23/08/2025: We had dinner in 7 waiting time almost an hour... for the pizza the dough was good but not enough toppings... peppered mussels and good seafood salad... fried fish mediocre!

12/07/2025: Warm welcome and fast service. Wide selection on the menu, from pizzas and sandwiches to pasta and main courses. Everything is well-cooked and tastes great. Prices are slightly higher than average, but still affordable.

29/04/2025: Simple cuisine, "homemade" I would define it, hospitality and friendliness also evident in the sincere smile of the owner Mrs. Margherita. The dish is freshly prepared and this makes you wait a bit, but in the end you realize that everything is fresh. Until next time.

20/08/2025: I booked a table for two. When we ordered, we noticed asterisks next to all the fish dishes. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he seemed annoyed, explaining that there wasn't much fresh fish to choose from. Considering the seaside location, this seemed rather absurd and ridiculous. When the appetizer arrived, it was, as expected, a "frozen and deep-frozen feast." Noteworthy, the oyster arrived "dead on the table," definitely not fresh. As for the rest of the raw fish, I'll leave you to imagine... Regarding this, we decided not to continue with the two first courses, but were told that it wasn't possible because they were almost ready, even though we still had the appetizer on the table. The bill ended with a €100 bill for eating frozen fish.

06/02/2025: Espectacular comida en un espacio de lo más encantador comisariado con cariño por gente maravillosa. Me encantó todo, pero lo mejor fue charlar con la signora Daniela extremadamente conocedora y la divina sopa de verduras con huevo en la parte superior.

16/02/2025: L'antipasto del giorno è stato soddisfacente e il prezzo congruo (15 euro) . Le patate mpacchiuse anche molto buone e 5 euro lo ritengo adeguato. La grigliata (15 euro) era oltre che non proporzionata per quantità/prezzo, aveva la salciccia fermentata, che ho segnalato alla cameriera, che si è limitata a rispondermi che lo avrebbe detto al macellaio dove si riforniscono ma non ha integrato il disservizio in alcun modo. In più, l'ha presentata sul conto come se l'avessi mangiata, mentre invece l'ho lasciata perchè immangiabile come da segnalazione alla cameriera. In sostanza i prezzi a mia opinione non sono rapportati alla qualità. In altri locali della zona si mangia meglio e si paga molto meno. Il personale comunque è gentile e educato.

08/09/2025: September 8th: Terrible welcome, rude staff. "You have to be completely right or you'll be kicked out." These were the words, perhaps just because they're young. However, it's not acceptable for customers to always be right, even if they can be fanatical. Otherwise, this place has nothing to offer. There's no music. The only problem is the sunbeds and the unpleasant staff. I'll add that I just left the beach, and after reading the review, they even made fun of me.

25/08/2025: Gorgeous location, on Paola's stunning seafront. They have a restaurant, bar, and beach club, and have been family-run for many years. The outdoor spaces could definitely use some updating, but overall, I appreciated the fact that they were open on the seafront, which is already sadly deserted these days with many restaurants empty. They were even serving fresh croissants at 11 p.m., which was great. Fast service and fair prices. As for the fish dinner (don't you dare order meat here), the food is fresh and generally good. They also have a children's menu, and free parking is available in front of the restaurant. A place with tons of potential, but unfortunately, it hasn't quite blossomed as it deserved.

05/06/2025: The navigator setting Ristorante La Pineta took me to via Lacchi, 7 while the Hotel Kennedy is located, according to the internet, along the Statale Jonica 106, at no. 113 always in Roccella. On site I realized that in practice the two places (Summer Restaurant La Pineta located to the South) and the Kennedy Hotel located next door on the North side) are practically next door, probably belong to the same owner and therefore share the same parking lot. Why did I clarify this? Because I knew the Hotel Kennedy by name, but only later (due to the slightly different addresses) I understood that they are in the same place and that the first was annexed to the second. With this post I therefore wanted to clarify that the Restaurant and the Hotel are next door and not in two different places as it would seem from their address.

01/09/2025: Breathtaking panoramic location but... . Dirty room and non-working TV . No mosquito nets (they tortured us) . Loud and filthy air conditioning . Cracks in the walls . Terrible breakfast with no selection . Dozens of sick cats everywhere... even on the tables . Annoyed and completely unsympathetic staff (it felt like they were doing you a favor) . Dirty and neglected bathroom.

