16/08/2025: In the little square of Porto Venere, with the sea in the background, a wonderful location. We ate excellent appetizers, special fried food, crispy but not greasy, with truly delicious carrots. Delicious desserts, definitely worth trying! Compliments for everything.

31/08/2025: An excellent restaurant with very friendly staff and a great selection of wines. The carbonara was perfect, and the fish main course was just as impressive. I can’t recall the name of the strawberry dessert with gelato, but it was outstanding. We enjoyed a warm conversation with the staff and were even treated to a complimentary grappa.

11/09/2025: It's hard to find place to eat in Portofino. There are just a few restaurants and you do not have any choice, because the choice is limited. This place had the highest rate, so we choose this.
What about this trattoria. Nothing special, food quite generous. Another thing you will be charged for water and "coperto", let's call it "service" 4 euro per person.

11/07/2025: Siamo tornati quattro mesi dopo un’ottima cena. Che delusione! Cosa è successo? Antipasto di tonno crudo minimale (50 g al massimo), poi orata al sale per due (circa 700 grammi al modico costo di 80€) di sapore salmastro, per finire dolcetti di modesta fattura. Una bottiglia di vino da 40€ che su internet si compra per 15€. Insomma circa 210€ per mangiar male. Cosa resta di positivo? La splendida vista sul golfo e su tutto

22/05/2025: Casi siempre marcamos la opción "Vista Escénica" en los filtros TA, pero se nos permitió elegir durante nuestra visita a la ciudad costera de Camogli, Italia. A menudo nos preocupamos un poco por los restaurantes basados en hoteles que tememos que hayan terminado, con un precio que cubre sus gastos generales extensos, pero Il Doge valió la pena la pequeña prima.
Los langostinos a la parrilla eran algunos de los mejores que habíamos probado - condimento encantador, cáscara principal cortésmente quitado, cocinado justo para estar tierno y jugoso. Tenía la pasta de mariscos que era delicioso.
Una ventaja adicional era que su terraza tenía toldos y el clima pronosticaba algunas duchas que pasaban por allí. Así que pudimos sentarnos bajo su protección y disfrutar de nuestras vistas panorámicas a pesar de un toque de inclemencias del tiempo.

14/07/2025: Situato in una stradina parallela al budello principale di Cogoleto questo ristorante, dall’esterno, non vi colpirà particolarmente con insegne luminescenti o cartelli pubblicitari ma, appena entrati, vi sentirete un po’ come a casa vostra. Non posso non partire dalla signora Ada, la vera storia di questo locale. Ci accoglie come fossimo degli abituè, amici di famiglia, vicini di casa. Ed è proprio così che ci si sente dopo qualche minuto passato insieme. La spiegazione dettagliata del menù non è la solita tiritera di piatti, ingredienti o elenco di materie prime … ogni piatto ci viene descritto insieme alla sua storia, i suoi aneddoti, la ricetta, il modo di come la signora Ada (o semplicemente Ada come lei vuole essere chiamata) lo cucina a casa sua. Questa accoglienza, così diversa da qualsiasi posto che ho frequentato in tutti questi anni, mi ha fatto innamorare di questo posto prima ancora di assaggiare una qualsiasi pietanza e ho già, sorprendentemente, l’acquolina in bocca.
Siamo in quattro e ognuno di noi prende uno starter diverso. Il guazzetto di muscoli (cozze per i non Liguri), il Cenonno composto da una serie di piattini con assaggi mare e monti, caldi o freddi, polpo e patate, mentre io scelgo il piatto che avevo già visto sul loro sito web: code di gamberi avvolti nel lardo d’Arnad con stracciatella di burrata, semplicemente spaziali, cotti alla perfezione, con materie prime di altissima qualità, sono entrati di prepotenza nella mia personalissima top 10 di piatti più buoni mangiati nella mia vita !
Qui Ada, ci grazia della ricetta “casalinga” di questo piatto, semplicissima, rapidissima ma con ingredienti che devono essere necessariamente di ottima qualità !
Proseguiamo questa esperienza culinaria eccezionale, con i ravioli di burrata con pomodorini, basilico e acciughe di Cetara, delicatissimi, preparati alla perfezione e cotti al dente come piacciono a me.
Finiamo con la “Tavolozza di dolci” tutti provenienti dalla Campania e Sicilia, uno più buono dell’altro. Io però ho scelto la delizia al limone tutta per me e ho fatto bene in quanto era veramente troppo golosa per condividerla con qualcuno.
Di una cosa sono convinto adesso, il ristorante Nonno Cuoco è sicuramente la mia prima scelta a Cogoleto.
13/07/2025: Located on a narrow street parallel to the main street of Cogoleto, this restaurant may not particularly impress you from the outside with its neon signs or advertising, but as soon as you enter, you'll feel a little at home. I can't help but start with Signora Ada, the true story of this place. She welcomes us as if we were regulars, family friends, neighbors. And that's exactly how you feel after spending a few minutes together. The detailed explanation of the menu isn't the usual rigmarole of dishes, ingredients, or a list of raw materials... each dish is described to us along with its history, its anecdotes, the recipe, and the way Signora Ada (or simply Ada, as she prefers to be called) cooks it at home. This welcome, so different from any other place I've frequented in all these years, made me fall in love with this place before even tasting a single dish, and my mouth is already, surprisingly, watering.
There are four of us, and we each choose a different starter. The mussel stew (mussels for non-Ligurians), the Cenonno, a series of small plates with hot and cold seafood and mountain appetizers, octopus, and potatoes, while I chose the dish I'd already seen on their website: shrimp tails wrapped in Arnad lard with burrata stracciatella. Simply out of this world, cooked to perfection, with the highest-quality ingredients, it's now firmly in my personal top 10 of the best dishes I've ever eaten!
Ada, please share the "homemade" recipe for this dish—very simple, very quick, but with ingredients that must be top-quality!
We continue this exceptional culinary experience with burrata ravioli with cherry tomatoes, basil, and Cetara anchovies—delicate, perfectly prepared, and cooked al dente, just the way I like them.
We finish with the "Palette of Desserts," all sourced from Campania and Sicily, each one better than the last. I, however, chose the lemon delight all for myself, and I was right to do so, as it was truly too delicious to share.
One thing I'm now convinced of: Nonno Cuoco is definitely my first choice in Cogoleto.

