04/10/2025: Let's be honest, the staff was friendly but we got to have our worst dinner in Sicily there. There was, amongst others, this weird octopus marinated in half butter half soja sauce (I guess a lost attempt at making it "umami") served with super cold side and a traditional couscous which was rougly about pourring the whole package of couscous in the plate and not much more else (other than a pour-it-yourself fish soup, I'm sure my teen would do this meal when they're alone at home). Usually there's some music, maybe it's best to drink and avoid food?

28/09/2025: That was nothing! Since there are unfortunately mostly beach bars and almost no restaurants in Marinella, we chose this restaurant, partly because of its 4.6 rating. However, we can't understand the rating! The ambiance seemed cold, there was a strange vibe, and the service was very odd. When we got our pasta, we were initially disappointed by the small quantities. 5 ravioli for €15? That was a joke 😂 The "pasta alla norma" wasn't the original, but just pasta with eggplant (+ potatoes??). The original cheese was missing. Unfortunately, none of us were satisfied with the taste. Therefore, we don't recommend it...

08/02/2026: The restaurant is located near the Bonagia tuna fishery and overlooks the sea. It features classic furnishings with vintage accents. As soon as you arrive, you're greeted by the very kind and friendly owner, whose affable manner makes you feel right at home. The menu features traditional dishes, both meat-based and with a predominance of seafood. We've been frequenting this restaurant for years, and it's always a pleasant surprise. The first courses are excellent, featuring fresh fish and quality ingredients. I recommend the busiate expo, which are very tasty and have a unique blend of aromas, pistachio, and finicchietto. The fish appetizers and second courses are excellent. Last time, we really enjoyed the fresh swordfish Pantesca-style. The almond parfait and ricotta ravioli were very good. The portions are generous and excellent value. I highly recommend it!

At the door, a kind gentleman provides information on the complicated parking procedures (only one parking spot works with cards and debit cards). Gratefully, we decide to go in. Friendly staff, delicious arancini al burro, and a delicious Genovese for dessert. Fair prices.

09/03/2026: The place is beautiful, because you can choose to sit inside, on the veranda, or on the terrace overlooking the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. The dishes are truly excellent and of excellent quality, beautifully plated and slightly generous. The pizza is soft, and the ingredients used are top-quality. Truly, truly excellent. As for the price, it's a bit steep... I'll be back, but in a few months... ...I finally returned after 3 years, but with a few more friends, only 20 people. I had told friends about this wonderful place and we decided to do it on Women's Day. Our wives were super, super happy to have chosen this place, both for the friendliness, the hospitality, the skill, the atmosphere, and above all for the food, which was delicious. We took advice from the owner, a very nice young woman with a polite manner and attentive to our requests, and she offered and delighted us with fabulous dishes from appetizers to pizza... Compliments to all the staff and especially for the cleanliness. Compliments again... I've attached the receipt to confirm my attendance. The final price seems high, but in the end it's only 20 euros per person. Everything was delicious, and the portions were truly generous...

02/01/2026: Terrible experience for Christmas lunch. Rude welcome with inappropriate comments about diet—if we were on a diet, we certainly wouldn't have eaten at a restaurant. At this point, I think even he knew the portions were ridiculous, even for a diet. They served us a medium-sized risotto dish and another with 16 paccheri for five people (only three raw paccheri per person, and not enough risotto for five). Breaded swordfish was the main course, but the breading wasn't the best, and that's the excuse for the broken cash machine. Highly not recommended.

18/02/2026: This was my first time at this restaurant. Beautiful view of the harbor. Pleasant atmosphere, very friendly and incredibly attentive waiter. I arrived a bit early, and the kitchen wasn't open yet, so they offered to let me wait and order an aperitif in the meantime. After that, they took care of my other orders and requests very quickly. The food was good. The bruschetta was excellent – ​​crispy yet juicy, with a good amount of garlic. I also had spaghetti Bolognese. It lacked a bit of a wow factor for me. Next time, I'd probably try the highly praised pasta with Sicilian pesto, but tonight I was in the mood for meat. However, the quality of the Parmesan cheese really elevated this dish; it was an incredible treat. The chocolate soufflé was good, although the center wasn't completely melted. Since it's listed on the menu as a ready-made item, I assume they simply adhere very strictly to the prescribed cooking times. It still tasted very chocolatey and rounded off the evening nicely. The food was more than good value for money. The drinks, however, were a different story: I personally found €10 for a Spritz Siciliano to be very expensive. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my evening and would gladly return.

06/12/2025: We came here on the last night of our trip and it was delicious. Not the best pasta I had in Castellammare, but it was flavourful and huge portions with lots of seafood. The addition of curry in the ravioli sauce was unusual but it worked. The staff are very friendly - we ordered a carafe of wine and only had the thick stemmed water glasses. They were quick to bring us proper white wine glasses and were welcoming of our attempts at Italian! The outside area is on a slant which isn’t the most comfortable but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. I would come here again!

08/11/2025: In September, we dined at "La.maidda" a few evenings and had a wonderful time. The first and second courses were incredibly fresh fish. The tuna and pistachio steak was fantastic. The house wine was excellent. The price was reasonable for the dishes. Recommended!
