04/10/2025: As a resident of Via Plinio, I find the external structure built by Portobello during the Covid period unacceptable. This temporary and cheap construction is profoundly out of place in the surrounding urban context, characterized by historic buildings of architectural value. The structure occupies valuable parking spaces, often forcing cars to double-park or third-park. Eating where there used to be regular parking spaces, surrounded by PVC walls and a transparent corrugated plastic roof, represents a visual and practical degradation. It resembles more a makeshift chicken coop or even a favela, no matter how many plants are added, than an extension of the restaurant. The shack at Via Plinio 29. The chairs, more uncomfortable than the ones inside, expose customers to the smog of a busy street. The structure uses poles identical to those used for scaffolding on construction sites. I understand the need for outdoor expansion during the pandemic emergency, but today, five years later, the structure is completely unjustified. The electrical system features exposed cables and pipes that may not be compliant, potentially posing a danger to passersby and the staff themselves (see photo). The structure also narrows the roadway near the roundabout, creating serious traffic risks. When the establishment is open, customers and uniformed staff smoke freely outside, exposing passersby and residents to secondhand smoke. This behavior contradicts the seriousness one would expect from a responsible establishment: as of January 1, 2025, smoking in Milan is prohibited in any outdoor area unless you are at least 10 meters away from other people. A responsible establishment might opt ​​for elegant metal and glass outdoor seating, as is the case with other businesses in the area, but here, a construction that is out of place has been constructed. The exterior paintwork, in a "jungle green" graffiti style, does not comply with the urban decorum criteria established by the City of Milan, which require neutral shades such as gray, beige, or black (municipal regulations available on the City's website). During the cold season, the structure remains unused, amplifying its negative impact. Often, when the venue is closed, the enormous wooden crate-like benches become a refuge for beggars and vagrants; furthermore, they are padlocked and serve as containers, a sign that the structure is far more complex than the law probably allows for a temporary outdoor area. It therefore does not appear to be easily removable, as is typically the case for this type of installation. Therefore, thorough compliance checks for the entire structure are necessary. In summary, this outdoor extension is poorly designed, dangerous, occupies public space, and degrades the street in a valuable historical context, showing little respect for urban decorum and current regulations. The structure should be removed because it is unattractive, neither for customers nor residents. Instead, resources could be invested in renovating the interior, which has remained stuck in the 1980s. I urge all fed-up residents to promptly report the situation via the City of Milan's "Citizen File" app, using the section dedicated to anonymous reports, to contribute to the decorum and livability of our neighborhood.

08/07/2025: Siamo stati a cena con mia moglie la sera dell' 8 luglio, e siamo stati molto bene. Location storica, arredata con stile e gusto. Accoglienza discreta e professionale. Un piccolo entree delicato e gustoso. Abbiamo scelto per un antipasto condiviso, una ottima tavolozza di salumi con la giardiniera fatta in casa. Poi io ho preso un branzino delle Canarie cotto su tavolozza di sale, con una particolare e deliziosa maionese senza uovo. Mia moglie ha scelto per la grigliata, filetto di fassona con patate. Piatti curati, qualità davvero elevata, il servizio in sala eccellente ed empatico. Abbiamo ricevuto preziosi suggerimenti in particolare per i dessert. Per questi ultimi, che dire il Negroni Sbagliatissimo (analcolico) è sublime ed è difficile da descrivere, occorre provarlo gustando col cucchiaino puntato fino al fondo e poi appunto dal basso verso l'alto. Mia moglie ha preso uno strudel particolare, realizzato anche con ananas e cocco; delicato, leggero, buono. Ringraziamo Villa Campari, Chef e tutto lo Staff, per la bella serata e gli attimi di gusto e serenità. Il servizio in sala: grande attenzione all'ospite, complimenti . Ritorneremo. 21/06/2025: Siamo tornati per la seconda volta a Villa Campari per festeggiare una ricorrenza speciale in coppia, e ancora una volta è stata un’esperienza molto piacevole. La location è davvero suggestiva, soprattutto in estate: cenare all’aperto, nel giardino della villa storica, con le luci soffuse e il cielo che si colora al tramonto, ha creato l’atmosfera perfetta per una serata romantica. Un’oasi elegante e curata, immersa nel verde, pur trovandosi a pochi passi da Milano. Abbiamo scelto un menù fisso a base di pesce, che ci ha pienamente soddisfatto sia per qualità che per presentazione dei piatti. Prima di iniziare la cena, ci è stata offerta la possibilità di prendere un aperitivo: abbiamo optato per un Aperol classico e un Aperol Campari, serviti con attenzione e gusto. Molto apprezzata anche la disponibilità del personale nel permetterci di cambiare il dessert previsto dal menù fisso, dimostrando attenzione verso le preferenze del cliente. Il servizio è stato cortese, discreto e professionale per tutta la durata della serata. Consigliamo sicuramente Villa Campari, sia per una cena romantica che per occasioni speciali: è un posto che unisce charme storico, buona cucina e accoglienza di livello. E noi torneremo sicuramente ancora!

