14/06/2026: Small and informal, but the dishes are meticulously prepared and the ingredients are top-quality. The owner is extremely kind and helpful. When we're craving sushi, it's become our go-to place.

06/06/2026: The sushi was super tasty and freshly made! After you order, you see the owner making the sushi himself; it was delicious and of good quality. The fried sushi was also super tasty and fresh. The all-you-can-eat option is also good value; you can order as much as you want for €28.

21/07/2026: Very good pizza. Service: There were some issues due to a lack of staff, but they were resolved at checkout. They were really friendly. Unfortunately, it was very hot; we ate outside and it was quite hot. I don't know if it was the restaurant's fault, but unfortunately, besides the pizza, I wasn't able to order anything else because I wasn't hungry due to the heat.

22/02/2026: You feel at home in this osteria. As soon as you see Marco, you're in a good mood! The place is special, both winter and summer, and the food is always top-notch! Everything is delicious! From the starters to the main courses... not to mention the legendary roast potatoes! All the staff are incredibly kind and professional. My compliments, truly ❤️ We have a couple of friends who live in Umbria... and every time they visit us, they want to eat at the osteria! There's definitely a reason 😉 Ele and Nico.

09/06/2026: One of the best fish soups in Fano. Excellent seafood, fast and friendly service (especially the owner, who acts as a public relations assistant), and a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The only downside is the prices aren't exactly cheap (and at the soup festival, it was advertised as participating in the special €25 price, but the receipt was €30).

03/06/2026: This restaurant is very close to Fano's historic center, with parking available nearby. The restaurant is elegant, with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light, and outdoor dining is also available. The fish is excellent and beautifully cooked. Definitely try the brodetto, it's delicious!

06/07/2026: Unfortunately, things in Marotta aren't what they used to be. The classics of the past have gotten too big for their reputations, and, imitating the great chefs, they offer "creative" menus that have nothing creative about them except the tiny portions for the high prices. Fortunately, Il Gabbiano is still here. Here, you can still feel the atmosphere of a classic fish trattoria. The staff is very quick and helpful. The portions are truly generous, and the quality is more than in line with the restaurant's style: mussels Taranto-style or all'arrabbiata, amazing first courses, fried and roasted dishes, all strictly without the frills that are in fashion these days, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. One consolation is walking back after dinner and noticing that Il Gabbiano was packed to the rafters, while many other "starred" restaurants on the seafront weren't even at half capacity... think about it, restaurateurs, think about it!!!!

03/07/2026: I've only been to the restaurant. This place is marked as a favorite, and I've decided to return again and again. Unpretentious, but down-to-earth. Lots of delicious fish, with old-fashioned prices to suit everyone's budget. A sincere and special place in its simplicity.

If you're looking for innovation, mini portions, dishes whose names are a list of ingredients, you're unlikely to want to stay away. If you want to eat like you're at grandma's house on Sundays, you'll be welcome here.

07/07/2026: We went last week and had a great meal. The staff was very kind and helpful. The only downside was that we were traveling with a 1-year-old, and although we made sure there was a high chair, it was for much older children. Luckily, we had ours in the car, otherwise it would have been a bit of an inconvenience. Furthermore, the baby didn't eat anything; we had cutlery and glasses removed, but they did charge us a place setting. Despite everything, I would gladly return because the experience was positive and enjoyable. It's just a shame that small touches can sometimes make all the difference.

23/02/2026: I love this place and every time I'm in the area, it's a must-try. The grilled meat is cooked to perfection, and their carbonara is out of this world, both in its enormous portion and its flavor. The owner is a key figure, and you absolutely have to get to know him. The staff is attentive to detail and friendly.

30/12/2025: A lovely restaurant to spend a day with friends or family. Overall, the food was good (the gnocchi with rib ragù and the meats were excellent, but unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed by the creamy pasta dish and the extremely salty side dishes). The service and atmosphere were good, everyone was very friendly, but unfortunately, the second half of the meal was a bit slow (all the side dishes came out right away, but the meat took a long time to arrive, so we had to eat both at different times). Good coffee. If it helps, cell phone/internet reception is poor to non-existent. The location is lovely and surrounded by nature. Easy parking. We paid €50 each. See you next time.
