27/06/2026: After many years, I returned to Pagnanelli, a historic restaurant on Lake Castel Gandolfo. The view remains splendid and worth the visit.
The food, however, disappoints: low quality, especially the raw fish, and dishes that are poorly prepared and lack character.
It's a shame, because with better ingredients and more attention, it could return to its former glory. Today, it thrives primarily on its location, not its cuisine.
26/06/2026: The restaurant is beautiful, the location fantastic... it's a shame that the food, which is good, is a little below expectations for such a beautiful and special place!

11/07/2026: For the second year in a row, we chose to celebrate our birthday at this restaurant. A charming location, attentive and friendly staff, and a truly excellent menu. Thank you for a wonderful evening yesterday!
06/07/2026: There's not much to say: the place isn't exactly thrilling, but I don't eat out because I live in a dump; I prefer good food (even excellent if it happens) and adequate service, and I was very satisfied with that. The rest was done by the cheerful company we were in. A group of over 30 people who ate very well (all of them) in an overall family-like atmosphere.
Thanks to the chefs for what they did for our reunion!

07/06/2026: Good food, shame about the service. There were only three of us at lunch. They forgot a starter. I told the waiter, and after 40 minutes, the missing entree still hadn't arrived. Plus, I was charged €5 more per dish, for a total of €35 more on my bill. If you go to this place, check your accounts.
07/06/2026: The food is excellent, the service is a bit slow, and the atmosphere is a bit too dark (the black walls don't let any light into the room).

06/07/2026: Stunning location with a lake view and a very refined atmosphere. Excellent food (excellent homemade pasta!!!). It's a shame the table service is a bit slow. In any case, it's definitely worth more than one visit to try the various specialties.

02/06/2026: We spent a delightful evening with friends. The service was prompt and extremely courteous, the food was excellent, both the plaza and the other dishes. The outdoor seating was a welcome escape from the heat, and the atmosphere was relaxed and conducive to conversation.
From the front terrace, there was a stunning view, with the sea on the horizon.
30/05/2026: I learned about this place through a friend, though I was curious because I'd often seen it while driving along the Appian Way. It's already a visually appealing place: it has outdoor seating and, of course, nice, comfortable indoor dining rooms. We were welcomed and served by the owners, who were very polite, informal, and professional.
We had appetizers and pizza (Roman-style), although they offer a fairly varied menu, and even though I'm from Campania, I found it very enjoyable. The quality/price ratio is fair, and I'll definitely be back—that's all I have to say!

The restaurant is deliberately edgy and quirky in its decor.
The menu offers a wide selection.
We ate well, with generous and carefully prepared portions.
The price was reasonable for the location.
The free parking next to the restaurant is excellent.

It offers a lake view, excellent bread and appetizers (and obviously everything else as well), and a family atmosphere. The prices are affordable, and the traditional first courses are truly delicious (always €9). The meat options for the second courses are very tasty. The staff is friendly and quick.
30/06/2026: A pleasant spot overlooking the lake. The outdoor setting is simple but well-kept, and the service is friendly and fast. If you're looking for a relaxed, informal dinner with good food, this is the place!

If you care about your hearing, stay away.
17/05/2026: One star is an understatement. We had a reservation for Saturday. The staff assured us that if it rained, as it was an outdoor event, we would be notified of the cancellation. When we arrived at the venue, we were told that the event had been moved to a nearby venue due to the rain. Once there, there were no tables, and the staff had not been notified of anything. We called the venue and a rather haughty girl answered. After explaining the inconvenience caused to us and the birthday reservation that had practically been cancelled, she thought it best to tell us that we could stay home if it rained. I advise this person to change jobs because this job really isn't for her!

30/06/2026: The idea of combining excellent cuisine with a place to eat is excellent, but perhaps there could be some improvement.
The porchetta was unforgettable, and the vegetables were equally delicious.

I would have at least included a little cheese in the appetizer; there were only two slices of salami, one of prosciutto, and some pickled vegetables.
The first course was good, nothing to complain about.
The second course was a small sausage and two pieces of lamb, served with baked potatoes.
The only sore point was the millefeuille with cream and chocolate. Honestly, it's misleading from the menu, since the millefeuille consisted of crumbled millefeuille biscuits, not the actual millefeuille cake.
The flavors were good, but more transparency on the menu would have been helpful.
17/03/2026: The food is very good, the place is quiet, the people serving the tables are very sociable, perhaps the waiting times are a bit long.

11/07/2026: A motorcycle ride, a swim in the lake... and then lunch at the "La Perla" restaurant! A very elegant, well-kept place with a view of the lake. You're immediately welcomed by kind, friendly, and smiling staff. But my compliments go to the chef! We missed the Tagliolini allo Scoglio and Tagliolini alle Vongole.... Delicious is an understatement!

07/07/2026: Here I tried the authentic porchetta di Ariccia with typical local products, including cured meats and niche cheeses, excellent wine, and overall everything was good. The highlight was the outdoor seating surrounded by greenery, overlooking the lake.
I recommend it if you're passing through.
