29/04/2025: We had a great time, the fish was very good, we took the full menu, everything was good from the appetizer to the dessert, the waiters were very good and quick despite the amount of work they have. The lake view is also beautiful. I hope to return soon.

06/04/2025: I don't know the 'before' Massimo but today's, I say this because I have read some negative reviews, a bit here and a bit there, among the comments online, on the main social networks, and in the local press, a very 'skimpy' number tells of a menu no longer up to the standard of the past! Since I was a child, I remember hearing about this restaurant several times, from friends, family and acquaintances, in an uninterrupted loop: "Massimo al lago (...) Massimo al lago (...)"! Personally I have to say that at Massimo you can eat tasty local cuisine at a truly honest price. The tasting menu, which is 90% and perhaps even more of the dishes that come out of the kitchen, includes a simple but genuine cold seafood starter, a series of hot seafood courses, two very generous first courses, such as spaghetti with seafood and gnocchi with scampi, lemon sorbet to cleanse the palate, followed, as second courses, by sufficient fried seafood and grilled seafood, also with breading, dessert, digestive and/or coffee at the price of €38.00, €40.00 on holidays, what more could you want? It's certainly not fine dining but it has its reasons! Recommended for those looking for substance and not appearance!

25/05/2025: I would like to point out that we had already been to this restaurant, we came back because we had a good time but unfortunately it didn't go that way this time. We ordered an appetizer and two spaghetti with perch with cherry tomatoes and basil. When it was time for the first course, due to a mistake by the waitress, we were brought 2 spaghetti with tomato sauce. We pointed out the mistake, also because we had gone specifically for those spaghetti, the waitress apologized and took the pan to the kitchen telling us that she would have them redone. Not even 5 minutes later, another waitress arrived and brought us the same pan with the addition of perch. So a spaghetti with perch with cherry tomatoes and basil, of course white as the word itself says, was transformed into a spaghetti with tomato sauce with 2 pieces of perch. Basically a spaghetti with tomato sauce paid for as a spaghetti with perch. A situation that was badly handled because they would have made a better impression by telling me that they couldn't redo it and I would have settled for a spaghetti with tomato sauce anyway, which in the end was very good. The customer is not always right...but when he is clearly right...he is!

22/05/2025: Dinner with friends, the kind and welcoming waitress illustrates the Friday evening proposal: a gourmet pizza by the peel in 4 different flavors, plus sweet pizza, and a glass of wine (choice of red, white or rosé) for the sum of 12 €. We accepted and were very satisfied! Excellent pizza, crunchy, digestible, delicious gourmet combinations! Only the "sweet" one needs improvement! Well done! To try!!

23/04/2025: We spent a few days in Sottomarina and, reading the reviews, this one convinced us. Very kind staff and really good and tasty pizza. Crispy and with the family version also very convenient.

19/05/2025: We came in expeciting to eat nice seafood, which was very good but the portion size dissapointed. We have seen the same dish that got on Italians table and our to compare was half the size, literally half the size. Spaghetti alla vongola for Italian table was a mountain of pasta compared to what my girlfriend got. The amount of seafood was not satisfying for 14 euro + 2,5 coperto, even if it was least expensive dish, which was basically alio olio with few mussels (tiny meat inside). You can tell they are nice to tourists but try to rip you off to order more food. Disgraceful for a restaurant, no restaurant in Poland would treat customers differently only because they are tourtists. The red light inside? Ridiculous, get some normal lightbulbs.

17/05/2025: Siamo ritornati dopo un po' di tempo, come sempre una garanzia,pesce sempre fresco,antipasto di mare con parte fredda e sautè caldo di cozze e vongole squisito, tagliatelle all' astice e frittura di mare! Torniamo sempre con piacere 😊

17/05/2025: Great food, generous portions. We were sitting near the door, with the baby in the stroller, it was 10 degrees outside, but the door can't be closed there, eaten in the cold. So much hurry to take away the dishes while we were still eating. Friendly staff and good value for money

22/05/2025: I was passing by and chose this place thinking of eating fresh fish of the day, unfortunately from the appetizer to the second course I was given, with the utmost kindness, all frozen fish, from the hard octopus of the appetizer to the half-raw frozen fillet of the second course. 80s implants, 80s sauces and to finish a tasty sorbet that had only the color of mandarin. The price is too high for the quality of the food offered. Bad choice, I hope I don't run to the bathroom!

12/05/2025: Good service and what I ate was very good, as the place was in a normal room I couldn't rate it as highly as if I had been placed on the terrace which was recommended to me because it was beautiful

02/02/2025: Siamo arrivati e ci siamo seduti alle 20:00 in punto e ci siamo alzati da tavola a mezzanotte, praticamente un ricevimento ad un matrimonio dura meno! Ho cenato diverse altre volte in ristoranti gourmet anche stellati ma mai una cena è durata così tanto, tempi inspiegabilmente biblici, mezzora di orologio tra il pre-dessert e il dessert. Si può scegliere tra tre diversi menù degustazione, i piatti sono curati, di ottima fattura e buonissime materie prime, alcuni abbinamenti azzardati ad esempio ostrica con porcini fermentati, il sapore di questi ultimi non pervenuto. Stessa cosa dicasi per i tagliolini la cui crema di carciofi copriva tutto il resto. Detto questo se dopo cena avevate programmato altro vi toccherà disdire, non si esce prima di 4 ore!

14/12/2024: Grazie per questo viaggio che ci ha fatto sognare, tutti gli studi dello chef li abbiamo ritrovati nei piatti e nella loro presentazione, eravamo dubbiosi sulla scelta del menù degustazione , invece si è rivelato una scoperta dietro l’altra….in questi anni sei cresciuto molto! Complimenti

Dopo una bella passeggiata per il paese e nei dintorni del lago decidiamo per un pranzo in tema "lago" Questo ristorante ci ha offerto quello che desideravamo!!! Locale accogliente e giustamente elegante... che non guasta mai! Personale gentile e molto professionale! Piatti buonissimi, ben presentati..... Buon vino! We are so happy to have come across this place... Amazing prawns with truffles. Super recommended
