24/08/2025: Il Saceno is a quiet restaurant where eating is a delight.
It's very important that they speak Spanish, which makes ordering easier.
The food is spectacular, perfect value, excellent service and decor, the wine is beautifully served, and the bathrooms are very clean.
I highly recommend this place to Spaniards visiting Bologna, and to everyone.
21/08/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant. The food is amazing and the service great. There is an open kitchen concept which adds to the atmosphere. Would really recommend. They have the typically Bolognese dish; tagliatelle ragu, but there are lots of different really tasty options! For dessert they have a really cool take on the tiramisu, but their caprese cake is also a must! At the end of the dinner there is a home made surprise. All in all 5/5

Elegant yet informal atmosphere! Excellent hospitality and soft music. Every detail is taken care of, from the unexpected flan to the bread. The fish is always top-notch, and the special dishes and daily specials are always unexpected!
Don't expect a trattoria where they go for quantity; here, everything you pay is worth it!
The place is small, so it's normal for there to be a lot of noise if you come on a busy day with a table for 20, but that happens everywhere... book to be safe.

They were very friendly, kind, and genuinely eager to help us and make themselves understood.
The food was abundant, exceptional, and excellent. The tiramisu was simply spectacular.

Locale piccolino e delizioso.
Abbiamo mangiato una gramigna con bruciatini di cinghiale , pastrami di tacchino , baccalà mantecato, roast beef affumicato, patate alla brace , Insalata di patate e .....friggione( piatto meno buono).
Tutto servito con tanta professionalità e attenzione.
Ottima la scelta dei vini proposti dalla ragazza, sicuramente sommelier ( non le ho chiesto il nome)
Piccole cantine.
Sicuramente tornerò presto.
15/07/2025: Tuvimos el placer de comer en Affumico durante nuestra semana de vacaciones en Bolonia. Esta fue una gran experiencia! Es un pequeño restaurante que se centra en ingredientes de alta calidad, una gran preparación de alimentos y un servicio amable. Tenía costillas y mi marido pescado. Platos sencillos, pero muy bien preparados. Gran cerveza y vino también.

29/07/2025: We dined at the Terrazza for the first time, taking advantage of the outdoor veranda, which I really appreciated.
The bread is a mixed and varied selection, with alternatives. The two first courses we ordered weren't up to par: orecchiette baresi were a bit overcooked and flavorless despite the tuna, and the marinara risotto was basically risotto with scampi cream, so completely different and quite creamy.
The second courses, on the other hand, were truly excellent! We recommend the tuna and the sea bass fillet with grilled calamari! The trio of desserts and their pampering assortment of mixed biscuits to finish were also excellent. Bill: €120 for two for: 2 first courses, 2 second courses, 1 dessert, and two glasses of wine.
18/07/2025: Excellent food in an elegant and welcoming setting, with impeccable service. We were pleasantly surprised by the carasau bread lasagna!

23/08/2025: Overall, a decent experience, with a few things to look at.
The service was very slow (although the staff apologized several times, so that wasn't the main issue, but the wait was really long).
We arrived via Tripadvisor: we recommend updating the menu, because not only was it different from the online one (which can happen), but the prices on-site are also significantly higher, so we were expecting a different kind of restaurant.
No complaints about the quality of the fish: everything was excellent. Perhaps the prices could be adjusted a bit compared to the portions, but that's the restaurant's choice.

27/08/2025: I have been going to this restaurant for a long time and the food is very good and the staff is really friendly.
14/08/2025: First of all, the mussels were very good, but this award refers to part of their core business, pizza.
I had seen that they offer a pizza with whole-wheat sourdough for an additional charge. Since I bake with my own sourdough once a week, I know that whole-wheat dough can be difficult. Nevertheless, I had corresponding expectations, since they bake with sourdough professionally. Unfortunately, I was confronted with a very dense/firm and doughy crust. So either the dough needed to rise longer, or the pizzaiolo kneaded out all the airiness it had.
The taste was okay, and I wouldn't order the whole-wheat dough again, at least not the one.

