26/01/2026: We entered, drawn by the 4.4 Google rating, but our first impression was immediately negative: the room was deserted and the atmosphere dull, which should have been concerning. The decor is decidedly dated and ugly, with those red and black rose-patterned tiles that make the space heavy and unwelcoming. As for the food, we were completely disappointed. The prices for the appetizers are very high, which is unjustifiable given the quality. We ate frozen fish and flavorless first courses. The menu is too extensive: there are too many dishes on the menu, and the quality suffers significantly. It's much better to offer a few well-made dishes than thirty poorly executed ones. Paying €40 per person for this experience is a real shame. It seems the chef has lost his passion for good food. A restyling of the restaurant and a thorough overhaul of the menu are absolutely necessary. Not recommended. ————- His response is as childish as it is revealing. You confuse hunger with enjoyment: we finished the (mediocre) ravioli simply because we were hungry, but the tagliolini were left there precisely because they were inedible. Instead of lashing out at the customers' style or making absurd comparisons to France, you should ask yourself why a "historic" establishment serves frozen fish and tasteless dishes. Attacking guests' clothing is the last resort of those who no longer know how to cook. Best regards to you and your rudeness.

04/01/2026: I have only positive things to say about this restaurant. The food is fantastic, made with quality ingredients that you can taste, the waiters are kind and helpful, and the location is lovely. We had the mussels as an appetizer (exquisite), the Genoese-style sea bream (super delicate, melt-in-your-mouth), and the trofie with pesto (I've never had pesto this good). To round out the meal, there were two tiramisu dishes, one classic and one pistachio.

10/01/2026: 5 star service, exquisite food and atmosphere in Ospedalleti, Liguria. Massimo, his wife as well as his awesome staff were truly accommodating and warm with my friends and I during a very busy Sunday. While other restaurants were refusing customers due to the holiday, Massimo was kind enough to suggest us to grab ‘aperitifs’ and enjoy the view, while waiting to free the table. What an absolute pleasure to start the new year 2026 with such an inspiring lunch. Il Cantuccio is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visit in Europe, not only Italy. Such a shame that I live a few 100s km away, but the memories and gratitude are on my heart. Thanks a lot Massimo and team. 👏

06/01/2026: I wanted to eat some good fried food, but I remembered the previous management I'd frequented for years, with reasonable prices and good quantities and quality. Management has changed, the place has improved aesthetically, prices have gone up, but the portions of fried food have shrunk to a minimum. The price-to-quantity ratio in this case is rather poor.

10/02/2026: This place is amazing! The food is excellent, the service is fantastic, and the selection is wide! Recommended, everything is delicious! If we have the chance, we will definitely be back.

18/10/2025: Lunch with a fantastic sea view. The location is a bit dated. Attentive service. Good menu selection and well-cooked food. The bill was quite high, but the view was worth the trip! Recommended.

02/01/2026: We had a delicious meal. We only ordered vegetarian dishes (spaghetti and ravioli, salad, and dessert), which were very fresh and authentically Italian. The service was friendly but reserved; it was admirable how the owner managed everything single-handedly. Excellent value for money! The only downside was the ambiance, as it was quite chilly in the restaurant (in January). The background music was also interesting – hard rock! 😆👍

13/10/2025: A well-known restaurant with consistently delicious, well-crafted dishes. Reasonable value for money. Excellent dinner sitting outside in the small alleyway. It's a shame that, since the tables aren't covered, a pigeon didn't try to ruin my dinner, just my shirt! First course with squid ink and fried seafood with a few vegetables.

20/02/2026: Although the food is reasonably good, albeit with a very repetitive menu, I don't recommend it due to the terrible service. I think it's the only place in Sarzana where, if you make a reservation, they assign you the worst seats. The waitress who welcomed us and who currently works the dining room is completely lacking in empathy, almost annoyed, and unreasonably inclined to underwhelm customers. We've been frequenting this restaurant occasionally for a while, and the staff used to be much friendlier. The service is truly embarrassing. After mentioning the service issues, I'll list a few technical flaws: incorrect orders sent back, cutlery not changed between meals, and the waitress moving it from the plate to the tablecloth, dirtying the surface. Soapstones cracked from cooking raw meat (they were intact before). I advise the owner to review the staff, perhaps supporting them with psychotherapy. Personally, I prefer to spend my money in more worthy places. This is not the case here. P.S. I see from the reviews that this is a fairly common negative opinion. It's easy to lose customers.

24/11/2025: A lot of restaurants in Monterosso were closed when we went and this is one of the only ones that’s open that’s at least 4/5 so we gave it a shot. Staff were super friendly and kind. Food was good but the seafood spaghetti was on the salty side. The fried mixed seafood was on point though! Not salty at all, crispy, well cooked inside! The two dishes balanced each other out. Their tiramisu was to die for!!! Would go back there just for that. They were pet friendly and kid friendly too. They had a baby chair for our daughter.

26/11/2025: Every time I go there, I have a great experience. The staff is very polite and friendly. The homemade food is plentiful, and the pesto is amazing. I've had linguine with pesto elsewhere, but it was awful in comparison for 18 euros. I've never had a bad meal at Ciclamino.

30/12/2025: Service was too fast. The appetizers were good. The first courses were too generous. It's a shame because we wanted a second course as well. The location was beautiful. However, it was excellent value for money.

29/12/2025: In a panoramic location that is worth the trip, it offers a (free) fish-based menu.

20/02/2026: I ate at this restaurant with a friend and we had a great time. The tagliolini alle 7 panze were excellent, full of seafood. The house wine was good. The warm chocolate-filled cake was not to be missed. Friendly service and average prices. We'll be back!
