20/10/2025: During a pleasant day in Molise, on our way to the nearby wellness center, we decided to stop for a quick lunch at the Donna Carmela restaurant, recommended by an acquaintance. The restaurant is located in a quaint alley in the village of Guasto, shrouded in ivy and autumnal colors that create a truly evocative atmosphere. Inside, the atmosphere is simple, welcoming, and meticulously detailed. The menus are beautifully presented, with a wooden cover and a daily menu written on a blackboard, illustrated by the lady in charge. We chose two first courses: pumpkin gnocchi with butter, rosemary, chestnuts, and Parmesan cheese, very pleasant and well-balanced, and a forest soup with porcini mushrooms, mushrooms, potatoes, pancetta, chestnuts, and truffle. Unfortunately, the truffle wasn't fresh, but in a sauce, which somewhat detracted from the otherwise rich and flavorful dish. We couldn't help but try the Caciocavallo di Roccamandolfi 2.0 with egg and black truffle from Molise, an iconic dish of the area. The flavor was also good and well-balanced, but using fresh truffle—especially during this time of year—would certainly have made a difference. Overall, a good dining experience, with rich and flavorful dishes, courteous service, and a reasonable price. A pleasant stop in a little corner of Molise worth discovering.

20/10/2025: My partner and I had dinner at Donna Carmela and overall we had a great time. We had an appetizer for two with typical products—cured meats, cheeses, frittata, and ricotta—all very good and beautifully presented. For our first course, I chose the pappardelle with wild boar and porcini mushrooms, while my partner ordered a veal cutlet with wine. The quality of the dishes was good, and they were enjoyable to eat; my only complaint: there wasn't a single porcini mushroom in sight; they must have been left in the woods 😂😅. The veal cutlet, however, was truly excellent. We also had a dessert, which was decent, and the bill was more than fair for what we ate. The only downside: the owner was a bit aloof, while the hostess was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a good restaurant, with authentic cuisine and fair prices.

10/02/2026: It's true that the atmosphere is nice, but if I go somewhere to eat and drink well, it's not that great. The prices are very high compared to similar places. The house wine tasted like vinegar, and we had to send it back. The cover charge was three euros... unique. The first courses were twelve euros... ditto. I don't understand those who rave about it so much. Obviously, either they're "friends," or they've never eaten well in their lives.

14/01/2026: It was our first time at Lu Carratino and it was simply amazing. We went on New Year 2026 for lunch.. what an experience! Delicious! We had fish… hot and cold dishes. Food is just great! It’s a must if you’re around Campobasso area. Look at the pics.. highly recommend.

10/11/2025: Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food or the location...but on the service, or rather the manners, the welcome, yes... Terrible! Reservation made a few days ago, after checking on the info page and asking if it was possible to bring a small dog with us...we were told yes, on the page it says yes, but we checked with the restaurant and obviously we did. Anyway, we arrive at the place at 1.15pm, 6 of us + our dog Toy....." Posted on the entrance door, we find the prohibition of dogs entering........ We enter as 2 and ask about the situation.... a waiter calls us "the Manager" who with an almost disgusted look and air, tells us immediately that dogs are not allowed to enter..... then later even asks us if we had booked, I answer yes! She checks and tells us, I understand but the dog is not allowed to enter..... I try to explain, but she moves away and dismisses us like that........ speechless, we go out and tell the others........ It's 1.17pm, there are 6 of us, we come from Vasto..... what do we do, where are we going? ....... Luckily, not all bad things come to harm...... a light bulb goes on in me and we call a very good location nearby........ Very satisfied in every way ...... obviously we'll be back and we'll recommend it to everyone ...... Your place? Croce ...... a piece of advice ...... update the page ...... write that dogs are not allowed ...... you could have problems ....... we resolved the issue and didn't want to argue but if we wanted we could have had the right people check it ....... So ......... Kindness, good words and humility sometimes make the difference ....... Too bad! THE OWNER'S RESPONSE: LIES HAVE SHORT LEGS! WHAT IS HE SAYING!??? I BOOKED AND HAVE THE CALL RECORDED OF COURSE, AND ON GOOGLE IT SAYS THAT DOGS ARE ALLOWED ...... I HAVE THE SCREENSHOTS. THEN WAS SHE NEXT TO HIS WIFE? THERE WAS A WAITER ....... I WAS SHOCKED WHY, PRECISELY, THEY ASKED ME IF I HAD EVEN MADE A RESERVATION!!!! I DON'T SEE WHERE THE LIE IS ON MY PART. YOU HAVE SO MANY POSITIVE REVIEWS.....I REPEAT, I COULD NOT GIVE AN OPINION ABOUT THE FOOD, ETC., BUT AS FOR THE HOSPITALITY.....IT CAN ALWAYS BE IMPROVED! GOOD WORK!

