The food was excellent, exquisite. Everything was plated with simplicity and elegance. The waiters were always present and available to everyone. The dishes were simple, but with a unique flavor. Finally, cuisine worthy of being savored. The only shame was not having met them sooner. But now they're here for us. Thanks, guys. 19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.

13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate. We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip. The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer. If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

02/11/2025: I was there yesterday with my wife. We found a dirty room. At first, they gave us a small table that was completely wobbly. I lifted the tablecloth and found cardboard boxes to hold it down, and a hundred feet on the tablecloth. The seafood appetizer was poor quality, with dirty au gratin mussels still with the rope from the remover attached. When we presented it to the waiter, we explained that they were expensive, so perhaps the manpower to clean them was reduced to keep costs down. The fried calamari was of terrible quality, which you can find much better in a street food shop. The service was approximate. Finally, the bill was disproportionate for what we ate and the quality served. They even charged us for a beer that we didn't even consume. A final point: we weren't given a menu to choose from. In short, it's not an à la carte restaurant, but a self-service restaurant in an industrial area.

22/10/2025: What is this restaurant? I wrote on their website to make a reservation: no response. I go: door open, lights on: they tell me it's closed. How absurd!

09/11/2025: One of the best experiences I've ever had in Salento. Highly recommended, it never disappoints in every way: captivating menu, top-quality ingredients, attentive and smiling service, pleasant and warm atmosphere, and well-spaced tables. The appetizers are excellent, and everything else is consistent... right down to the desserts!

24/04/2025: Non sono abituato a scrivere una recensione di getto ma la pasta e patate con scampi appena servita è da urlo. Con quella nota piccante c he non sovrasta assolutamente la comunione di sapori perfetta e piena di gusto con sapori autentici. L’antipasto molto buono ed una nota particolare sui crostoni alla cipolla. Trovato grazie ad un commento carpito sulla spiaggia. Da provare se si è in zona. Prezzi onesti per la qualità proposta. Servizio impeccabile.

23/02/2025: Una serie di errori e disattenzioni soprattutto sull’aspetto gluten free, ma anche nel servizio, tuttavia a parte alcuni dettagli dei piatti si mangia abbastanza bene, ma ci sono aspettative troppo alte.

30/10/2025: I found it a bit expensive and a little oily. Panino tomato tuna €9, café americano €3.50, perhaps because I had something similar yesterday in Lacco Ameno that was cheaper and tastier.

25/09/2025: Kind and attentive service—that's the best thing about Oste! A prawn-based Catalana dish that has nothing Catalan about it, except a little onion. The octopus is a bit tough, and having tasted the dishes of my companions, I can say that the quality is similar. The price is typical of a tourist restaurant for a place that had (or should have) so many cards to play. What a shame.

02/11/2025: Four of us went for pizza on Saturday night, after spending a lovely afternoon in the city with friends wandering the streets of Lecce, shopping, and so on. We couldn't wait to relax for a moment over a good pizza at a nice place like Tagghiate. Too bad the service was too invasive and stressful. The waiter was constantly checking to see if the beer bottles were empty so he could take them away, or if the plates were empty. There was constant coming and going to check on the table to see how far along we were with the small appetizer so he could bring the pizzas immediately. And so it was. There was constant peeking at our table, even while we were eating the pizzas. It was clear the goal was to free up the table. It wasn't as if we were in a school lunchroom, after all. The pleasure of talking is a bit of privacy among friends over a good pizza. We chose this place because until recently it wasn't like that. I have to say it was a bit of a disappointing experience. So, after just 40 minutes, we were already out. I think at least an hour for a pizza with friends is normal. Too bad.

28/04/2025: È stata una piacevole serata, il menù fisso, previsto per motivi organizzativi , ha soddisfatto tutti i commensali, porzioni abbondanti e per chi volesse c'è stato anche il bis. Ottimi i taglieri di salumi e formaggi, i fritti da antipasto ma anche le varie portate tra mare e terra, il tutto accompagnato da vino primitivo. Servizio veloce, ordinato, efficiente e cortese. L'ambiente molto accogliente, spazioso. Da tenere presente per ritornarci al più presto.
