Caffe Montanucci In Orvieto

Bar Montanucci is an institution for all Orvieto residents, a place lost in time. A meeting place, a place to meet, a place to enjoy delicious food. Former owners Rosina and her son Reno made it famous and appreciated for its quality and deliciousness, which remains the same today. Desserts are their forte; the legendary pastries of all kinds are also accompanied by delicious croissants. But their artisanal ice cream is equally delicious. In recent years, they've also masterfully expanded their savory offerings, adding quality hot and cold first and second courses to the classic rustic pizza. In short, a delight! Like any place, there's room for improvement in the future, with more skilled staff (some are already top-notch, though) and the addition of air conditioning for the warmer months.

We had breakfast at this restaurant on the morning of our last day in Orvieto. A small maritozzo and tea cost about 3 euros. It was early in the morning on a rainy day, so there were only two or three other customers, allowing us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The staff were also very attentive. The tea was from a tea bag, but the maritozzo was absolutely delicious—the best I've had on this trip to Italy. The cream was rich but not oily, and I felt like I could eat several. Really wonderful place. Variety of sweets, cakes, sandwiches and food. Great coffee and a lot of different seating options.

Fantastic place to order a combination of pasta, salad, salmon, desserts from a deli case. Tasty food at a great price.

It's immediately clear that this is a historic restaurant in the city. Excellent selection of sweet and savory dishes, all very fresh. Impeccable service and more than reasonable prices considering table service.

Lunch served in a variety of ready-made dishes, with your choice of options. Great choices and very generous portions. Excellent option.

Excellent choice for a quick lunch

Excellent pastry shop in the heart of Orvieto. A truly pleasant atmosphere with a wonderful outdoor garden. A wide variety of both sweet and savory products. The only flaw, in my opinion, is the customer service; you have to find someone to order first. However, we were welcomed warmly by a friendly and knowledgeable staff member who knows her job... well done! We'll definitely be back.

Overall, nothing to say, good or bad. I haven't found any better desserts; perhaps in the afternoon they were a little drier than they should have been.
