31/03/2025: Well, in the end, we were disappointed with my wife. We went on a Sunday for lunch to this restaurant located in a central position in Valguarnera. The other restaurants in the area, called before, one was full and the other was closed, therefore, given the time, we opted for this one. Upon our arrival, only one table occupied, a somewhat anonymous environment but the owner welcomed us very kindly and made us change the table with courtesy. We took two fish appetizers mixed between cooked and marinated which could have been more appetizing but unfortunately they weren't. Then two pasta dishes with fennel and sardines in red sauce, these two dishes also didn't excite us. The sauce in our opinion was rather heavy but still better than the two appetizers. To finish we chose a dessert, decomposed ricotta cannoli, which this time was really good. With a bottle of mineral we paid €38.50 each. A high price in our opinion for what we got. However, apart from the kindness shown towards us, in the end they didn't even offer us the classic bitters or coffee, we were rather dissatisfied also for the amount spent. *********************************** 3/31/25 -Revision of the review posted yesterday- After my review I was contacted by Mr. Gaetano D'Angelo, the owner of the Valguarnera restaurant Repubblica 20 due. I must say that I really appreciated his gesture, it shows *great attention to the customer* and in the end after a pleasant chat we agreed that I will return to his restaurant with family/friends, so we will have the opportunity, in the meantime, to put everything back into question and I am convinced that my review will be modified and, this time, it will be positive. It's not easy to deal with sensitive and professional people as the owner of this restaurant has demonstrated!

05/09/2024: Since it is a renovation of the old salt mines, the windows are high up, but good lighting and excellent air conditioning make you forget all that. Friendly, prompt, professional and helpful staff. Then, let's face it, in Marzamemi you only go to the room to sleep and this place is record-breaking. The day is spent at the sea. Ciao, have a nice stay.

11/04/2025: Outstanding seafood and incredibly fresh fish, beautifully presented. The wine was exceptional, and the desserts were truly memorable—especially the pistachio tiramisu, a delightful twist I’d never seen before, but absolutely delicious. Service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance, right by the sea in a cozy, charming spot, made the experience even more special.

07/04/2025: ieri sera cena a base di pesce eccezionale. neonata cruda delicatissima, un risotto alla pescatora con tutti sapori del mare e poi una seppia cruda la cui semplicità ne metteva in risalto la freschezza. il tutto innaffiato da un calice di insolia ricco di profumi. la cortesia e la simpatia del proprietario, hanno reso ancor più gradevole la serata. grazie Davide e spero di tornare presto!

01/04/2025: Pizza tour with poor pizzas, they could have gone a little more unbalanced. Usually it is the customer who decides when to end the tour, but this time it was not the case. I left on an empty stomach. The venue is beautiful and the entertainment was too. Large spaces outside... it may have been the large amount of people present but in any case it was just a few pizzas for 15 people at a table. Kind and friendly staff.

07/01/2025: It exceeded every expectation! We went there with my wife and my children, between pizza and spaghetti we savored the Top as per tradition. The kindness of the staff and the care for the surrounding environment reflects the high standard advertised on the internet and by word of mouth. Cozy, clean and with a wood-burning fireplace we felt like we were at home. Highly recommended for those who want to eat with quality while spending the right amount. Thank you

28/10/2024: We found this place by chance and it was a pleasant surprise. the restaurant has an external veranda and internal rooms and it is possible to eat sandwiches, salads and single dishes. the sandwiches we got were good and the prices average. advised

28/10/2024: abbiamo individuato questo locale per caso ed è stata una piacevole sorpresa. il locale ha una veranda esterna e delle sale interne ed è possibile mangiare o panini insalate E piatti unici. i panini che abbiamo preso erano buoni e i prezzi nella media. consigliato

26/03/2025: Vabres è un piccolo bar, non lontano dalla Stazione Centrale e, per sua fortuna, lontano dai tradizionali e scontati circuiti turistici palermitani. Questo ha permesso a un bar di famiglia di non snaturarsi, ma, al contrario, di crescere grazie all’arrivo delle nuove generazioni. Si può gustare un ottimo caffè e tutti parlano bene dei suoi dolci. Ma Vabres è, soprattutto, il migliore posto di Palermo per gustare un’ottima arancina. Certamente le tradizionali: con raguncino rosso di carne e piselli (per i palermitani “accarne”), o con prosciutto cotto, mozzarella, burro (ovvero “abburro”), e accanto a queste le arancine con spinaci mozzarella e grana, quelle con salsiccia, con melanzane, con bacon e provola. Il ripieno è omogeneo e di qualità e resta ben distinto dal riso perfettamente cotto. La panatura e la frittura è realizzata a regola d’arte, con una crosta croccante al punto giusto, che non lascia tracce di unto. È molto apprezzabile avere arancine fritte espresse, se richiesto; personale gentile e molto efficiente, ottimo il rapporto qualità-prezzo.

23/03/2025: Il locale non attira il turista ma il prodotto (brioche) vale la pena per una colazione veloce prima della partenza in treno.

26/01/2025: Posto caratteristico, in pieno centro, molto frequentato, buona scelta di vini e bevande, cibo così così. Tagliere di salumi e formaggi industriali di qualità medio-bassa, non quello che uno si aspetta per 20 euro. Molto buona la vela di pane con pomodorino e bottarga perché molto buona la bottarga. Bene ma non benissimo. Prezzi altini per la qualità proposta, servizio molto veloce come pure lo sgombero del tavolo, tacito invito a liberare il posto... ma questo si può capire.

13/04/2025: Very nice place near the sea, perfect for eating something good and fast. You can find rustici, arancini, pizzas, and focaccia alla messinese made really well. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Great for a lunch break or an informal dinner. The prices are fair and the atmosphere is quiet. Recommended if you are in the area!

Peccato solo che alla raffinata gestione della parte edibile, abbia fatto da contraltare un POS "privo di connessione" 3 giorni su 4: la qualità del servizio ne risente e......si perde una stella