01/08/2025: A very unique location, with an intimate and original atmosphere that feels like the interior of a home. Perfect for a special occasion dinner for two or just a few people, formal but not overly so, and now well-known among Bolognese people who love fine dining in "chic" places that don't just cater to lasagna and tagliatelle. Refined dishes, top-quality ingredients, everything cooked to perfection. The seafood is exquisite. Portions aren't generous, but the cozy elegance of Loretta's dining room reigns supreme, a cheap and chic style where even the glasses and chairs are mismatched, yet perfectly coordinated, creating a comfortable yet refined atmosphere. The prices are fair for the location, with a €4 cover charge, which is also what you pay for. I've spent more and eaten worse at more renowned restaurants, so the price is harsh but fair!
Congratulations for the originality and, of course, the skill in the kitchen.

29/08/2025: Very kind and helpful staff. All the dishes were gluten-free and delicious. We specifically had the spinach ravioli, pasta Bolognese, and ravioli alla Norma (vegetarian). Everything was delicious. Not to mention the desserts; we had zuppa inglese and a chocolate dessert, delicious! I absolutely recommend it! A paradise for celiacs!

04/09/2025: The place has fallen into incredible decline over the years. The food used to be very good, excellent, and the location beautiful. The dishes were well-prepared, balanced, and tasty.
Today, all that remains of that memory is the wonderful location, while the menu has gone downhill incredibly: I had pasta with shrimp, pistachio, and basil. It was completely raw, inedible, and very hard. Truly sickening. As I write this review, I'm still drinking a herbal tea to digest it. When the waiter came to ask if everything was okay, I pointed out that the pasta was too undercooked, but he didn't even offer to remake it. He just apologized. Surprise: they even charged me for it, even though I hadn't eaten it (and no one at the counter asked if we'd eaten well). The fish risottos weren't bad, but nothing special. Perhaps those are the only good things. The desserts were sad, disappointing. The bill was very high, the coffee was dull.
The decline in quality compared to a couple of years ago is evident. It wasn't even a coincidence: I'd been here for dinner a month ago, and we were all very disappointed, although, back then, there weren't any mistakes (or horrors) like the ones we had tonight.
Da Franco is now just a nice place, with a lovely outdoor area and elegant waiters. As for the rest, it's all gone. What a shame! I don't recommend it, as of today.
10/08/2025: Dinner in the garden was a great experience. The relaxed atmosphere was truly unique, and the dishes were delicious and meticulously prepared (some were plated better than others). I highly recommend both desserts in the photos, as well as the rigatoni neri, tuna roast beef, and tagliata!!! And the croissant with mortadella mousse, wow, almost Michelin-starred!
The waiters are friendly and helpful, giving you your time for a relaxing, unhurried experience.
The price is medium-high, but for the location and food/quality, it's reasonable.
We had everything from appetizer to dessert and spent €158 total, including drinks.
ONE NOTE: In such a beautiful garden, you should put a smoking ban. Those who want to relax, and especially those who want to focus on the flavors of the dishes, are disturbed if someone smokes at the next table. Electronic cigarettes are fine, but I would put a smoking ban both out of "respect" for the garden and for the experience of others.

I'm writing this review a bit late and hope no one else has had the same experience.
The food was quite heavy. The most disturbing detail was finding a worm in my pasta dish, which I only discovered towards the end of the meal. The appetizers were poorly prepared. The tiramisu was bland, and I couldn't end the evening on a sweet note.
If you're looking for extra protein, here's the "pasta ai vermi." Would I recommend it? Absolutely not.

A Pearl of the Sea in the Heart of Bologna
I had the opportunity to dine at the "Il Pirata del Porto" restaurant in Bologna, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service courteous, making my stay immediately enjoyable.
For my lunch, I opted for a classic, spaghetti allo scoglio, accompanied by water and coffee, for a final bill of €22.50. The portion was generous, and above all, the sauce was remarkable: a truly rich, flavorful seafood dish that fully met my expectations. Octopus, mussels, clams, shrimp, and even lobster blended together in a well-balanced sauce, making every bite a true pleasure.
If I really had to find a small criticism, it was the pasta itself. While not bad, I found it slightly overcooked, lacking the perfect al dente consistency that best enhances a dish of this type. This is a minor sin, but it detracted from the overall experience.
Overall, "Il Pirata del Porto" remains an excellent choice for those looking to enjoy quality seafood in Bologna. With a little improvement in the cooking of the pasta, the dish would have been truly perfect.