06/09/2025: The spaghetti was delicious, especially the one with seafood and Bolognese. The lemon sorbet was simply delicious! I highly recommend it. Some of the waiters even spoke German.
05/09/2025: Too expensive for the quality and quantity of the food you get (empty your pockets or stay hungry). The staff was fake smilingly stressed, tbe atmosphere touristically awkward. Bad value for money

Davvero eccellenti i ravioli ripieni di pesce con pomodorini e scampetti. La spinta del limone si sente e rende il piatto fresco e bilanciato.

05/10/2025: I would have loved to leave a review about the food, but... they forgot about my order 😂
After waiting two hours for the entrees, mine never arrived. By then, it was midnight and the kitchen was closing.
The dancers were excellent, the place was nice (the bathrooms a little less so), but if you're hungry... it's best to look elsewhere.
Oh, and groups can only order three entrees, which is a bit limiting.
21/09/2025: You should only go if you have two and a half hours to spare for a first course. Very expensive, mediocre food, and terrible service. Slow, unprofessional. They focus entirely on the show, which is nice but nothing special.

30/08/2025: We went to this restaurant to eat seafood pasta and the photos published on the website seemed promising. However, as soon as the plates arrived at the table, a big disappointment was felt: the portions were so small that we wondered if we were at lunch or for a tasting. A few seafood dueling over some spaghetti (at least the taste was there) We left with half-empty stomachs but a few euros lighter in our wallets.

21/09/2025: We didn’t have a reservation, but surprisingly got a table within the minute of us entering the restaurant. But that’s about everything that was pleasant about the visit. The complementary bread we were served was dried out and hard as a brick. As Antipasti we ordered the Pulpo e Patate which was okay size wise but was missing flavor. It was also a bit dry. Then, as mains, my parents each chose the Grigliata mista (seafood grill mix) which came together on one plate the serving size of one dish, and I chose the Tuna which compared to the tables around us ordering the same dish as me was notably smaller than the others. The Italians ordering the Tuna were served different garnishes on top the tuna as well as almost twice the amount of Tuna on a plate much bigger than mine. This was honestly quite the let- down but after skimming through some negative reviews we were met with the same experience from others. Do not recommend this restaurant as a tourist, and if it’s your only option - go for the menu as it comes with bigger portions as well.
20/09/2025: Truly dry bread! The food could, or rather, should, be better seasoned! Apparently we got the "tourist version," with significantly smaller portions than the other tables! Really, not going there again.

20/09/2025: The apple strudel with ice cream was worlds better than the very dry swordfish.
Although they charge €2.50 for a baguette, you almost had to beg for bread; what you got was a very tough, stale baguette, with only three pieces.
19/09/2025: I returned after a few months for a dinner with friends and did not find the same quality. The mussels were definitely not up to the standard of previous times and the tuna with vegetables was too dry. The prices are also too high for the quality of the dishes. Always friendly staff.
