25/05/2025: Wir war im Mai 25 in Modica, aufgrund der eigentlich guten Bewertungen haben wir im Bisboccia Risto-bistrot & Arancin-corner zu Abend gegessen. Die Arancini zur Vorspeise wirkten vorgefertigt, waren nicht frisch. Die gefüllten Nudeln zur Hauptspeise waren nicht richtig warm, das wurde leider nur mit Schulterzucken zur Kenntnis genommen. Insgesamt keine Empfehlung, lieber anderswo Essen gehen.

25/05/2025: The arancini weren't fresh, more like a ready-made product. The filled dumplings weren't warm, which is truly unbelievable. Complaints were ignored. Better to eat somewhere else!!!

12/06/2025: Bad value and somewhat slow service. Food was average and in small quantities, but prices were higher than elsewhere. I would have put 3 stars, but the current rating is way too high for what it is, so I put 2.

26/02/2025: We spent Valentine's Day in this place...really nice set up with all the balloons ❣️...we had an aperitif in the company of our little one... In fact, I already found myself in discomfort because they didn't have a seat... another inconvenience was the lack of a changing table in the bathroom... okay, moving on to the food, I have to say that it has reduced a lot in the years, before it was pretty full, now it's smaller, the thing I hate most is that they have to bring the cocktails 🍸 first and so when the cutting board arrives after a while I've already finished the drink... All in all nice!

11/01/2025: 2 spritzes and a platter of appetizers for two people €33 They are probably used to treating foreigners like this. Otherwise I don't understand how it could be full of people. Not even in Formentera there are prices like that. Colossal rip-off

17/05/2025: Cantine Sanfilippo is a place on the outskirts of Pedara in the direction of Trecastagni. The place is very nice and welcoming, with an atmosphere halfway between a pub and a Mexican place. The waiters with sombreros are also nice! The menu includes meat dishes, pinse, a Tex Mex part and a menu of the day on a blackboard. We had a good time, excellent dishes and good value for money. The only criticism is that orders were taken by only one person! In such a large place, with such a wide choice on the weekend it becomes impossible!

16/05/2025: I have been to this charming place to have dinner with friends, they were all enthusiastic about the impeccable service and good food. We had a great evening, I recommend it.

04/06/2025: A quiet environment where you can have lunch comfortably in an air-conditioned room even if, keeping the main entrance door open, a strong heat was coming in. Provided with various dishes, first courses, second courses and side dishes and much more.

01/06/2025: Very good single portion of mojito, excellent lemon granita accompanied by an excellent brioche. Returned after 3 years for my wedding cake, beautiful and delicious, as well as the mignon, compliments to the pastry shop.

08/06/2025: One star is generous. We came here excitedly having been recommended by a Catanian local. The staff were inattentive and dishonest. The wine glasses arrived filthy, with lipstick stains from previous guests. The plates and glasses are kept in an uncovered shelving unit on the roadside. The buffet, (which we were told cost 5€ per head, per plate) was covered in fruit flies and my friend bit into a pastry to find it filled with the mould. The waiter apologised and quickly took it away. When the meats arrived, the pork was uncooked. This is not a matter of taste or opinion - there was blood running from it. This is an actual food safety violation and poses a serious threat to health. This was a similar tale for the lamb. Not wanting to risk severe food poisoning, we were all put off our meals and asked for the bill. On receiving the bill, we found we had been charged 9€ for two buffet plates claiming two of our party had “overfilled” their plate - this was not communicated to us to be a rule nor extra charge. When we refused to pay for the buffet food (due to mould and flies) we were surrounded at the table by all staff and shouted at and threatened aggressively, and told it was not mould but ricotta. The staff then claimed they had watched us on the cameras and because of this they knew we had had a “big” buffet plate- which we simply had not. We went inside to pay, and staff (& friends???) blocked the door until we had all paid the full amount. As a woman, this experience was truly terrifying for me and it induced an anxiety which ruined the rest of my night. This was unfortunately the last night of our Sicilian holiday and it has left a very sour taste. *I cannot urge you enough - do NOT enter or eat at Re Carlo V*

08/06/2025: I was recommended this place by a local, and went with colleagues. The buffet food was covered in fruitflies. When we ate, we found that some of the items were mouldy. We mentioned this to the waiters, they apologised, before arguing that this was not mould, and actually charged us *more* than we had been quoted. The barbequed meats were also undercooked, including pork chops which ran with red juices when served. When we complained about our overcharge on the buffet food we were surrounded by all the staff in an aggressive manner and forced to pay. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Tldr: Stay away if you don't want food poisoning, being overcharged or threatened.
