Ristorante La Gardenia In Castel gandolfo

I was there on Easter Sunday, my second time. Highly recommended outside of the holidays. The view is superb, overlooking Lake Castel Gandolfo. The restaurant is spread across several floors, with several rooms, each with very refined details in the decor. The staff were very welcoming, attentive to every request; everyone was very friendly and kind. The à la carte menu included a mixed antipasto, with a superb cacio e pepe mussel soup. First course: spaghetti with beetroot, overcooked, with meat ragù, non-existent. First course: homemade fettuccine, bought with gelatine dough, with seafood, and with lobster and various shellfish, decent. Second course: grilled fillet, perhaps a tough sirloin full of sinew, with a good cheese sauce. Second course: fried fish, soft and very greasy. Desserts: the chocolate sphere, too sweet for my taste; the column, made with white chocolate and filled with a coffee paste, excellent; the limoncello sorbet was decent, but I don't think it was homemade. The wine list was well-stocked, although I'm no expert. For a meal that wasn't the best, €80 per person seems a bit excessive. I'm sorry to say that if it were my first time there, I wouldn't have returned.

We went for lunch and I have to say we had a great time. The place was very scenic, the food was good, and the service was good. We'll be back. I recommend it.

Delicious food and drinks, plenty of space to sit with large tables. However a lot of people since its a popular restaurant.

Beautiful location. The quality/quantity/price ratio of the appetizers isn't up to par; the first courses are okay. The service was a sore point: in the second bread basket (€2 per person) there were two corks and half a squeezed lemon (I guess they didn't notice). I recommend making the most of the location and paying more attention to service and the quality/price ratio of the dishes, especially the appetizers. The wine list is excellent.

We had Easter lunch here and everything was wonderful! The staff is incredibly kind, a rare find in restaurants these days, the portions are generous, and the ingredients are top-quality! I'm celiac, and they delivered on their promises to perfection! Truly an excellent experience!

Beautiful place with a wonderful view of the lake and the food is excellent.

A very unique restaurant, rich in designer furnishings. It overlooks Lake Albano, offering a stunning panorama. It has many dining rooms and is suitable for both private lunches and events/birthdays. The service is excellent. The dishes are well-crafted, refined, and never boring. The prices are moderate to high, but it's worth the experience. They welcome pets. There's parking in front. The bathrooms are a bit inconvenient—you have to go down the stairs—but they're spotless. We'll be back.

Best restaurant ever. Perfect and wonderful. I will return and recommend it without hesitation. Excellent food, spectacular place. Parking at the door. One single detail. I ordered an apple dessert that arrived at the table frozen. I started eating it and asked them to heat it up because it was hard. The waiter immediately took it and brought it back hot and very good, but it came back disassembled and with a not-so-inviting appearance. I think they should have made another one correctly, since it was a mistake on the kitchen's part to send something super frozen to the table. This was a small detail that didn't change my opinion of the wonderful restaurant I visited. I give it a 10/10.
