13/08/2026: A very elegant and refined restaurant, where we chose to try the chef's tasting menu. We particularly appreciated the presence of the chef in the dining room, especially at the beginning of the service, so we could choose together the menu best suited to our evening. We opted for a mixed menu, mostly fish, with a meat main course. Everything was truly delicious, from the appetizers to the first courses. The spaghetti with sea urchins was undoubtedly my favorite. If I had to find a small flaw, perhaps the duck breast was a bit overcooked, but otherwise everything was excellent, including desserts. Very attentive, polite, and professional service, and a truly refined atmosphere. A very pleasant experience, we will definitely be back!

27/07/2026: Definitely exceptional for both quality and price. Book well in advance, even years in advance. We went two years later. Despite the long wait, it was worth the evening; it was exceptional!

12/08/2026: We went to this place for the first time, and we will definitely be back to eat there. Excellent Florentine steak, equally good side dishes and an incredible selection of wines. Very attentive service, kind and helpful waiters, exceptional price, highly recommended.

20/07/2026: I had a new experience: I dined at home with gourmet restaurant dishes! Yes, it's an experience I recommend. The service and helpful staff were excellent. Excellent, from the appetizer to the main course; I preferred the fish. I compliment the cuisine, and the pizzas are excellent.

05/08/2026: After researching best restaurants in the area we visited. The staff were welcoming, the venue and decor were a bit old fashioned, but we were excited for the food! The wine Sommelier was helpful, and picked a white to begin, and a local red blend suitable for the meat. So at this point we were excited…. The bread came, it was stale, we had to ask for oil? Starters.. The raw fish platter with oysters raw fish was presented in piles (diced with no care) prawns in shells and wasn’t accompanied with anything to note. Oysters were ok (I hope) but again lacked the fresh feel, and classic accompaniments. I began to worry…The tag with ‘shaved truffle’ tasted of only butter, and even though I could see what looked like truffle shavings - it tasted of butter (not truffle), not seasoned, bland, and was very disappointing as we love truffle! We were under whelmed with the starters to say the least! We looked forward to duck 2 ways, with pear, apples, sprouts blahhh. It came one way as far as I could tell? duck was pink (✅) but with balsamic reduction smears, jam? Not sure where the reduced stock was? No sprouts?? Very 1980, Bit greasy, not great, The beef tenderloin with foie gras was rare beef on dry toasted sour dough, truffle shavings (no flavour again) couldn’t find foie gras, no sauce? No flavour, dry, dry , dry!! Really poor. I’m not a complainer generally, and I do know how hard it is to run restaurants (3), I would be embarrassed to serve this food. Not sure this place living on past reputation? when spending £190 euro, 2 person, 2 course with wine I would expect much more. Would not recommend. Sorry

08/08/2026: I’ve been to Per 21 many times over the last few years, and every single one of these visits has been incredible. They really know what they’re doing, and will make your evening dining there one of the best in Lucca. The food is expertly prepared, and each course is as special as the one before it. The wine selection is excellent, and there were options for everyone including any who had dietary restrictions or allergies. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and I’ve lived in Lucca since I was a child! 🦞🥂

Of course, you have to keep in mind that the place is spartan—there's no air conditioning—but the service is very attentive and friendly; the food is generally good, and the portions are generous. Even if some dishes are a bit bland, you'll still leave satisfied.

08/08/2026: A new, refreshing surprise, which is absolutely commendable these days! A lovely location, overlooking a pond that exudes freshness and harmony. Truly friendly staff, and a menu featuring mostly succulent, top-quality seafood. All accompanied by a good wine list. I'd also say the quality/price ratio is very good. I highly recommend it.

10/05/2026: We had a lovely meal at this restaurant in Lucca. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with every dish feeling fresh and thoughtfully prepared. It was also very child friendly, which made the experience even better for us. They were happy to prepare something simple for my nephews that suited them perfectly, which we really appreciated. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. A great spot if you’re looking for great food!

02/05/2026: Top-class restaurant in the center of Lucca. Despite the hustle and bustle of the city, you find yourself in an oasis of calm here. The terrace feels like a cozy living room with greenery and warm lighting. The service is exceptional – truly waited on hand and foot. The dishes are amazing, with surprising combinations of familiar ingredients. An experience we won't soon forget!

There were some flaws in the timing of the dishes, but the quality was largely tolerable. The ladies at the table might have complained about some poor service, but the husband and wife, given the excellent food, overlooked this detail.

When you're fully booked and a customer calls asking for a table, you could take their phone number and, if a table becomes available due to a cancellation or an unexpected event, contact them again. Even if you're unable to call them back, this simple gesture demonstrates your attention and care for the customer. A simple "no room" can leave a negative impression. However, offering a small chance, even just by saying "if you'd like, leave us your number and we'll contact you if a table becomes available," conveys helpfulness, elegance, and professionalism. It's precisely these small gestures, especially in high-end restaurants, that help build a positive relationship with the customer and enhance the restaurant's image.
