Good place, a well-deserved 4 stars. Excellent food. It's a shame the lighting is too dim. However, I would mention the service: a bit too informal and not up to par with the restaurant's reputation. It's clear they're well-prepared, but the overall result needs improvement, especially in terms of customer service, timing, attitude, and attention. See you soon!

Osteria Satyricon is one of those places that warms your heart as soon as you step inside. It's not just a restaurant, it's a slice of authentic Bologna, where the hospitality is a given and quality is uncompromising. The first courses are simply sublime. Tortellini in broth taste like home, and tagliatelle with ragù are expertly prepared. The selection of second courses and side dishes is also excellent, with generous portions and the freshest ingredients. The atmosphere is rustic, informal, and lively. It's the ideal place for an evening with friends or a relaxed dinner where you'll immediately feel at ease, surrounded by an atmosphere brimming with history and personality. The quality-price ratio is fair. Finding such refined cuisine at such reasonable prices in the city is not a given. If you want to experience a true Bolognese osteria, off the beaten track and with an authentic soul, Satyricon is the place to be. Highly recommended!

A little gem discovered by chance. The service is friendly and professional, the dishes are delicious and maintain a familiar feel, and the atmosphere is welcoming and full of conversation. I really appreciated the attentive service and willingness to accommodate specific dietary needs. I highly recommend making a reservation.

Wonderful experience. Despite a problem with our reservation, the staff handled it perfectly, making us feel at ease. Delicious food, but above all, a wonderful atmosphere. Kudos to the team, who truly know their stuff.

Amazing. Every single item that arrived at the table wasn't good, not very good, not amazing. Amazing. Special. There are two of us, and we each had a first course, a second course, and a dessert. Plus a bottle of wine. I'll calm down now, otherwise it might sound like a comment from a friend of the staff, but actually, one reason I chose the word amazing is that I live five minutes away from this place and for some reason I hadn't heard of it yet. It would have been nice to attach a nice photo of the duck breast and the cheese selection. I didn't have time, but at least you can see how beautiful the table is. I don't leave many reviews, but when I do, I do.

29/04/2026: The place where we initially wanted to eat was full. There are so many eateries in the center of Bologna that we went for a walk and read the reviews for every single one. This one had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. There was a spot available, but in an odd seating area with a small set of steps in a corner. The benches were uncomfortable. They could have placed cushions there, but it was also situated separately, above the rest of the place. Nevertheless, we gave it a try. The service was very helpful and friendly. They also spoke English. There was spontaneous live piano music, played by one of the guests, I think. We had, among other things: focaccina barese, babaganoush, lasagna (vegetarian), and pollo al curry. The vegetarian lasagna was disappointing: it contained so much chicory that it tasted very bitter. As far as I'm concerned, they can remove that dish from the menu. The chicken curry, on the other hand, was fine. The prices were reasonable. The restaurant is located in a neighborhood with a lot of graffiti, which actually created a nice atmosphere. You could also sit outside. All in all, a nice, informal place with a good vibe.

17/01/2026: If, like me, you're only in Bologna for one night, come to dinner at Vecchia Bottega and fill up on delicious food, excellent wine, and lovely people! Not knowing what to choose, I ventured a request, which was greeted with a smile. I came for the tagliatelle, and then I ordered a platter, two first courses, and dessert. Everything was excellent, like home-made, but even better because the atmosphere is relaxed and cheerful. Even though I was alone, I felt like I was part of the whole place. The tiramisu is special. My week of Italian vacation ends beautifully and sweetly!
17/01/2026: Excellent food, a wide selection of excellent wines. Courteous, relaxed, welcoming, professional, and highly competent staff.
