28/02/2026: Appalling service. I witnessed an absurd scene: the woman, whom I believe to be the owner, told some customers to get lost because they were paying the bill with two-euro coins, and she even threw the receipt at them. I've never seen anything like it.

25/02/2026: When you're completely exhausted... you stumble upon this restaurant full of locals, not tourists. The food is delicious. If I had to find a fault, the lasagna portion is small for the price. But everything else is fantastic!

25/02/2026: I happened upon La Pilotta when I made my first trip to Rome in 2010. It was an experience to remember, not just for the fantastic food but for the charming and joyful experience overall. We returned in 2018 with our family for an amazing Easter meal. Our most recent visit was February 2026. We arrived toward the end of the lunch rush when the place had just a few customers and the owner, Mario, was working at a calculator in the middle of the dining room. We ended up in conversation with him before a delicious meal — pasta all'amatriciana for me and pasta alla carbonara for my husband (when in Rome...). Before leaving, I happened to notice that hanging on the wall was the Rome travel piece I'd written for our upstate New York daily newspaper, the Times Union, in 2010. How it found its way to La Pilotta I'll never know, but I was overcome with joy and had to pose with Mario. This is a great spot, just outside the Vatican walls, great food, including delicious homemade pastas, comfy vibe, good prices. Stop by, and tell Mario I said hello.

10/03/2026: A fantastic find! The terrace was lovely and sunny, the owner explained their specialties (potatoes) to us, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Plus, it was very affordable.

20/03/2026: I reserved a table for my graduation party, they are thieves, be really careful, I gave the waitress cash and asked for a receipt and when she came she said there was a mistake and in the envelope the cashier had put the money she only gave me back 40 euros out of the 45 euros and i saw it was 45euro in envelope and she trow a receipt quickly!, many times i counted and reach they wrong !girl kept trying to convince me that it was right and then I went to the cashier and told her the story and she said she gave the waitress back 45 euros! And she asked her to give me the rest of my money! And then the girl came and threw the money away angrily and said it was like a tip! I should give the tip, not that if I wasn't careful you would steal my money!! Be careful!!!! Rud behavior!! And I booked the table because it was added to my guests I asked them to add a table for us but they didn't do it and with rud and very bad behavior she changed our place to a super cold place and ruined my party and the manager there was extremely rude!!!! I don't recommend it at all

18/03/2026: Very spacious and welcoming place, full of young people. I ate there on Wednesday evening, with an ever-changing buffet for €16, including a drink! Congratulations, we'll be back on Friday.

28/02/2026: We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of an acquaintance, but unfortunately the experience didn't live up to our expectations. We started with fried food, which turned out to be of poor quality: the zucchini flowers were so soaked in oil that they were heavy and unpleasant, so much so that we couldn't finish them. The first courses were average, but nothing special: very simple flavors, easily replicated at home. For dessert, I had a tart with cream and strawberries, unfortunately completely bland and tasteless. All this was accompanied by a "Riflessi" white wine, worth about €7, but sold for €19. Overall, a disappointing experience that I wouldn't recommend.

06/12/2025: The gyria and carbonara were terrible, with tough pasta that wasn't even close to al dente. It was a disgrace. The seafood salad was very good, despite the suspicious taste of the mussels. The live music was good. The waitress spoke very little English and ultimately refused to split the bill.

30/11/2025: I stumbled upon it by chance and it was a pleasant surprise. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.

20/03/2026: I've eaten at this pizzeria and restaurant several times and have always had a great experience. The pizza is very good, with a special leavening method that makes it easy to digest. You can choose between thin or slightly thicker Neapolitan-style pizzas with different dough types. The first courses, such as amatriciana, cacio e pepe, and carbonara, are also excellent. The service is fast and the staff are very polite. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

14/02/2026: Definitely overpriced, two people for a total of €180, not including raw fish. The food was average, but unfortunately the quality/price ratio was decidedly too low. The service was fast, too fast, not even enough time to finish the dish... The waiters were kind but inexperienced.

18/01/2026: Evening with friends... I've already been there 3 or 4 times in the past and haven't been for a while... the prices have gone up significantly... how can you charge 20 euros for spaghetti with clams???? Then let's talk about the spaghetti... not even 100g of tasteless pasta with no core, lots of oil and above all clams??? Which didn't taste like clams... with 20 euros you expect real clams, the nice big ones, not the ones like lupini... it seemed like a canteen... I mean, 3 spaghetti 60 euros... to eat like that... absolutely no, never again!!!

04/11/2025: An oasis of elegance by the sea. We had lunch there on Sunday and the experience was overall excellent. The establishment is very elegant and refined. The service was attentive, professional, and friendly. The food, overall, was perfect. The quality of the fish is undeniable: fresh and well-cooked. The sea bass croquettes with lime were beautiful, but the sea bass was missing. The final price was a bit high, but considering the location, it's reasonable. Highly recommended for an elegant day out and an off-season seafood lunch.
