staff were excellent. Both the pizza and the fried food are good. March 2025 Downgraded to two stars because it was an absurd evening. The fried starters arrived 15 minutes after our other friends had already finished their pizza; Furthermore, the Ascoli olives and cold fried onions arrived. After ten minutes and two reminders they told us that the pizzas would arrive in about ten minutes, whereupon we left. At the checkout, despite complaining about the poor service, they didn't even bother to at least remove the cover since we practically didn't eat anything apart from the fried foods or at least a minimum discount. Absurd

18/03/2025: [A Must-Try Restaurant in Pietralunga] My visit exceeded all expectations. What I ordered: - "Che Razzo di Parmigiano" - Trancio D'Ombrina, Crema di Barbabietola e Asparagi - Dolci della Casa: Millefoglie - Two soft drinks Each dish was carefully prepared and served warm. The balance of saltiness, crispiness, doneness, and sauce pairing was simply perfect! Although I was already full, I couldn't resist ordering dessert. Their millefoglie was a delightful surprise—light and airy, perfect for those who prefer a less heavy custard. I wish I had a second stomach! I'll definitely be back. A heartfelt thank you to Leonardo, Nadia, and Patrizio for their attentive and warm service. You made my experience truly special! My stay here was also a truly enjoyable experience.

01/01/2025: Set in front of the Lombard fortress, they combine modern and medieval charm. I recommend the fish, unusual in the heart of Italy but the skill of the chef and the first class products enhance the flavours.

02/03/2025: We may have hit the wrong day to dine at this restaurant. Unfortunately we waited almost 50 minutes to eat, the waiters brought my dish first causing a further wait for my friend's dish. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful even if it was an experience driven by disorganization.

20/02/2025: Ieri sera ho avuto piacere di cenare con alcuni amici al Deba sushi. Il locale ci ha davvero sorpreso per la qualità e l’originalità dei piatti. Sin dall’ingresso, l’atmosfera è risultata accogliente ed elegante, con un design moderno ma senza eccessi. Il personale è stato molto gentile e disponibile nel consigliarci le specialità della casa. Sushi eccellente, abbiamo apprezzato particolarmente gli abbinamenti creativi proposti dallo chef. In definitiva, una cena tra amici perfetta, in un ristorante che riesce a distinguersi per qualità e creatività. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

01/04/2025: I have been going to this restaurant for a long time and my mistake was to almost always order the paella, which is always excellent. Then one day I started to taste the other dishes too and I realized what we had missed... Obviously we will make up for it next time... wonderful starters, excellent and well cooked fish, top notch desserts. Not to mention the courtesy, kindness and professionalism in the dining room and in the kitchen. I recommend booking as the place is not very large and you risk not finding a seat given the turnout. Upon request, they also do takeaway with on-site collection. Our compliments and keep it up!!! See you soon!!

06/04/2025: I don't know the Massimo of 'before' but the one of today, I say this because I have read some negative reviews, a bit here and a bit there, among the comments online, on the main social networks, and in the local press, a very 'skimpy' number tell of a menu no longer up to the level of the past! Since I was a child, I remember hearing about this restaurant several times, from friends, family and acquaintances, in an uninterrupted loop: "Massimo al lago (...) Massimo al lago (...)"! Personally I must say that Da Massimo you can eat tasty local cuisine at a truly honest price. The tasting menu, which is 90% and perhaps even more of the dishes that come out of the kitchen, includes a simple but genuine cold seafood appetizer, a series of hot seafood courses, two very abundant first courses, such as spaghetti allo scoglio and gnocchi agli scampi, lemon sorbet to cleanse the palate, followed by, as second courses, a sufficient fried seafood and a grilled seafood, also with breadcrumbs, dessert, digestive and/or coffee at the price of €38.00, €40.00 on holidays, what more could you want? It is certainly not fine dining but it has its reasons! Recommended for those looking for substance and not appearance!

05/04/2025: Unfortunately, it's sad to say but it's a far cry from the "Massimo" that made him famous throughout the area. We are, or rather were, regular customers, and for the sake of objectivity we must say that the dishes remained as good as in the past. The disappointing aspect is the prices, in particular on Christmas Eve we ordered 6 portions of their famous scampi cream to take away, totaling 112 euros. Ok the special evening, ok inflation, price increases and everything else, but charging more per portion for a takeaway sauce than the equivalent full first course consumed on site is truly absurd. I didn't point it out at the checkout because for me seriousness still comes first, so we paid as we should and goodbye. Too bad, from decades-long customers.
