24/08/2025: We arrived with solid and usual expectations, but found the service to be very superficial and inattentive.
The menu was unclear from a seasonal perspective, and pizzas with non-seasonal ingredients were verbally informed upon request that the product, which was rightfully out of season, was out of stock. Perhaps I would add asterisks to reflect seasonality.
Two of the four pizzas had been modified due to a change from one vegetable to another without any additions to the pizza. However, when it came to the bill, the wording "additional ingredients" was added, and we found ourselves charged a surcharge even though we hadn't added anything to the pizza. In fact, the waitress herself insisted on having the ingredients SUBSTITUTED.
When the pizzas arrived, one out of three was incorrect. Ingredients were missing from the pizza's complete composition, and they hadn't even made the pizza and then actually chosen it. However, we obviously paid for everything as if it had been a success!
What a shame!

30/07/2025: ottimo ristorante scoperto per caso: pesce freschissimo e ben cucinato. le sardine fritte erano squisite! come tutti i piatti che abbiamo gustato (cannolicchi, tortelli ripieni di crostacei super, mezzemaniche al tonno e seppie grigliate) ; anche il vino bianco sfuso era di ottima qualità! gentilissimo il padrone di casa e lo staff. torneremo sicuramente a cenare da voi quando torniamo nella bella FVG.

15/08/2025: Good dishes well served you can feel the quality of the raw materials, the staff well trained and professional always with a smile which never hurts, the only flaw as far as I'm concerned is the desserts on the menu something is missing for those like me who have heart problems a vegan dessert that does not contain butter and milk would be the icing on the cake to an EXCELLENT dinner

19/08/2025: Exceptional courtesy of the entire staff at every opportunity. The rooms are quite large, neat and well equipped. Parking is available. Breakfast is classic Italian with a variety of foods.
The food in the restaurant is excellent, high-quality and excellently prepared. The owner and the entire staff pay full attention to make the guests feel welcome and to be served. We emphasize the professionalism of the staff because the forgotten ring in the room was waiting for us at the reception after our return.
Honest recommendations!
14/07/2025: We ate at Ristorante Da Afro and can honestly say it was the best meal of our entire trip. The welcome was something special: they made us feel right at home.
The food was simply fantastic. An authentic experience in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
It’s truly worth visiting Spilimbergo just to eat here. It’s a place you absolutely can’t miss.

29/08/2025: It's very calm and tranquil place with great food. The menu is changing and they have what I thought was weird combination turned out to be a great combination. I had a duck breast with grapes. I didn't know these would go so well together.
The staffs are nice too.
If you are tired of same italian menus everywhere, then try here.

Superlative dishes, where the selection of the freshest, highest-quality ingredients takes center stage.
All this combined with the evident skill and passion of those in the kitchen, and the welcoming and friendly service in the dining room.
Superbly stocked wine cellar.

06/09/2025: A special, unique place, but the food is divine, home-cooked, spectacular! Not for everyone, but for many!
27/08/2025: Disclaimer: The place is small, and reservations are practically mandatory if you want a table. And above all, it's not for everyone; the sign outside is very clear about the categories "not recommended."
You'll enter greeted by various relics of a bygone era, complete with themed soundtracks in the background.
Mr. Ferdinando and his wife, Teodora, perfectly embody the spirit of the place.
If you go on a Sunday for lunch, you'll eat "like a family": everyone is served together, and you eat together.
There's nothing to complain about about the food: he offered us a bottle of prosecco upon arrival, two appetizers, a trio of first courses, a second course, a beautifully crafted dessert, and a digestif. Everything was delicious, and the timing between courses was perfect for a good digestion.
Fair prices.
To top it all off, the experience also includes themed entertainment provided by the owner.
Experiencing it is not the same as reading about it in a review: an experience to be had at least once in a lifetime.

They have rotating specials which are always interesting and fun
08/09/2025: The place is modest, very crowded even on a weekday. We chose seafood dishes: the spaghetti allo scoglio was cooked al dente and very rich, and the fried fish was good and dry. The bill was reasonable.

