We were four of us at this restaurant on July 11, 2025. The welcome was typically touristy, but the restaurant actually offered impeccable service, good food, and excellent value.
It's a shame about the portions, which were really small.

04/10/2025: We had already eaten at this restaurant three years ago and loved it. We went back today and it's still the same. Top notch from start to finish! Beautiful ambiance both inside and out, very friendly staff, and the dishes coming out of the kitchen are perfect! And the prices for this delicious food are very fair! Highly recommended.

07/10/2025: I went with my wife and son in September for dinner in the ancient cave. The seafood appetizer smelled bad and tasted nothing like seafood. The octopus was transparent and smelled bad—you couldn't tell it was octopus carpaccio; it was literally transparent, like tissue paper. The rest was anything but anything that reminded you of the sea. Everything was frozen and poorly treated.
Parmigiana was the sore point!! It wasn't parmigiana, but a mixture of boiled eggs drowned in tomato sauce.
I don't think they even know what eggplant parmigiana is; there were only boiled eggs.
I wouldn't go back even if they paid me; it was a TERRIBLE experience that's hard to undo. They have no idea what Italian or Calabrian cuisine is. What a shame! These people were improvised and had never worked in a kitchen!

A very welcoming and tastefully decorated location, with background music that complements the restaurant, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Giuseppe is very attentive and knowledgeable, even suggesting wines to match your meal.
Truly delicious dishes, well-composed, and made with quality ingredients.
A tip for anyone going to lunch or dinner at La Pergola: you can't leave without dessert. The deconstructed cannoli is sublime.

22/10/2025: I liked it so much that I went there two nights in a row. I tried both the meat and fish menus and everything was excellent. Perfect even for us celiacs. The prices were all average too. If I'm in the area again, I'll go there again.

20/10/2025: We dined with The Fork in a wonderful outdoor location in August, but we weren't able to review it directly on the The Fork app. The staff was incredibly friendly, and we really enjoyed chatting with the owner, who was eager to get to know us and tell us that he's moved from the north to charming Tropea.
We ate well and also enjoyed the huge portions of local onions.
20/10/2025: From waiter to customer, I finished my working season and after 7 months I spent an evening as a customer and for good reason I praised the dishes, giving them some good and some bad reviews, but I tried them myself and they are amazing. Not to mention the staff, my colleagues and friends, creating a harmonious atmosphere thanks to the owners Roby and Gaia, who are wonderful people who have managed to be friends and employers at the right time and in the right way.

This osteria is truly a little gem, tucked away in a quiet side street in the old town. Anyone looking to spend a relaxing evening with good food in Tropea should definitely stop by here.

I was fortunate enough to discover this Italian restaurant during my visit to Tropea this summer.
From the very first moment, the atmosphere envelops you: warm, welcoming, and full of the typical charm of southern Italy. The outdoor tables overlooking the picturesque streets make every meal feel special, whether day or night.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and very professional, always smiling. You can tell they enjoy what they do and want every customer to have an unforgettable experience.
Every dish we tried was perfectly prepared, with fresh and authentic ingredients. The pizzas, in particular, deserve a special mention: light and crispy dough, sauce with the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, and topping combinations that respect Italian tradition while still surprising.
We also tried pastas and appetizers, and everything was of an extremely high standard.
If you're in Tropea and looking for a place to eat really well, enjoy a charming atmosphere, and feel welcomed from the moment you walk in until you leave, you can't miss this restaurant.