27/08/2025: The hotel's location is fantastic, with ocean views and a quiet location. It's a bit remote and requires a car, but for us, who were on the road, it was ideal. One point for improvement is that the hotel needs a facelift, a minor renovation, for my taste. Still, the breakfast is great, very varied, and the coffee is very good. The hotel service is very attentive. They have a small feline colony; they're good cats, but they approach the tables while you're eating, and my partner has allergies. They should be monitored a bit, but I insist, I like them and they don't bother me, but they could be used by other guests who don't know.

26/08/2025: I went as a couple to this seafood restaurant, which should be considered a "quick-and-go" restaurant for those passing, unpretentious diners. The prices were high, the food was meager, and the prices were unjustified for the quantity and quality. This is a seafood restaurant where dishes are served with condiments similar to those at self-service restaurants or roadside restaurants, namely in sachets. When I specifically requested quality olive oil, or at least bottled oil, given that I was in a zero-mile area, I was told it wasn't available (which is a must in other nearby restaurants), a sign of poor customer service and a lack of local attention. Not to mention the bread being made of rye or similar, which also doesn't reflect the area and typical local products. I hope the manager takes this review from a customer who experiences restaurants everywhere into constructive consideration. Finding a restaurant in Calabria in the famous town of Diamante, where the typicality of the products makes the difference, would have been highly disappointing. This is true even if I had been in Milan, Bologna, or Trento. This is without taking anything away from these wonderful cities, but in the South, from the South, one expects quality, tradition, and customer care, among many other things, especially in the restaurant and tourism sectors. If we take this away, all we have left is the sea.

25/08/2025: Inspired by the good reviews, we tried this place. What can I say? It's an experience I wouldn't recommend even to my worst enemy. We ordered a seafood appetizer. A diamond-shaped spaghetti And a tuna steak. (I can only comment on the appetizer.) A minute after ordering, the drink arrived, and right after the appetizer, which wasn't to my liking. 10 minutes later, the spaghetti arrived (we hadn't finished the appetizer yet). The waiter (as I noticed, the owner) promptly told us that the kitchen is counting its time and that it was time for them to bring out the other courses. But we hadn't finished the appetizer yet. The waiter told us to tell them when they could "put the pasta down." At that point, we decided to get up and leave. A very threatening guy from the kitchen came out at the cash register. I've gone on too long. I don't recommend it at all. Little selection, little quality, and certainly courtesy and kindness in service aren't their forte.

22/06/2025: I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this pizzeria. I had clearly specified that I wanted an undercooked pizza, but it arrived with a burnt edge and a disgusting appearance, more reminiscent of vomit than an appetizing dish. The quality of the ingredients leaves much to be desired and the presentation is simply unacceptable. After calling to complain, I pointed out that the pizza was burnt, but I was arrogantly told that it was impossible, even though it can be clearly seen in the photos. Furthermore, the staff simply pointed out that the pizza cost €11, while on the receipt it was €11.50, as if that justified everything. Treating a customer this way is unacceptable!!

14/07/2025: Grandioso. Vera cucina locale e piatti tipici. Fatti artigianalmente, una di quelle trattorie che speri di trovare quando cerchi un locale tipico. Trovati per caso e siamo felici di esserci fermati. Super consigliato:)

12/07/2025: Di solito scrivo una recensione solo se positiva, ma quando un cliente si lamenta e non riceve nemmeno una spiegazione o un "mi dispiace", allora forse con una recensione scritta forse viene ascoltato. Ho chiesto un piatto che nel menu viene descritto come "filetto di maiale con costine", invece mi è stato servito una carne che sembrava una braciola divisa in due, dura e piena di nervi, immangiabile. Non ho mai visto un filetto di maiale con l'osso. Le costine ovviamente erano metà grasso, quindi nel totale avrò mangiato l'equivalente ad una piccola bisteca. Oltre che dura la carne aveva un retrogusto di leggermente scaduta. Inoltre abbiamo aspettato mezz'ora per ogni piato. Il locale era pieno e ci sta un'attesa un po' più lunga, ma mezz'ora è tanto. Capisco che in un posto di mare si mangia meglio il pesce, ma allora forse è meglio lasciar perdere la carne. Ci hanno dato un sconto di 3 euro per l'accaduto...