22/07/2025: The place is unique and obviously has to be liked. There's nothing to complain about about the service, and the same goes for the food, which is excellent and reasonably priced.
There are actually only two vegetarian dishes, while the only vegan option is the grilled vegetables, as the only vegetarian dish available can't be made vegan because the cheese can't be removed.
A real shame.

11/08/2025: I was truly impressed by my experience at this osteria in Pordenone: a little corner of tradition and authentic flavor. The dishes I tasted were a triumph of Friulian flavors, prepared with fresh, quality ingredients, meticulously crafted, and served with a passion evident in every bite. From the first to the last bite, each course told a story of the region and a love of cooking.
Special praise goes to the owner, an extraordinary woman: welcoming, cheerful, and genuine, capable of making every customer feel at home. Her attentiveness, expertise, and the smile with which she accompanies every dish transform a simple lunch or dinner into an experience that will remain in your heart. This osteria combines human warmth and the highest level of cuisine: absolutely worth trying again and again!
05/07/2025: We came across it by chance, intrigued by the beautiful town of Pordenone and by the curiosity to taste the frico.
The cuisine is local with very tasty cheeses and the frico, as hoped, very good.
The place is wonderful (the chef told us the story, no spoilers, but in Italy we really do have hidden excellences).
The best part of all, however, is the staff: we were with a small child and they were super helpful, genuinely kind and attentive.
Congratulations to everyone and obviously I recommend it to anyone who reads this review.

23/08/2025: It deserves a 6th star, beautiful castle park, excellent and discreet advice that exactly matched our taste, delicious rabbit, excellent beans with gambarreti, outstanding cheese platter, outstanding white chocolate mousse, very fine spumante rossato, rarely have we eaten so well, a pleasure to be able to enjoy this work of art.
24/07/2025: A prestigious restaurant in beautiful Spilimbergo. The dining room is very welcoming. There are four of us, and we're seated at a charming table with a window overlooking the valley. The menu features local influences with gourmet touches. The frico is excellent, accompanied by the fillet of the valley's "queen" beef. The Pitina, a typical Friulian cured meat, is also very interesting. The price for two courses each, a bottle of prosecco and coffee, is €50 per person.

30/06/2025: Trovandoci a Polcenigo e volendo mangiare una pizza, ci siamo ricordati di questo locale in quante altre volte in passato ci eravamo trovati bene e non era male.
Memori di questo ci siamo ritornati.
Ordiniamo due pizze di cui una alle verdure e una bufala.
Quando arrivano notiamo subito che l'impasto trabordava abbondantemente dai piatti mentre il contenuto specialmente in quella alle verdure si limitava alla parte centrale.
In pratica era più pasta che contenuto.
Le verdure lasciamo perdere.
Solitamente si mettono verdure grigliate di stagione tipo zucchine, melanzane etc. etc..
Ci troviamo, invece, verdure tipo sottolio tra cui mais (da quando mai si mette il mais in una pizza. Il mais può andare bene per gli americani che non sanno cosa si mette in una pizza. Per loro se al posto del pomodoro si mette il Ketchap va bene lo stesso).
Per la prima volta ci ritroviamo a non finire entrambi la pizza.
Chiediamo cortesemente se si può mettere ciò che resta in un cartone. Di solito detta operazione per motivi pratici e igienici viene fatta in cucina dal personale e non dal cliente al tavolo.
Vabbe'. Ci viene portato il contenitore richiesto (chiuso) che al cameriere cade per terra. Lo recupera e con un modo tipo "cjapa ed arrangiati" ce lo consegna.
Lo apriamo e poniamo quello che rimane delle rispettive pizze.
Ci rechiamo a pagare. La compagna appoggia la carta al pos per procedere al pagamento e forse perché non lo ha appoggiato nel posto giusto non avviene la transazione.
La cassiera senza chiedere se poteva prendere la carta o meno la toglie repentinamente di mano alla compagna e procede al pagamento.
Non sei mica una nostra parente o conoscente per fare questo.
Rilascio i miei commenti sulla nostra insoddisfazione delle pizze e ce ne andiamo.
Dispiace. Avevamo un bel ricordo del locale.
Indubbiamente un corso accelerato di buone maniere al personale non guasterebbe.
Per noi mai più.