21/09/2025: We ate there on our first evening in Milan. It was a great start to our vacation. The food was very good and the service super friendly. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we got a seat. We'd love to come back.

24/09/2025: What can I say? I've been going there for 20 years, sometimes with just a couple of people, sometimes with friends. I've always eaten excellently. The food is refined, plentiful, and always well-prepared. The wine selection is excellent. The place is clean and well-organized. All the facilities are spotless and the staff are friendly. The service is good and the prices are commensurate with the quality. Well done. It deserves a solid 10+++. Go with confidence and a good appetite, if you can make it to the end of the meal. As for the quality and quantity, it must be said that the culinary tradition, which has been built on years of experience, does not lie.

18/10/2025: We discovered this restaurant by chance and were very pleasantly surprised by the value for money. The food was truly delicious, and our two children's dietary preferences were easily accommodated. A very wide selection of dishes, all freshly prepared and delicious. The service was very fast, super friendly, and accommodating! We were truly delighted to discover this restaurant on our last evening after falling victim to a few tourist rip-offs where the food wasn't nearly as tasty as here. Please stay the way you are! We'll definitely pass this tip on to everyone and will definitely come back when we're back in Milan!

31/07/2025: Had dinner last night after a couple of years. Excellent renovation of the veranda. The quality of the food (fish dinner) and service is consistently high. We had a Gin and Tonic, very well prepared by the waitress. Highly recommended.

22/07/2025: A very well-maintained restaurant with friendly, helpful staff. It's unique because it feels like a real mountain farmhouse, given the decor and the rock walls. A refined restaurant, excellent for special occasions. Prices are expensive, but I think they're reasonable for the quality. With a glass of wine, a first course, a dessert, and water, I spent almost €30. I'll probably only return for special occasions.

03/08/2025: One of my favorite restaurants and definitely my first and only choice for seafood! The deliciousness of the dishes is unparalleled, from the starters to the main courses, and even the desserts. The mixed grilled seafood melts in your mouth, but even the more sophisticated dishes offer a unique experience. A visit is highly recommended; you'll fall in love!

19/09/2025: Aperitivo on the terrace during Tokyo Week: Japanese appetizers with truly delicious and unique cocktails, all Made in Japan. A sophisticated atmosphere and a beautiful view of Milan's central station, along with excellent service. It's a shame the prices are a bit high for an aperitivo, and the portions are... "minimal"! I'd love to try their Sunday brunch.

I came to this restaurant with my partner to celebrate an event, motivated precisely by all these wonderful reviews. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed; perhaps we had high expectations, I don't know, but you expect a lot from a place with such high prices. The parking was terrible; upon leaving, we had to call another customer who had blocked us with his car. The waiters were kind but unprofessional. The raw fish was good, but the fried fish wasn't, rubbery and lacking in fish, served without even a slice of lemon. I asked for a hand towel, which never arrived. The wine was good but really expensive. I ordered a first course, described by the waitress as a specialty, which tasted like those ready-made meals from the supermarket. We didn't order anything else, all this for €130!!! I'm sorry, but it wasn't a great experience for us. What a shame.
