19/09/2025: Everything was delicious. One small flaw: why don't you increase the variety of side dishes? Raw vegetables, and French fries seem a bit lacking! Cooked vegetables? Baked potatoes? Grilled vegetables? It can be done...

11/10/2025: Finally, a place where I can eat vegan without worries in my hometown! The joy I felt looking at a menu full of vegan options is indescribable. Thank you so much! For my first time, I had the fake pulled pork sandwich and loved it. A good IPA on tap was a perfect accompaniment! A simple and welcoming place, a relaxed atmosphere, and friendly staff who are eager to talk about their work and their choices. I can't wait to return.

10/10/2025: All in all, a true 5-star experience... far from the tourist crowds... Very friendly service. The location is truly quaint. No sea, no lagoon... right in the middle of town. The pizza oven is also great. It's a wood-fired oven, and the pizza revolves around the wood.

20/10/2025: Many pseudo-restaurateurs, when given 3-star reviews, get offended and respond with pique. These overpriced mediocrities should go eat fish at Al Gallo. They'd learn what it means to have excellent (and not predictable) ingredients, cooked lightly yet deliciously. They'd understand, beyond their personal tastes (I always prefer to eat on a tablecloth, which isn't available here), how to elegantly furnish a restaurant. What kind of experience should be offered when the price is well over 50 euros (as is now the case, especially in my hometown of Bologna, even in dives). They'd realize that either places like Al Gallo should be given 6 stars in their category, or their service should be downgraded to 2. I'd improve the bread. Hats off. PS, since I've been back several times, I must add that I ate one of the best ice creams of my life. This restaurant is a real surprise.

10/05/2025: Tremendo. Potessi gli darei 0 stelle. Prezzi super gonfiati per delle pietanze che di qualità potevo ricercare al supermercato . Non sto scherzando. Un'insalata dell' Lidl buttata dentro una ciotola direttamente dalla busta: non condita, con appena un po' di frutta secca. Buoni i gamberetti, ma seriamente 5 di numero x 15 euro? Per non parlare della paella. Mai neppure vista. Appena sedute (siamo arrivate alle 19:10), ci dicono che avremmo dovuto aspettare mezz'ora. E va bene. Aspettiamo aspettiamo e aspettiamo, e alle 20:30, chiediamo della pietanza per due e ci dicono che bisogna aspettare un'altra mezz'ora/40 Min. E il locale era pure semi vuoto. Ora capisco il perché. Ci siamo alzate e siamo andate via. Mai più.

26/04/2025: Very welcoming place in the historic center of Trieste. I opted for the Valencian paella accompanied by sangria. Excellent choice of products.

06/07/2025: Very good and friendly service, delicious food, and an incredibly great atmosphere. The cozze and spaghetti con vongole are highly recommended.

25/08/2025: A disappointment. The scallops au gratin were three half-scallops, a bit of breadcrumbs on top, and no seasoning whatsoever. The ravioli, which were supposed to have shrimp sauce, were instead filled with cherry tomatoes and zucchini (if I order one thing, I don't see why something completely different should arrive). The desserts (obviously packaged) were dry. The service was questionable; four waitresses twiddling their thumbs, the dining room with only a few tables occupied, and they couldn't even bring the dishes more or less all at once. On top of that, you had to wait forever for everything, be it a piece of bread or a coffee. The bill... exorbitantly high. There were at least three people in the dining room, two brunettes and a pseudo-blonde, one of whom spoke rather broken Italian. If the desserts are homemade, I'm Santa Claus. Besides, those were the least of the problem, since they tasted good anyway. 🤣 Anyone who had a bad experience and had the courage to write about it was in the "wrong place." Luckily, you went bankrupt, or you would have had to find new answers for the reviews.

10/07/2025: Ordered at 9:20 PM on Deliveroo. At around 11 PM, I received a notification that the order had been cancelled. I called the restaurant to explain, but they didn't answer. Shame on me.

20/10/2025: Overall, it's perfectly fine. The rooms are a bit small, but nicely furnished, and everything you need is there. It's a bit surprising that you have to pay €2 for an espresso in the room. Regardless of the fact that the machine isn't easy to use and a bit dusty, I found it "too expensive." That's standard in most hotels (which are much cheaper than this one). Furthermore, it's not permitted to store your own food in the refrigerator. It's explicitly stated on the refrigerator. I've never seen that before. I find that a bit of a gimmick – there are hardly any restaurants nearby, so you can certainly put the refrigerator to good use. Overall, it's noticeable that they often put up prohibition signs. The location is special. You have a truly beautiful view of the sea, and it's very quiet. There's also direct access to the sea. It's relatively easy to walk into town or take the bus. There aren't many restaurants nearby. For us, it was a good place for a stopover. Personally, I find it a bit unsuitable for a longer stay.

02/09/2025: Good evening, I went to dinner at this restaurant with my wife, and the location, along with the kindness of the staff, made us feel at ease and enjoyed a lovely evening. Furthermore, the dishes are excellent, and the Sicilian chef's desserts live up to the description. We'll be back 👍

09/11/2025: Let me start by saying we had a wonderful meal! The food was excellent, high-quality, from the appetizers to the coffee. The atmosphere is refined, modern, and pleasant. The only downside is the service. I think (and hope!) it was an isolated incident, probably because the kitchen was understaffed... the fact is, we waited at least 20 minutes before ordering and over an hour before eating! We asked for a second bread basket to stave off hunger... it seemed like they were serving the tables in random order, not by arrival; the tables next to ours were served before us, but those people arrived at least 40 minutes after us! As for desserts (a long wait for those too!), there's no list; they're listed by the staff, but they gave different versions: according to our waitress, today there were only millefeuille, chocolate cake, and lemon sorbet left. The waitress at the next table also listed vanilla ice cream, green apple ice cream, and affogato with whatever you wanted... perhaps a list would be enough... and finally, the price was in line with other restaurants in the center of Grado. Hoping it was just an unlucky day, I highly recommend it for the excellent food.

18/10/2025: We've been coming to Grado for 20 years, including this restaurant! Unfortunately, things are going downhill pretty quickly. Yesterday, the food wasn't as good as usual! The second course was cold, but the manager doesn't care! For €120 for two people, I expect a bit more quality! Sorry! It's been much better!

10/11/2025: Last-minute dinner on Monday night. They let me sit down at 9:30 PM when other restaurants, without naming names, had turned me down as "the kitchen was already closed." A family atmosphere, delicious pizza, the stuff of the best Neapolitan pizzerias.

07/11/2025: Excellent pizza, light and easy to digest. They also make exceptional fried pizza! Nice atmosphere right in the center.

My wife's Trieste goulash was also delicious 🤤 The service was excellent, friendly, and pleasant 👍 We didn't check previous reviews and went to the trattoria with a completely open mind. We were not disappointed and would gladly return! Grazie 🇮🇹

12/10/2025: I'll start by saying that anyone can have a bad day, but ordering four identical appetizers and, after a full 45 minutes, having them arrive different from the description on the menu, and even one different from the other three, with no explanation, isn't a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the first course wasn't a success either. At the very least, it would have been appropriate to explain the problem to the customer instead of pretending nothing was happening.

29/09/2025: Nice restaurant - not outstanding. We had a good meal and a fine Friulian wine. The service was very good, but the atmosphere in the restaurant took a bit of getting used to. But everyone has different tastes 😉
