02/06/2026: Giggetto is undoubtedly one of the most famous restaurants in the area, well-known and consistently well-reviewed. I tried it for the first time and was not disappointed. The location needs no introduction: it's fortunate to be on the lake in a breathtaking setting! Eating al fresco among the trees in the garden overlooking the lake is priceless. The menu is classic, with simple dishes for all tastes (both meat and fish). Everything is well-cooked and the ingredients are top-quality (the sea bream was truly excellent). The service could be improved. We had the fried lake fish, perfect in quantity (in fact, I'd say abundant) and quality! The purgatory beans, baked sea bream with potatoes, and sliced ​​tuna. It definitely deserves its name!!

18/08/2026: Each time, a wonderful discovery! We were lucky because we showed up without a reservation and managed to get a table for two. For appetizers, my husband had the daily special: tentacolo di polpo alla brace. And I opted for the second helping of lake fish tartare. For the main course, the special was duck breast with a wild berry sauce. For dessert, we had caffemisu and lemontart! The wine recommendations were perfect! Another magical moment with top-notch service!!! Exceptional value for money!

17/08/2026: Personally, I always avoid writing negative reviews, partly out of deep respect for those who work hard in the restaurant industry. This time, however, I can't remain silent: I blindly trusted the many extremely positive reviews I found online, but the reality was a real shock. The restaurant offered a limited, bare-bones menu—just three first courses, three second courses, five appetizers, and five desserts. With so few options, it seemed like service would be quick and efficient. That illusion vanished within minutes. Between courses, we had time to discuss the big picture, reevaluate our life choices, and age ten years. More than a dinner, it was a spiritual retreat, waiting for a sign (or a dish). Food quality: With such a limited selection, the cuisine should have excelled. Instead, the dishes were of embarrassing quality, cold, and served with the same passion as a company cafeteria on a rainy Monday. The gem of the day: When we timidly remarked on the biblical timing, the waitress dismissed us with unparalleled logic: "Well, today is a special day, it's Ferragosto." A surreal justification, given that August 15th is a holiday predictable for anyone in this profession, not a sudden seismic event. If you decide to open on Ferragosto and offer a mere four-course meal, you should at least guarantee the food will arrive before autumn. A terrible experience, inconceivable given the restaurant's reputation.

There's no set menu, but about eight courses, consisting of various appetizers, a first course, a second course, and a dessert. The surprise lies in the apparent simplicity and the delicious flavors created from excellent ingredients. We finished everything, including a bottle of white wine. Liquors and coffee to finish.

24/07/2026: The restaurant offers a fixed menu featuring several courses, all fish-based, including wine, water, coffee, liqueurs, and dessert. Last night we ate a total of eight dishes; one is missing from the photos because I didn't take one, not because it wasn't good, but because I forgot. The unique thing is that you sit down and when they bring your dishes, they describe them to you on the spot, without knowing what you're getting; each dish is a taste discovery. At the end of the dinner, they set up a table with all the liqueurs and a giant moka pot, which everyone serves themselves. A wonderful experience, I'll definitely be back.

Seafood appetizer, fried calamari and baked potatoes (excellent). Local sour cherry mousse was top-notch. Professional and friendly staff. We loved it.

The appetizers at Picchio Rosso are excellent, especially the exquisite seafood salad and fried shrimp. The base for everything is excellent olive oil from nearby Canino. The first courses, featuring high-quality fish, are exquisite. Courtesy and smiles complete the picture. Being so early, we ate at a very normal time.
