21/08/2025: Unfortunately, Il Buco does not live up to its Michelin star. The food seems passionless. We opted for the “I trust you” menu because we wanted to see what creative dishes the chef would come up with. Instead, we just got random dishes from the menu. Nothing about the choices was inventive and we honestly would have saved money if we ordered those dishes directly. The initial appetizers were very bland — and so while we were initially interested in the wine pairing, we switched to just ordering a bottle since we didn’t feel like the pairing would live up to our standards. It also felt unorganized - we had about 3-4 different servers all at once. Above all, it was a fine meal. But it doesn’t deserve the amount of money we paid. I wouldn’t go back.

20/08/2025: Il Buco benefits from a nice location, and the initial impression created by the first dining room adds a distinctive and charming touch to the restaurant’s atmosphere. However, we were seated in a back room, which unfortunately lacked the same refinement and ambiance, making it feel more like an ordinary restaurant rather than a Michelin-starred establishment. Service timing was uneven. The amuse-bouche was brought out immediately as we sat down, which felt rushed, while the starters followed only after a 20-minute wait. The food itself was acceptable, but it didn’t meet the high expectations one typically has for a Michelin-starred experience—flavors and presentation were fine, but not remarkable. The staff were friendly and polite throughout the evening, which we appreciated. However, the overall service fell short of Michelin standards. Several small but important details were missing: dishes were occasionally served without explanation, no one asked about our wine preferences, and there was a lack of attentiveness in areas like cleaning the table properly between courses. Another distraction was the sound of the dishwasher during our meal, as staff began cleaning up for the evening. This detracted from the atmosphere and made the dining experience feel rushed and unfinished. In summary, while Il Buco offers a pleasant setting and friendly staff, the overall experience did not live up to Michelin-star expectations. Key elements in service, timing, and attention to detail were lacking, leaving us with a sense of disappointment.

01/09/2025: Menu choice is good, service is very efficient, atmosphere is great, the food presentation was fantastic. Taste of the food was slightly disappointing.

28/08/2025: The space was spacious and airy, the atmosphere was upscale, and the pizza was delicious. However, even though I deliberately visited during an off-peak time, the staff was rather indifferent. The food prices were generally 2-10 euros higher than other restaurants. When I paid, they asked if I wanted to tip, but it wasn't worth it. I experienced the incredible magic of receiving 12 euros for a margherita, 15 euros for a tasso pizza, and 38 euros for a bottle of water. They didn't even give me a detailed bill.

15/06/2025: Honestly, I did not expect to like this place as much as I did. Food was spectacular and flavorful! It’s a nice restaurant outside of the main center here in Sorrento. We are glad we came across this place 🙂

08/07/2025: Charming Italian restaurant where pasta dishes are plentiful. The carbonara is excellent, and the prices are reasonable for the location 😊

29/06/2025: Pizzeria Rosticceria da Michele. We stopped attracted by a delicious smell of pizza in the air, and it turned out to be a great idea! Simple place but the pizza was really very good and the staff very kind. Recommended stop.

30/08/2025: We're staying at the hotel next door, so we decided to stop by for lunch one day, and it was a great choice. Quality food, a fair price for Sorrento, and the staff was fantastic. We paid €58 for two people, including lunch and two 66cl Peroni bottles.

29/08/2025: This restaurant was recommended by our transfer driver and it did not disappoint.We ended up going 2 nights in a row for dinner. We had the chicken pollo, cannelloni, ravioli and spaghetti vongole (clams) and the affogato. We are thinking of coming back again and trying the pizza next. Very taste traditional food and lovely waitstaff.

20/08/2025: Found it by chance and it turned out to be very good and super cheap. If you arrive around 8:30/9, you might find a bit of a line, but it moves quickly. A friendly, family-friendly place with very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

02/09/2025: A very good experience. The food is of very high quality and well prepared. The service is courteous and competent. A good wine list. A definite recommendation.

31/08/2025: Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, with definitely the best pizza (ortolana with a tomato base) we've had in Sorrento (and a few glasses of chianti to help it go down). Highly recommend for a late lunch.

17/08/2025: One of the best dinners! Intimate and refined atmosphere, with attention to every detail. All the dishes on the menu we chose were delicious. Excellent ingredients, cooked and served with great care. The wine recommended for our menu was also excellent. I will definitely return.

01/08/2025: Very atmospheric and cozy place. Officially this is the most delicious restaurant for me in Italy, I have been to many places, but this is simply amazing. Pasta with truffle won my heart, and this is the most delicious pasta in my life. Very polite girl administrator-waitress. If you are in Sorrento, you must visit ♥️

29/08/2025: The steak that you see is suppose to be a fillet it was so tough that I could not even cut it. No server came even once to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything else. Paid the entire bill. The owner never even asked once why the entire plate was sent back. Total waste of a dinner experience.

12/05/2025: We recently had our wedding reception at Villa Antiche Mura, and it was nothing short of spectacular! The venue exceeded our expectations in every way, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to get married or host an event in Sorrento. Planning a wedding from England without a planner could have been daunting, but thanks to Michele and Claudia, the entire process was incredibly easy, smooth, and enjoyable. Their communication was 10/10—prompt, efficient, and attentive to the finest details of my requests. Michele was particularly patient as I navigated countless questions and requests when meeting him at the Villa in the days leading up to the wedding. His understanding and support alleviated any stress and reassured me that our day would be perfect, and it truly was! On the wedding day, Michele went above and beyond by arriving at the ceremony venue to assist with my dress preparation and help my bridal party. When my veil got stuck while walking down the aisle, he was right there, saving the day! The Villa itself is breathtaking, and our guests were blown away by the fabulous views. Many of them told us it was the best wedding they had ever attended, a testament not only to the villa's beauty but also to the incredible team that makes it all possible. When my husband and I arrived at the villa, Michele greeted us with a refreshing glass of water—such a thoughtful gesture that showed his experience in handling weddings, especially in the heat. The decorations were set up perfectly, addressing my previous concerns as I personally transported all the decor from the UK. Every detail was executed flawlessly, even better than I could have achieved myself. We also booked the food through the Villa, and it was hands down the best we’ve ever tasted! As frequent diners at fine restaurants, we can confidently say the food at Villa Antiche Mura topped them all. The catering team even accommodated last-minute dietary requests from some of our guests without any fuss. The entertainment was phenomenal as well! We booked a band, a violinist, and a saxophonist through the villa, and they were incredibly talented. Our guests were thoroughly entertained throughout the entire day and evening, with many enjoying themselves so much that nobody left early! The entire team, especially Michele and Claudia, ensured that everything ran like clockwork. They thought of the little touches that made our day even more special, creating a seamless experience for us. Thank you so much to everyone at Villa Antiche Mura for your hard work and dedication in making our dream wedding come true! If you are considering a wedding venue, look no further—you will not be disappointed!

10/08/2025: A surprise find in Sorrento as didn’t expect the beautiful garden dining area. Food was good and service attentive. Lasagne was delicious.

03/07/2025: Sono stato in questo ristorante e ho provato gli agnolotti: semplicemente spettacolari. La pasta fresca, il ripieno saporito e il condimento perfettamente bilanciato hanno reso il piatto indimenticabile. Servizio cordiale e atmosfera accogliente. Tornerò sicuramente per provare altre specialità del menu.