08/03/2026: Truly a surprising place! You'd probably imagine finding such cuisine and high-quality seafood more along the coast. Yet, in the heart of Molise's hinterland, Mr. Peppe, with his humility and immense culinary artistry, delights us with unique and authentic dishes. Taste, quality, flavors, presentation, and a very welcoming location make this place a must-see in the heart of Isernia. 10 out of 10! I can't wait to return.

18/01/2026: The choice of restaurants in a village is excellent. The location and hospitality are remarkable. The "brodetto" (Spanish mussels, and a tasteless, poorly prepared broth) was very poor, the reason and request for our visit. The coming and going of waiters with wines, drinks, cakes, coats, etc. needs to be reviewed. Cian's history is not up for discussion, but the individual experience is.

17/03/2026: I must say that this pizzeria delivers on its promises. It's a very family-friendly, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere. As for the food, I think I've rarely had such a good Roman pizza. The ingredients are excellent. The other menu items are also very popular. The prices are truly reasonable, while maintaining a high quality.

03/03/2026: A terrible experience; you have to be a real mountain goat to get to the place! Absolutely no parking for people with disabilities; there are insurmountable architectural barriers, even inside the place. Rude, with a touch of irony, for parking that is nonexistent in the area, especially for people with disabilities. The icing on the cake: exorbitant prices. ABSOLUTELY avoid! The manager's response follows: Dear Manager, Responding to inconclusive and unsubstantiated excuses is a waste of time, but I'll try anyway, just in case: Parking in the area is practically impossible, especially for people with disabilities; there is only one reserved parking lot, which is constantly occupied. You failed to mention that the loading/unloading parking lot near your place is closed from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Can you tell me what businesses, other than yours, operate during those hours? Should I assume this ban is for personal use, given that there are no businesses near the reserved loading and unloading area? Yes, the review was written before dinner, and I didn't comment on the quality of the food (and there would be good reason to do so). I simply expressed my opinion on the excessive prices charged. Therefore, the only thing that remains is that such attitudes are expressed by those who demonstrate a lack of culture. Please do your best to make your establishment accessible to the disabled. 23/02/2026: 5 out of 5 stars might be enough to describe it all, but this place deserves a deeper dive. I went for dinner with my celiac girlfriend, hoping to eat decently gluten-free, which isn't a given in Molise. To say we were satisfied would be an understatement. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive to every need. The dishes were simply exquisite. Cleanliness and order reign supreme. The only downside is that it's not close enough to home to be able to return at least once a week. You're not just eating pizza, you're experiencing a culinary journey. Highly recommended.

21/12/2025: A very cozy beach restaurant with a small terrace and a beautiful view of the sea. My mixed fish platter was absolutely perfect and offered excellent value for money! The service is efficient and attentive – superb! :-) Ideal for combining with a short walk along the beach from Termoli. There's also plenty of parking right outside.

21/01/2026: I went to La Vecchia Taverna in Macchia di Isernia and I have to say it was a fantastic experience! The place is welcoming and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff is incredibly kind, always helpful and smiling, making you feel immediately at ease. The pizza is truly delicious, with fresh and flavorful ingredients, but the real highlight is the desserts: absolutely worth trying, each one better than the last! Another great advantage is the large parking lot, which is very convenient if you're driving. Overall, everything was perfect: food, service, and convenience. I'll definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a wonderful evening eating excellent pizza without any worries.

13/01/2026: Excellent food, shame about the parking which is a bit messy (otherwise more cars would fit) but also nice on Friday with the dancing evening, excellent barman, great cocktails but even in this circumstance it's a shame about some walls which if they were removed there would be more space to dance but overall I recommend it

25/01/2026: The finest expression of the kindness and professionalism that characterizes this restaurant in this small Molise village. The various courses we sampled are characterized by a unique and harmonious flavor. The lobster-based first course was delicious and plentiful, with the lobster as the star. Both the swordfish and pork main course were impeccably presented and flavorful. You are pampered from start to finish with dessert. Last but not least: the welcoming and warm setting, built in brick and stone, contrasting with a golden-black color that doesn't clash. It's a shame there are fewer and fewer restaurants like this. The price is in line with the quality of the ingredients.

21/09/2025: 2025, two years have passed, and we returned to spend an evening at this restaurant. Nothing has changed except the menu (thankfully) :). Welcomed by the owner, who was very friendly, as was his wife, we chose the "seafood" menu. Once again, an exquisite meal from start to finish. Nothing to complain about except perhaps the enormous quantities in each dish, even though we were on a gourmet menu (6 courses). Congratulations to Chef Cuoco, who creates these dishes. One conclusion: quickly discover this Italian gastronomic destination that combines quality and friendliness, all at an unbeatable price. 2023: What a wonderful experience to have in a small village in Molise. An extraordinary setting, and top-notch cuisine: originality, quality, diversity... 5-star service provided by a smiling and competent staff. Not to mention the owner and his wife, who take great care of their customers. In short, a restaurant that more than deserves the praise of the Gambero Rosso guide. And what about the price? How can you serve this quality at this price? Extraordinary
