This family-run restaurant has been around for decades and continues to uphold the same incredibly high standards of quality and care that date back to when the owner’s mother used to cook in the kitchen. When you imagine a true Italian trattoria—where everything is handmade, from the prosciutto and pasta to the sauces and desserts—this is exactly what comes to mind. There’s no cutting corners here. Every bite reflects a legacy of passion and tradition that’s increasingly rare to find. This restaurant also holds a deeply personal meaning for our family. My Nono used to walk over an hour from his house just to eat here, swearing they made the best tripe he’d ever had. This summer, we returned to Torrice for a family reunion and decided to honour his memory by making a reservation for 13 of us—grandparents, siblings, and grandkids included. It turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of our entire trip. The food was off-the-charts spectacular. From the handmade pasta to the generous antipasti, everything was bursting with flavour and clearly made with care. The wine flowed, the service was warm and attentive, and the desserts capped things off perfectly. We ordered so much food and loved it so much that we ended up staying far longer than planned—just so we could enjoy every last bite. The tripe was, of course, a standout. My parents both ordered it in tribute to Nono, and after just one taste, they completely understood why he used to walk so far to get it. They were so impressed, they each ordered seconds—not because they were still hungry, but because it was simply too good to pass up. Trattoria da Sestilio isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a living piece of culinary history, full of warmth, tradition, and soul. Whether you have roots in the area or are just passing through, this is one of those special places that leaves a lasting impression. We can’t wait to return.

20/07/2025: I went today with friends, and we had a great time! The place is a traditional trattoria, with fresh handmade pasta. The Sunday cannelloni were delicious! The sour cherry tart was out of this world. They offer—and be warned, offer—bruschetta as an appetizer and sweet treats at the end. The owner welcomed us into his home (literally, back in the day, it's a great story, ask him!), and the staff were kind and friendly, and the service was fast. The price was fair and reasonable (generous portions!) I had a starter, a main course, red and white wine, dessert, coffee, liqueur, water, and cover charge—all for €30. In Rome, I would have paid €50 and eaten less. We'll gladly return!

27/08/2025: The place is small, so reservations are recommended. The dishes are very good. We had an appetizer (fried calamari and anchovies), which was delicious, two first courses, also very good and plentiful, a portion of berry cheesecake (huge and delicious), some biscuits, and two coffees. The staff is very kind and the service is fast. The bill, especially considering the quality of the fish, was excellent. Highly recommended.

We especially recommend the buffalo mozzarella fondue with porcini mushrooms, tomato meatballs, and zazzere with mushrooms and guanciale (flavorful, savory). Tiramen' cima all'amaretto: a less-than-exceptional take on tiramisu. Good value. Located in the historic center. Not easily accessible for those with limited mobility, due to the stairs without handrails and the steepness, being in the historic center of Fiuggi. Professional, fast service. €30 per person with excellent local Cesanese wine.

05/07/2025: We had dinner at this wonderful restaurant last night. An evening with friends made exceptional by the service, the friendliness of the owner and the excellent quality of the products! Value for money 10 out of 10!!! We will return because you deserve it!

15/05/2025: Quiet, intimate, well-run place. I really liked this tavern in the village of Casalvieri in many ways. I give 10 cum laude to the appetizer I had called Vignarola: a mix of artichoke wedges, asparagus and courgettes, I think browned in a pan, with the addition of mint leaves for a taste and aroma that is now unusual to find, unless the meal is prepared in our homes. Followed by roast chicken with potatoes made as at home and a side of cooked wild vegetables. All very good and well cooked.

15/08/2025: Finding this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Intrigued by the charming atmosphere of the village of Monte San Giovanni Campano, we decided to stop for dinner. We were immediately greeted by the extremely professional staff, who explained the delicious menu to us. We ate deliciously and spent a wonderful evening in an enchanting place. We stumbled upon it by chance, and we'll definitely be back!

Ho preso ' C'era una volta' sono tornata indietro nel tempo, alle domeniche a casa di mia nonna. Per non parlare dei dolci, con un tocco internazionale! Cortesia e prelibatezza. 19/07/2025: Nous somme allés en couple dans ce restaurant de montagne car il étais bien éclairé, une grande terrasse et non loin de notre location Trois hommes impeccablement habillés de noir nous ont accueillis respectueusement et malgré notre italien désastreux, ils ce sont occupés de nous avec empressement et rapidité, tous les 3 on fait des efforts pour nous comprendre et nous expliquer tous les plats, merci à eux. Cannelloni succulents, pâtes au champignons locaux délicieuses Nous avons pris un secondi, deux plats c'était trop, j'ai pris un gâteau maison frais et léger, un régal Allez-y les yeux fermés nous vous le conseillons et pourtant étant cuisinier je suis très pointilleux

28/08/2025: A delightful summer evening with friends. We dined in the outdoor courtyard: lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. The wait was reasonable considering the long line at the entrance (a true sign of quality in this case)! The Roman-style thin-crust pizza was delicious, but the highlight, for those with a real appetite, was undoubtedly the stuffed calzones! From the fragrant dough to the super-tasty filling... We tried the famous "UFO"... Simply out of this world!!!

23/08/2025: THE BEST 😍 We've been in Italy for almost 2 weeks now, and ate out every day for 2-3 meals a day and this was by far the best experience. The kindest, happiest and most thoughtful people and the food was so delicious!! I'll come back to Atina just to visit this reaturant again.
