16/05/2026: Starve before you eat here. If I could give this zero stars I would. Avoid. Tourist trap. Should have known better coming from NYC, but we were hungry and everything was closed. The waiter, knowing I only spoke a little Italian, somehow got me to agree to some nasty, fishy-smelling mussels and octopus, clearly knowing I didn't understand what I was agreeing to. The pizza was gross. They use canned mushrooms. And they talked about us in front of our face, which they made sure we could understand. I don't understand why people take advantage of tourists but I guess it happens so I'm warning you in advance -- avoid like the plague.

09/11/2025: Ok so… I don’t know how they can afford the location with the lack of quality or charisma. The real estate is 10/10. Gorgeous. The food? Terrible. The service? It’s like they were even surprised we sat down. The prosciutto was dry and gross. The cheese was the driest mozzarella I’ve ever seen. The staff was unbothered. My Aperol spritz was ok though.

21/12/2025: Terrible experience. The location is run-down, the atmosphere is gloomy, and the cleanliness is extremely poor: from the bathrooms to the table service. There was a visible layer of dust under the placemats, a sign of total neglect. The decor is dated and outdated, lacking any charm. The food was disappointing: the dishes were excessively greasy and of poor quality. The bill also seemed unjustified for the quality, with prices significantly overpriced. Chaos and disorder reigned supreme. I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant; there are many others that are truly worth it.

14/06/2026: A truly elegant gastronomic experience. The "Le Origini" experience was a refined sensory journey, surprising with authentic and perfectly balanced flavors. I appreciated the attentive service the staff (especially the restaurant manager, Giusy, and Biagio) gave us, the guests, the meticulous attention to detail, and the intimate and relaxing atmosphere that pervaded the entire experience. A distinctive cuisine, delicate and full of personality. All this in one of the most beautiful places in the world: Punta Tragara on Capri.

07/06/2026: This is my third visit to this restaurant, and I confirm my previous impressions. Chef Antonio Pedana's cuisine is evolving toward commendable refinement: the flavors of Campania's tradition are transformed into delicate dishes, without losing their essence. The bread and desserts improve year after year. The service is attentive and meticulous, respectful of diners' time and discreet. The restaurant's location is unparalleled in the world (the view of the Faraglioni), so it's already a privilege to be able to admire such beauty.

Mediocre tasting house appetizers, 4 inedible first courses that were worth throwing away, but the most disgusting thing was seeing the owners smoking in the dining room as if there was no tomorrow, in the presence of children and pregnant people, a nightmare!!! We will never go back!!! Extremely high prices: 4 mixed appetizers, 4 disgusting first courses, a bottle of wine, a coke on tap, 4 waters €340!!! Everything was a nightmare!!!!!!

02/02/2026: RUINED SUNDAY We had booked this restaurant for a family Sunday to celebrate my daughter's graduation, having just returned from Milan. Having fond memories of the place, I called ahead to specifically ask if they catered to celiac disease and lactose intolerance. The answer was clear: "Yes, no problem." Once we arrived, however, the situation was the opposite. When ordering, we mentioned the intolerances and were arrogantly told: "You can sort it out yourself, just avoid what you see on your plate." When we asked for specific ingredients (since butter and dairy products aren't always visible), we received rude and superficial replies, demonstrating complete ignorance on the subject. Result: my daughter was only able to eat an octopus salad. Added to this was the truly sloppy service: a bottle of wine ordered from the menu wasn't available, the alternative was poured directly into glasses without tasting, and one of the glasses even contained water, which the wine was carelessly poured into. Meanwhile, other diners were served appetizers of questionable quality, while my daughter received none. When we asked for gluten-free bread, we were told they "never bought it." At that point, we asked for the bill (€130) and left. The problem isn't the price, but the unacceptable way they treat customers, especially when it comes to allergies and intolerances. We had called ahead precisely to avoid this, but the restaurant demonstrated utter superficiality and disrespect. I almost never write negative reviews, but I do so to spare others this terrible experience. Ignorance, incompetence, and arrogance ruined our Sunday. Absolutely avoid.

The only real positive is the location: it's undoubtedly beautiful, with a splendid view of the sea that creates a pleasant atmosphere. I also appreciate the fact that they cater to gluten-free options: they had both pasta and bread available, and they were attentive to this. Otherwise, however, the experience was very disappointing. We waited three hours for our first course, a simply unacceptable amount of time, especially without clear explanations or adequate apologies. During the wait, the service was virtually nonexistent: we didn't feel welcomed or cared for. The staff was clearly insufficient, both in number and in managing the room, and they also had a lackluster approach to the customer. The lack of organization was evident even in the most basic aspects: when we were welcomed, we weren't even served water, and we had to ask several times just to get it. Generally, we had to repeatedly call the staff for any need. We requested the "Lucullo" appetizer, but they mixed it up and brought it to us as if we'd ordered the tasting menu, which we hadn't. This mistake demonstrates a lack of attention and poor internal communication. Furthermore, the first courses weren't served all at once: we ate in staggered intervals, with some people at the table already finished while others were still waiting. It was an unpleasant and unprofessional situation. Many people around us were complaining about the incredibly long wait; several customers even got up and left before receiving their dishes, tired of waiting. As for the food, it wasn't poor quality, but it wasn't particularly exciting either. Given the interminable wait and the general disorganization, it's definitely not worth it. A lunch that should have been a pleasant experience turned into a stressful experience. I'm sorry to say this, but I can't recommend this restaurant at this time: the beautiful sea view alone isn't enough to make up for such poor service and inefficient organization.

22/02/2026: Stunning location: face to face with the sea! The quality of the ingredients is questionable, and the dishes are overly improvised. It's impossible to accommodate guests with food intolerances or even just different tastes. Dishes are not changed! Even though we were told otherwise when booking. Completing the review is the lack of coordination between the dining room and kitchen staff, and a lot of overcharging... Totally unacceptable wait times.

17/05/2026: Wonderful family meal to celebrate an incredible week in Sorrento. The staff were fantastic, the food was delicious & the atmosphere was just perfect. Highly recommend!

30/05/2026: Rude waiters who pretended not to hear, endless wait despite the room being empty, the waitress served the meat and brought the tray so close to my face that oil splashed in my eyes and on top of that, at the end they "rounded up" everyone's share to make the calculations easier, terrible experience, I will never go back.

30/05/2026: They inflated the prices on the receipt by charging us 40 euros more. Unfortunately, we realized it too late; they must have taken advantage of this, seeing that we're not locals. Furthermore, a pizza chef squashed a cockroach in front of me with a sharp kick and then kicked it out.

09/09/2025: The pasta vongole was excellent, the calamari was fine, but we missed a sauce. The ravioli was tasty but not a very large portion. The server was incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English. All in all, a delicious and pleasant dining experience.

19/08/2025: The restaurant takes the legacy of the old Marenostrum and reimagines it with more contemporary touches, both in the food plating and the table setting. The food is very good, the prices are a bit above average due to the attention to detail and the particularly romantic location, but the portions are significantly smaller than its predecessor. But everything remains very good. The service is certainly medium-high. Parking is available.
