17/10/2025: Excellent and very creative food. The cook and host has many years of international experience which one can tell from the dishes. Very welcoming wife who is managing this place fantastically. A real small treasure within buzzing and touristy Lucca.

I believe the location, the dining room where a wonderful lunch or dinner is served, and the dishes themselves speak volumes even more than the reviews themselves. Book and enjoy something unique. Kudos not only to the chef, who, by listening to his guests' preferences, can take you on a unique culinary journey, but especially to the staff, both in the dining room and, above all, in the kitchen. We'll be back... always!

08/11/2025: We recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at La Martinatica, and it was a truly delightful experience on every level. The moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the peaceful charm of the Tuscan countryside – a setting that immediately invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment. The location strikes a perfect balance between rustic and elegant, with thoughtful details that reflect a deep appreciation for both tradition and contemporary comfort. The service was excellent throughout the entire meal. The staff were warm and attentive, striking just the right tone – always available, but never overbearing. It’s clear that hospitality here is taken seriously, and that every guest is made to feel welcome and relaxed. We were offered a tasting menu personally curated by the chef, and it was an exceptional journey through refined and creative cuisine. The menu included a variety of intriguing elements: delicate raw fish, a luxurious truffle and potato combination, perfectly cooked linguine enriched with miso, followed by bold proteins like bison, suckling pig, and quail. Each dish showcased a clear culinary vision – combining high-quality ingredients with modern technique and thoughtful presentation. Most of the courses stood out for their originality and flavor. The raw fish dish was fresh and balanced, the truffle and potato pairing offered an indulgent yet refined start, – a fusion of umami and elegance. The meats were handled with care, each prepared to highlight their unique character without overpowering the palate. Not every dish was a “wow” moment, but the overall experience remained highly impressive. The few elements that were slightly less impactful didn’t detract from the coherence or enjoyment of the meal – if anything, they underscored the chef’s willingness to take creative risks, which we genuinely appreciated. One of the strengths of La Martinatica is how it combines an ambitious, chef-driven menu with the relaxed charm of its surroundings. There’s no pretension here – just a sincere dedication to quality, creativity, and the pleasure of good food. In conclusion, La Martinatica is a destination worth seeking out – whether you’re a curious gourmet or simply looking for a special meal in a beautiful setting. We left feeling both inspired and satisfied, and would gladly return to discover how the menu evolves with the seasons. Highly recommended.

29/10/2025: I've been to this restaurant several times, and when I had a B&B nearby, I sent all my guests there for four years. They all came back, and I mean, they were absolutely thrilled! Very well-maintained place, fantastic food, excellent service. Highly recommended!

07/11/2025: A lovely restaurant where you can enjoy excellent dishes. I would have liked to give it 5 stars for the food, but I'll give it 4 because, unfortunately, the seafood risotto was salty. The appetizer and dessert were exquisite. You can taste the quality of the ingredients used. On-site parking is available.

24/10/2025: A beautiful restaurant on the hill above Pietrasanta, nestled in the greenery along a stream surrounded by bamboo! Beyond the beauty of the location, we can only give 5 stars to the service, the kindness of the staff, and above all, the quality of the dishes, expertly prepared and served with care. The fish is excellent, fresh, and carefully selected. The wine is excellent, reflecting Stefano's passion. You can find excellent, carefully selected French champagnes. And that's coming from me, a fan of Italian sparkling wines. Overall, a wonderful experience, both culinary and wine-related. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing, perfect for enjoying a meal to the fullest. Highly recommended!

25/09/2025: My dad and I have been coming to this restaurant from Livorno for a few years now, and every time it's simply a unique experience! Besides the consistently exceptional culinary quality and meticulous table setting, what surpasses any other restaurant is the professionalism and kindness of the staff (especially Alessio, who always makes us feel at home). Highly recommended to anyone looking for an unforgettable dinner!

02/11/2025: We went to Fornello for the second time, accompanied by a couple of friends. The dinner was good, but I have to make a point: three of us chose the tagliolini with butter and white truffle. Typically, the truffle is cut at the table because it enhances the flavor of the truffle, and the weight per portion should be between 5 and 10 grams. In our case, however, the tagliolini were served directly from the kitchen with the truffle already on top, a minimal amount that left more room for the flavor of the butter. What a shame.

11/10/2025: Historic restaurant, featured in the Michelin Guide several times. The open kitchen and well-stocked fish counter. The raw fish are nothing special, but I'm originally from Bari and am used to much higher standards. Various types of shrimp, the usual tartare. The raw cuttlefish needs a complete overhaul, and the red mullet fillet is tasteless... Very fresh oysters... The Trabaccolara (house specialty) is excellent. Delicious desserts. Impeccable service.

04/10/2025: Fantastic local restaurant, run by a husband and wife. Frequented mainly by local Italians. Owner doesn’t speak English but very friendly and we were able to communicate. Wife cooks fantastic Italian seafood dishes and husband runs front of house, serving everyone. Beautifully cooked seafood dishes. Best compliment I can give is; we have been twice already and because it was consistently good we are going back again for lunch today. Highly recommend
