31/05/2026: So, we're still sitting in the restaurant…so all the impressions are still fresh in our minds. Actually, at least six stars would do the experience justice…and it would become our go-to spot for special moments if it were closer. As it is, we simply have to enjoy the evening and cherish the experience! To sum it up: The service was very attentive, personal, and quick! We felt comfortable from the very first moment. The food was perfect, and many of the little touches were simply brilliant (e.g., the pizza bread slices at the beginning, the pastries with olives baked inside, the little cookies with the perfect espresso!). 13/05/2026: It's always a pleasure to eat at the Darsena. If you want to eat refined, high-quality food, you're in the right place. The staff is top-notch and very knowledgeable, the wine list is truly extensive, and you can also taste delicacies from Friuli, but not only that. I highly recommend coming at least once in your life to be tickled by such deliciousness, plus the superb view of the inner marina with yachts.

The ambience, cuisine, friendliness, and quality make this restaurant a true gem, especially since it's located in a quaint hamlet, expertly enhanced by the owner. In short...a guarantee! Prices are, of course, fair, just like everything else.

10/05/2026: Update May 2026: After the change of management, I'm taking one star off the pizza, which isn't as good as it used to be. Simply the best pizza you'll find in Udine. Light, flavorful, always a guarantee. Well done.

18/05/2026: A little hidden gem, located a bit off the main promenade. Delicious food with exceptionally friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. The only drawbacks are its location right on the main road and the fact that there's no smoking ban in the outdoor seating area (which was covered with tarpaulins during our visit).

04/04/2026: We had lunch for two without a reservation, and they had availability! The dining room was beautiful, and we had raw fish. The octopus was my favorite. The scallops, unfortunately, were a bit sandy! Highly recommended!

24/03/2026: Trattoria da Balan is a restaurant that leans toward the elegant, yet where you can enjoy a relaxed lunch or dinner. Perfect for a business lunch, whether you need to chat or it's a proper business breakfast. The traditional dishes are excellent; I tried the gnocchetti with a delicious duck ragù sauce. In short, a place that feels more like a high-end restaurant than a traditional trattoria.

03/05/2026: The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had mussels with pepper, grilled sea bass, fried calamari, French fries, wine, and water. Everything was delicious. Recommended.

03/06/2026: A wonderful experience. When I arrived, it was already packed, but we tried to get in line anyway. A member of staff stood in line asking how many of us there were and told us the estimated time it would take to get a table, which was accurate. The place is beautifully decorated inside, and the restrooms are spotless. The only thing I would recommend is putting more stable tables outside, because having a table that moves while you're cutting the meat isn't ideal. The staff was friendly and quick to serve the dishes, which were delicious (we chose seafood pasta and a cutlet). The service charge is €4, which seems a bit high, but it also includes a plate of rosemary focaccia to start the meal and orange sorbet with limoncello to finish, both of which were very well received. Also, a special touch is that they bring a bowl of gummy bears with the sorbet, which I really appreciated. That said, the value for money is fantastic and I can't wait to go back to try other dishes.
