13/10/2025: The restaurant's cuisine has lost some points compared to the past: for example, the baked potatoes ordered were definitely from the day before as they were dry and certainly reheated.

05/03/2026: We stopped by Caffè Montanucci while in Orvieto and really enjoyed it. The place has a very nice atmosphere and it’s quite big, with lots of seating which is always a plus. We came early so there was no queue and the service was quick.
There’s a lot to choose from - plenty of pastries, cakes and also some sandwiches. I had a focaccia sandwich which was really lovely, and we also tried a cake with fresh cream that was just perfect.
What surprised us the most were the prices. For such good food and a nice place, everything was very affordable. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for breakfast or something sweet while in Orvieto.
01/03/2026: Drawn by the beauty of this place, we go in for a coffee. Given the vast selection of products, I even tell my companion to get dessert there later and not to order it at the restaurant. The only flaw here is the service: neither a hello nor a goodbye. My companion goes to get a croissant with the receipt in hand, and the lady tells him she has to prepare the dishes for the tables. After twenty minutes, we leave without having had a chance to eat the croissant. This is all due to an organizational problem with the staff. I must have counted five people behind the counter, and not being able to grab a handkerchief and pass each other a croissant is truly absurd. Hmm…

28/12/2025: Everything was average; the food was good, but I didn't try anything I was crazy about. The staff was friendly but a bit slow, considering the place wasn't particularly crowded. The price was a bit high for the quality of the food.

26/01/2026: The price and seating are high compared to the amount of food served. I can't give it a high score for the quality of the food and the length of the meal. There are plenty of restaurants in the heart of the city, so you'll want to browse around before making your decision. I was even more hesitant after I sat down when I realized they offered me a table in front of the restrooms, even though there were better tables in the back. I hope this consideration for the enjoyment of a meal is shared with all guests.
25/01/2026: They welcomed us graciously when others were already closed or full, in the pouring rain. We ate excellent, delicious and original food. The noise-absorbing panels hung from the ceiling by the chef-engineer were much appreciated! The paintings on the walls are also his: a man of many talents!
His wife is in the dining room and is happy to tell you about their major life change. Nice wine list. Fair prices for a place and food that are worth a visit!

03/02/2026: This restaurant is next to the cathedral, slightly hidden at the back of the square. The two of us had carbonara, umbrichelli, and a truffle tagliata with sautéed mushrooms, as well as two desserts and coffee: everything was excellent and the portions generous. The presentation was also beautiful. The waiter was very friendly.
€40 per person, with a small discount as a pleasant surprise. A very fair price for such high quality!

13/07/2025: Mediocre food, especially the shrimp focaccia which tasted rancid and the pruscitto one which was black, the environment is not the cleanest, in fact... terrible service, always pay attention to the change you give, risk of sly foxes wandering around... always come back again

11/03/2026: Honestly, I had high expectations.
Friendly, welcoming, and I'm Aic (Italian Association of Certified Gluten-Free Eaters), so all the dishes are gluten-free, but I was miserable all night! Terrible experience. I don't know if the ingredients weren't fresh since the place was empty, if there was contamination, or if the lamb was undercooked... But it was a terrible dinner. Plus, the prices were high.
15/02/2026: We took two tourist menus for €16 and the food was fantastic and plentiful!!!!

15/02/2026: Quiet atmosphere, convenient location, spacious rooms, very kind and sweet staff, well-cooked and flavorful dishes, and reasonably priced. The only downside... the Prosecco (without bubbles) tasted like white wine, which left me with a "hmm, thoughtful" feeling, but otherwise, nothing to complain about.

18/09/2025: We chose this property for its historic character and its pool. We used it for about two hours because it was full of mosquitoes, and we and other guests had to flee. The area could be disinfected so guests can enjoy relaxing by the pool, but instead we had to go up to our room and then leave. The lobby cleaning was a bit unnecessary, and we would have liked a check-in to be done with a smile. The room and breakfast room were dimly lit, and there was no large mirror. Excellent Italian breakfast. We checked out with a smile, asking: "Are you not using the pool?"...
Positive notes for the three of us: historic structure, breakfast, proximity to Orvieto.

24/06/2025: Came here by chance while traveling, as it is close to the highway - but I'll come back for a vacation for sure after seeing this unique building and the lovely town it is in. People are friendly and laid back, the room is large and has AC, the hotel is clean. Total hidden gem! Highly recommended!!

This is a great spot in Orvieto for pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice). We tried the salsiccia e funghi, pepperoni, funghi porcini and gorgonzola e pera and they were all terrific! Lovely toppings and nice thin bases. The lady is quite friendly and if you ask nicely she might even heat them up for you. This is a good value option for a quick and tasty meal!
